@Uplink - Starting fires is really a 'minimal' addition because fires are only started in rooms that are 'hit' by the beam. Since the beam destroys the rooms there is usually not much fire.
@Vali - Because I like it spelled that way and I didn't want people complaining I spelled it 'wrong'.
@Good_Oatmeal - Yes, I will make a 'cheat' version of this weapon, probably this coming weekend. I will not be changing the damage to Ion damage. To me, lasers would cut a ship apart into pieces, not blow things up. And yes, I also like that I am not blowing up all that valuable scrap, I am deconstructing the enemy ship and collecting the scrap. So there are no explosions when you zap a reactor or ammo in cargo, or guns with ammo. It is more of a scrappers dream weapon.
