@Pink Panther, Since the new update this addon doesn't seem to work. Can you please update this mod to work with the new update?

I agree with the comment below this, you can just use the alpha model use these textures and make the eyes green tbh.

could you create an alternative version of this model, moving the bullsquid's eyes sideways like in HL? (I love this model version)

@Vassago Rain, sorry to hear it's causing trouble. I had to do a lot of trial-and-error to figure out how BM uses the world spit decal textures in multiple places, the other being the hands when attacked. I thought I had that issue eliminated, though.

Out of curiosity -- does the problem happen consistently, or only on certain maps? Also, have you tried from a fresh, non-previously saved game state?

This is an amazing mod, but the blood and guts on the player's hands/weapons is completely broken, and more often than not show up as pure white.

@Artemy: Yes, this mod re-institutes footstep sounds for the Bullsquid. These are not the same as the ones that exist in the stock BM directory (I didn't like them very much)

Hi Cellulose is bad Starch, thanks for the feedback.

The best way I would imagine to do that is to decompile this model, decompile the corrected/improved hitboxes Bullsquid model, use the bounding box information from that mod (I think it's in the .qc file, IIRC) -- recompile.

Alternatively, you could also copy the non-eye materials to be used with the default model (the UV maps are identical to the base game's model) -- The teeth, eyelids, inner eyes, won't be present, though.

This is wonderful and a distinct step up from vanilla. Is there any way on a player's end to make this mod compatible with "Corrected and Improved Hitboxes" (i.e. to correctly apply the latter's hitbox changes without overrighting this mod's skin)?

@Anticitizen One - If you have the mod installed, in Hammer you should be able to choose "Skin 1" for the model/bullsquid entity.

@Pink Panther Unless if I have to use an different branch/version then it be the reason it works for a short period at time. I even put it in my customs folder. Either that or it could be my fault that the mod could not be working because I haven't been really checking on which version some mods I have installed should be on.

You'll have to do some texture editing since the 2006 model uses eyes on the same texture sheet as the rest of the skin (which I repurposed for the eyelid geometry).

@Melisarc18 -- sorry to hear it's giving you trouble. I've found that Black Mesa has a caching mechanism, and doesn't like when new models are inserted atop an existing save game.

You might have better success launching a new game from the same chapter or map.

(Also, be sure you aren't using any other mods that would overwrite the bullsquid model)


@Skyguy -- same might apply to you, if you started a game/made a save with the mod enabled you should try a fresh game. The Black Mesa workshop has historically had weird quirks with cached assets.
