saw something like this on reddit this could be the same mod this is exactly what i've been looking for cause trying to manege 250 soldiers does get quite tedious plus having them camp outside or in my base does give the base quite a nice bit of life thank you so much

I found my own solution, well, something that works. Instead of doing Bodyguard 0, I gave it a contract that's completely new (hang out in a bar). This wipes the Bodyguard AI off completely. So I guess they needed to have a new task to replace Bodyguarding with - instead of trying to change the hours.

It's not working. Ugh. I've done AI Contract: Bodyguard 0 and I've tried Change AI: Bodyguard 0. Not working.

Hey, I was wondering if you could help me with something. I'm working on a mod but I don't know how to end a contract other than letting the time run out. Is there a way to terminate a bodyguard contract?

I made a sergeant faction so that relations with other factions don't interfere and because of dialogue limitations they cannot be allied to a faction they recruit from. And you're right about the price, I already have a better system that is easier and also more efficient to implement.

One last thing, the dialogue and options could be much more precise and cleaned up.

For example: When hiring a character, they should state their price and you should have the option of saying no. It seems that there is no such option... there's an automatic purchase of 200c, yeah? Just food for thought.

Also, the Sergeant I encountered was wearing a Holy Breast Plate in the great desert. They don't seem to have a tie to the UC. I would suggest if you make the character a part of the UC faction, maybe call the High Sergeants or something similar, due to the UC already have "Samurai Sergeants."

Anyway, I've loved the idea since the inception. It's an unused system in the game and you've made it work. Respect. I'd love to see an expensive Mercenary Sergeant.

I haven't gotten deep into this yet, but from what I can see I have some questions. Should you have a Sergeant faction? It seems like this mechanic you've assembled could be used for Faction rewards exclusively, like leading their armies as their General, you know? If I were you I'd link the ability to talk to Sergeants to the ally status of nations and have them be exlusively Mercenaries and Faction characters, instead of having their own faction "Sergeants." Just from my perspective, a military has to serve a government, cause or philosophy...

Reminds me of The Free Army mod (whatever name the mod is actually existing under, I don't know), which is kind of a proto-version of this. Maybe you're the same creator or perhaps you were inspired by that mod? Cool anyway... the problem with the other mod is that it wasn't rooted in the game world - it was a kind of added ally faction for testing? Hmm.
