@Mavik i get that alot, i can see everything just fine, but i am playing on a laptop where you can control the screen brightness so that makes it difficult for me to see how much light to add, especially here where i wanted to have this sorta night astethic.

Why would you make the map so unlit and blue? You can't see almost anything!

The aesthetics/music alone make this a top 5 NE chamber for me. I like how the longer angled panel structure allowing for retaining 4-block-height momentum was used twice with the third panel in the first set. Whereas it looks like a mere escape route, it serves a far more important purpose! I don’t know how the usefulness of the floor/ceiling area at the end of the map eluded me the first time.

All in all, this is a very cool implementation of the angled panel momentum conservation mechanic. Though I did miss the high platform above the grate wall for a bit -- maybe some signage pointing up there wouldn't have hurt.

It’s unfortunate how some people’s displays (like Hazellius’) aren’t quite up to the task of handling low-light maps like this. The ledge boundaries were a little hard to see but I made sure to keep my distance, just to be safe. I didn’t even know there was goo in this map until I looked a little more closely at one pit 😅I would also say that the high ledge at the beginning of the last area should have been highlighted more, because I kind of discovered it by accident - and it is a vital piece of the puzzle. But other than that, no complaints from me about the low levels of lighting personally. It does make me wonder if those who go for this kind of aesthetic should… maybe just make things a little brighter for the people with inferior displays/settings though. Balancing the intended aesthetic with those sorts of considerations isn’t very easy though, and it’s easy for even pros to fuck up, so I can understand.

Difficulty: 3.5/10
Enjoyed: 8/10

I can agree with Hazellius. Not the Point with i couldnt see anything. I mean with giving hints with lights so the player can better see where to go and what to do. Short and mid difficutly map.
Thumbs up.

I agree that it was quite dark on my display, but it was a fun little No Elements map. Thumbs up.

@klaus.sfc01 It's all good. Just trying to give constructive feedback :)

@Hazellius yeah i hear that alot it seems to be a PC thing though i am using a laptop on high brightness because of the light shining into my room and there you don't notice how it would look for people with low brightness settings. I apologise

A decent No Elements map and a lovely aesthetic. I just wish you had placed your lighting much much better. Even at max brightness at night on my screen it was unpleasant to navigate because there are barely any strategically placed lights. I kept falling into goo pits that I couldn't see (and even when I knew they were there, I fell into them because I couldn't see the ledge), and twice I got stuck simply because I couldn't see an essential throughway.

A good low light map is possible to make, but it requires a good handle on directing a player's eyes to what they need to see, like places they need to look up or need to know that it's possible to go there, and especially to emphasize ledges that drop the player into hazards. I'd highly recommend fixing it, because the gentle blue hues look great and are pleasing to the eyes. It even makes me want to learn how you did it so I could make an RBG lighting puzzle map

I finally did it!! I got stumped a few times but finally understood. Nice one!

Ok so I tried to put an example by doubling up the spoiler & co thing but it took that as just a request to block the words LOL.
Have a look in formatting help next to the emoji button if you need an example
Blarfnarg 22 Jan, 2023 @ 1:47pm
A I looked that one up after having looked at it in the formatting help section and all you gotta do is type the word "spoiler" but in square brackets then the text you wanna hide then "/spoiler" in square brackets at the end of what you wanna hide, like so EXAMPLE TEXT

Yeah that matters alot aswell btw how do you cover stuff on steam i always wanted to know
Blarfnarg 22 Jan, 2023 @ 9:13am
Ah-ha! I figured it out it seems portal orientation matters when jumping into the portals , very clever (p.s. not sure if that counts as a spoiler or not so I covered it anyway) thanks for your help!
Blarfnarg 22 Jan, 2023 @ 3:52am
Right, I'll give that a go thanks :)
klaus.sfc01  [author] 22 Jan, 2023 @ 3:39am
@Blarfnarg maybe you do the jump wrong depending on where you jump from you need to jump through the angled panel idk why it is like that it's just portal 2 i guess
Blarfnarg 21 Jan, 2023 @ 10:34am
I can't tell if I'm just being dumb or if I'm experiencing glitches with this as every time I try and make the first jump between the first two angled panels I always end up landing on top of one of them or just hitting the top of it so when I come back out the other panel I don't even have the momentum to jump across the gap again. I really have no clue whats going on here can anyone help?

A cool map has been created! This is a difficult task. I've been thinking about how to get there for about an hour now. It's a really weird way. Well done map created a challenging task.

It's funny how everyone had problems with some moves idk how i never get those somehow =: i should let people playtest more
mikatastrophe 18 Jan, 2023 @ 4:05am
I enjoyed this one, despite its size it turned out pretty straightforward but I like the use of backtracking and every move felt at least somewhat interesting. With no elements maps, at this point I think all the possible moves are already discovered, so while nothing used here was completely new, at least it was arranged in a new and interesting way. Nice map overall! Just a bit tedious with the amount of quicksave-quickload required to execute some of the moves, the engine decided to be a little unreliable at times. Thanks for creating! :p2cube:

No lol ducking isn't needed and i am not sure where you needed to use that xD but if it worked for you :)
Sloi 17 Jan, 2023 @ 1:49pm
Nice one!

(Required ducking for one or two operations to go smoothly, but I expect you anticipated that.)
