Living Gods

Description
Have you noticed that the terrible semi-megabeasts are sentient beings? Yet they seem to only care about smashing stuff and never have any desire to settle down or pull any clever tricks. This mod changes that, allowing all semi-megabeasts to pretend to be gods to take over human civilizations. There's not really any other way to make them interact with the world, but once they succeed they begin to act like normal civilized creatures. Also, I've given them (exceptionally long) lifespans, allowing them to fear for their mortality, plus a few unique tricks for each one if they join a nation. As far as I can tell, they will still sometimes leave their civilization to attack your fortress, but they behave really strangely when doing so. That said, if they arrive as part of a siege, they are a force to be reckoned with. A well equipped minotaur or a iron-plated giant can pose a far greater threat than their savage cousins ever could.

Also check out my other mods!
Strange Secrets: Adds a number of unusual new secrets for people to discover in place of necromancy.
Bit of Diversity: Gives a bunch of sapient creatures the ability to join civilizations.
Bit more Diversity: Builds on BoD by giving some of those creatures civilizations of their own.
Arcane Metals: Adds a number of magical metals with unique applications for you to mine, forge, and trade.

I had a world where after 100 years humans were entirely replaced with ogres. My guess is that two ogres joined the same town and started breeding like crazy. Literally thousands of ogres across hundreds of villages

Possibly might be causing long-term game crashes or conflict with other mods causing long game crashes
Noticed when testing over 5 year long forts, would start to run into issues. But seems like a lot of mods/the game in-general is struggle with 5 year+.

Should be a vanilla feature. I had a giant become a priest in an adventure mode game I had a while back, but I'm pretty sure it was a bug. There was a massive fight, though I can't remember if that's because the non-priestfolk viewed the giant as a hostile despite his giant-size priestly robes or because I decided to attack him lol
