I'm afraid this mod isn't loading on DF 50.10... it's been 10+ minutes frozen on the loading screen :/

And I'm REALLY worried, as this world I'm playing's got more than 10 fortresses already

sike, i'll do it now. I never found a reasonable solution to the musth issue either, in lieu of seasonal aggression mechanics, but in honor of dwarven legend of elephants being ill-spirited monsters, I simply gave the male caste [PRONE_TO_RAGE:1] after removing the creature's [BENIGN] tag.

Good call, and thanks for the tweak, one of my favorites. I'll update it tomorrow

I am Stained_Class, nice you made a mod out of my thread. I'd also at least remove the [BENIGN] tag to elephants.

Yes, they'll snap at nearby dwarves, maybe other animals, and according to the wiki the rage-state jacks up their strength temporarily.

What does prone to rage do? Does it just give them a chance to become berserk and actively seek out and attack dwarves?

Finally. Also, love picture.

No clue, haven't looked, but Genesis is pretty comprehensive, so I'd err on the side of "yeah"

Will this conflict with Genesis changing animal entries?

The hogs I'll note are not *as* disagreeable as the legendary hippo in this tweak. ([PRONE_TO_RAGE:10], vs the hogs' [PRONE_TO_RAGE:1]) Though wild boars are known for being particularly aggressive when upset! Historical spears for boar hunting actually featured a 'crossbar' partly to keep an injured boar from running /through/ the impaled spear to attack the boar hunter.
Pigs in general can be a surprisingly potent can of whoop-butt if not treated with respect. Either way, in Dwarves it makes the surface a little more !fun!

Can't speak for hogs, but this absolutely fits for hippos. They kill more people every year then any other animal.
In the bible there's a mountainous monster called the Behemoth, which scholars have realised was the writer's attempt at describing a hippo. They're basically mythical water-monsters come to life.
