No worries!

I found the issue; it was Niesmt's Base Resources. Somehow that messed removed the ability to make fermented milk in general. Sorry for the trouble

It definitely works with Advanced Agriculture, so it must be another mod conflicting, yeah. If the reaction doesn't even show up then the civ you're playing mustn't be getting it applied; are you playing a modded civ, or with a mod that replaces the default dwarves? Only they (and the humans) get access to it. Also, try moving Fermented Milk to the bottom of your mod load order (I should've suggested that off the bat XD).

It is in my game; the fermented milk appears when searched in the stockpile search. I'm not sure if it's another mod interfering with it or not, but something is wrong

I'm not able to reproduce this; I'm testing with the latest version of Fermented Milk, and Advanced Agriculture 3.11, and everything works fine. "Ferment drink from milk" should appear in the main task list in the still (immediately below "Extract from plants"). You can also check in Work Orders by searching for "Ferment"; if it doesn't appear at all then I can only guess that the mod wasn't enabled during worldgen.

It breaks it by removing the ability to actually ferment the milk from the still menu. When I open the menu to make fermented milk the option to do so doesn't appear

@Cactus I can't find anywhere that these two should conflict; they work fine together in testing here. Advanced Agriculture doesn't seem to modify milkable creatures at all (except removing it from some animal people).
Cactus 11 Mar @ 1:30pm
This isn't compatible with Advanced Agriculture, unfortunately
Qev  [author] 23 Mar, 2024 @ 4:21pm
Currently just works with the animals listed under Compatibility, but the readme file explains how to add it to other creatures (if you're up for a bit of modding). :)

Does this work with Milkable Gorillas????
Qev  [author] 18 Jun, 2023 @ 5:55pm
I believe it's 2901114557
MangoCobra 18 Jun, 2023 @ 3:30pm
Actually, what's the # of the mod? I can't seem to find it among the other mods I DL'd.
MangoCobra 18 Jun, 2023 @ 12:24pm
Thank you

I called it 'liquor' to leave it culturally generic, but if you want to change it just search-and-replace "liquor" with "airag" in creature_ferment_milk.txt in the mod's objects folder. :)
MangoCobra 18 Jun, 2023 @ 10:46am
Any chance to rename the booze to airag?

Further down in the creature definition for the milkable cats, under [CASTE:FEMALE] there'll be the milk material definition. Add that line to the end of the milk definition (right after [PREFIX:NONE].
Meguroko Sylveon 19 Jan, 2023 @ 9:05pm
I get stuck on the instructions for the following step ; (In the Read-Me File)

and then add the following material reaction product to the creature's milk material definition:

[MATERIAL_REACTION_PRODUCT:CR_FERMENT_MAT:LOCAL_CREATURE_MAT:CR_FERMENT]

;
I'll need some help here been trying for many hours trying to get this to work but simply don't understand how to, can make a stock pile in game for some cat milk booze so I got step 1(I think).
Thx.
Qev  [author] 18 Jan, 2023 @ 10:24pm
For that specific mod you'd want to change the new cat entry in the mod itself, since it replaces the vanilla cat.
Qev  [author] 18 Jan, 2023 @ 6:50pm
The readme.txt file included in the mod gives instructions on how to add compatibility with other creatures. I don't think you can change how much milk you get from milkable animals?
Meguroko Sylveon 18 Jan, 2023 @ 4:06pm
Does this work by default with [ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/cerealpirate/myworkshopfiles/?appid=975370 ] Milkable Cats [/url] ? & How do I make it work if not? Also how to modify the Amount of drinks you get as others have mentioned & is that changeable by animal, so that Cat Milk(as an example) give more or less Units of Drink than other milk? Thx!
Qev  [author] 10 Jan, 2023 @ 1:50pm
I'm kind of torn between realism and fort efficiency on that one. It feels weird to have 1 unit of milk somehow become 5 units of booze... but I guess it tracks with one meal's worth of plump helmets making 5 drinks. XD
Zen 10 Jan, 2023 @ 12:10pm
I notice this produces 1 unit of drink per reaction. That's a fifth of the efficiency of just using fruits/plants - It's the same as using seeds. I've already altered this because that's just not viable if you want to use milk as your core alcohol, but I'd definitely suggest ramping up that output. Even a small fortress cannot produce this drink faster than they can drink it with the current numbers.

Also remember that you need to make a new world for mods to work.
Qev  [author] 16 Dec, 2022 @ 9:10pm
@VikkelEekhorn Everything seems to be working normally as far as I can tell. It does require milk in barrels (not buckets), so if you're milking animals it may take some time for your dwarves to transfer it into barrels.
VikkelEekhorn 16 Dec, 2022 @ 5:05am
For some reason I can't seem to make any of these when I add this mod.

Levvy:
"The drink is foul"

"Do you want more?"

Levvy:
":D"
Levvy 13 Dec, 2022 @ 4:08pm
I have tried this drink in Kyrgyzstan... probably the foulest taste I have encountered! :D
