Noticed when testing over 5 year long forts, would start to run into issues. But seems like a lot of mods/the game in-general is struggle with 5 year+.
Unfortunately, the power ability that lets creatures pretend to be gods only works on humans. If you're nice to a human civ ruled by a semimegabeast, it could visit and hang around for a while, but that's about it. As for a creature joining if you treat it well, I've actually looked into that and the only real way to do that is to give a sentient creature the ability to be tamed. However, it causes some super weird and annoying behaviors and if they've ever killed a dwarf they'll still be hostile no matter what. I do hope some of those bugs are fixed soon, I'd love to have them be recruitable.
