@jodamester70,
Haha! Funny to hear that. It is definitely a very lanky momentum puzzle. Glad you were able to beat it...by surprise
jodamester70 27 Jun @ 12:48pm
I kid you not, I completed this by accident. I was literally just trying stuff, putting my portals in different places at different states of momentum , then boom. I had no idea you had to hit the angled panel to bounce into the hole , it just happened.

@zigzagtenniscoe, definitely a weird one. My first attempt to make No Elements and I wanted to make something that was more or less unique. I should try re-making it.

My workshop is full of lots of bad maps with good creativity. That's the only thing I'm good at. I think my "Portal TUBER" series and my "Caddisfly" map are the best things on my workshop at the moment

Blindrun
You certainly do get points for creativity and aesthetics, but as you've admitted below, the techniques are far too unreliable sometimes. Nobody No-One summarized it quite well in their comment: obviously maps like these require unconventional techniques. But how unconventional is too unconventional? Where’s the line between workable and unworkable? Maps like these that blur that line with techniques that only work sometimes… yeah, I dunno. It wasn’t super hard but it wasn’t super easy either. The solution was quite satisfying though.

I was wondering how the heck to get the portal on the surface below the angled panel - which I figured was necessary initially to allow me to portal into the angled panel and using my momentum from the floor to launch me up after I’d gained enough momentum, entirely forgetting the angled panel wouldn’t send me COMPLETELY sideways . But my impromptu decision at the end of this blindrun was the answer to that. :)

Difficulty: 4/10
Enjoyed: 6.5/10

@spaceminnow, eh, it's really not worth it. It was my first attempt at the "No elements" style of puzzle, but it is very execution-based
Spaceminnow 25 May, 2024 @ 6:14pm
This is going to take a while...
I will come back to this one...
jandlml 28 Dec, 2023 @ 9:24pm
well definitely needed the walkthru on this one. took me many tries but i managed to get out. im happy when that happens :steamhappy:
jandlml 28 Dec, 2023 @ 9:08pm
oooh ive never been great at this type of map. i can do the simpler ones but this looks difficult. i will give a try though

@Nobody No-One, Thanks for checking this one out. I completely agree with you. It was my first no elements map after playing the No elements collection, so I think I tried too hard to do something unique and never-before-seen. And that portal shot was more obvious in the initial release but players found an unfortunate jumping skip that changed the geometry, Not my best work.
Nobody No-One 26 May, 2023 @ 9:56am
Cool concept, and very unique and clever. I found it rather frustrating, though, because there are a bunch of possible flings that almost work/work half the time, and it's not at all clear that the angle of the shot at 0:16 in your video is actually possible , so it was very hard for me to tell if I was going along a dead end or if I was doing a correct move that's only semi-consistent.

@Hazellius, well this was a refreshing comment. I always fear comments will be about how broken my map is, but it is very rewarding to read someone voice their appreciation. Cheers! :p2blue:
Hazellius 9 May, 2023 @ 8:40am
Well this was a refreshing little NE map. I've gotten so used to flinging based puzzles that I can usually visualize them quite quickly, and I've gotten a bit tired of the same old patterns I see again and again, so this was a playful breath of fresh air. Cute anagram, and easter egg too :p2cube:

@spielsatzfail, Happy you got it! I do think it is misleading and a problem with the design for the exact situation you described (testing the angles when not in mid-air). I think the original design was better, but the quarter voxel ledge was close enough that people were able to exploit an unintended jump. I no longer have the original file so I can't make changes, but you are welcome to have a stab at making a map with similar moves to tEen lemoNs yourself with the improvements you mentioned--I would love to see that! Thank you for the pleasant interaction :p2cube:
SpielSatzFail 6 May, 2023 @ 8:13pm
You're right, it works. Hm. Pulled it off easily now.
On my original run I was standing right at the surface to check for angles and it didn't work, that's why I barely even tried from the distance in mid air. Well, for me this is at least misleading after I played maps in the past with smaller tiles that only worked lengthwise. Btw I was wrong, it's not half a tile, but a 3/4 one ^^
If I could make a wish then the momentum part would be perfectly aligned lengthwise, so the portal shot would be crystal clear ;-)
E L Y T R O N  [author] 6 May, 2023 @ 7:52pm
@SpielsatzFail, sorry you can't get it. There is a slightly smaller portal surface now than in the video due to people cheating and breaking the map with a jump. However, I just checked and am still able to pull off the same sequence of moves to reach the exit. Some portal magnets help the shot at 0:16 be possible. Hope you can try again and get it. Thanks for at least giving it a chance :p2aperture:
SpielSatzFail 6 May, 2023 @ 5:23pm
Not a problem with the reflex/skill part, but... the solution video seems to be outdated. The upper floor surface is only half a panel now, which means I can't shoot a portal other than lengthwise which again means that the portal shot @0:16 is impossible... how???

Haha, thanks for continuing to check out my stuff! This one is a little tight to execute, but glad you seemed to like it!
Solinoxia 22 Feb, 2023 @ 12:28pm
Those are fine lemons, would definitely make lemonade with them. I went back a 2nd time to get the companion cube.
E L Y T R O N  [author] 29 Jan, 2023 @ 10:21am
@DanceDown, haha okay glad it worked!
DanceDown 29 Jan, 2023 @ 3:03am
Found it :D I was blamed for my horrible actions towards the cube
DanceDown 29 Jan, 2023 @ 2:56am
E L Y T R O N I didn't see the easter egg, so I guess I'll play it again (and look for it)
E L Y T R O N  [author] 28 Jan, 2023 @ 10:06am
Thank you DanceDown! Did you retrieve the easter egg?
DanceDown 28 Jan, 2023 @ 3:51am
I love it! Very cool chamber

grrh. Thanks for letting me know. That certainly defeats the coolest move in the map.
Don't worry, I won't reprimand you!
hub 27 Jan, 2023 @ 9:48am
Yesterday I received a reprimand for a similar video.

@hub Thanks!

Darn it. Do you have a video?
hub 27 Jan, 2023 @ 5:23am
 but strafe-able.
Aneonen 25 Jan, 2023 @ 12:13pm
I did indeed! It was quite cute. I spent several minutes trying to trap myself in the little cubby to no avail.
E L Y T R O N  [author] 25 Jan, 2023 @ 12:00pm
Thanks Aneonen, glad you figured it out. Did you retrieve the hidden companion cube ?

And sorry quatrus/bullfrog--I promise to get back to more relaxed puzzles next. It was just a good exercise to get out of my comfort zone for Klaus's contest.
quatrus 25 Jan, 2023 @ 8:36am
Sorry - no fast portaling skill. Thanks
bullfrog 25 Jan, 2023 @ 2:41am
Clever puzzle, but I'm not very good at doing it. However; that's my problem, not yours, so
Aneonen 24 Jan, 2023 @ 10:12pm
Nice no-elements puzzle! Quite interesting to see a setup which abuses the player smacking against the edge of a portal to switch to a vertical fling. I performed the solution exactly as described by the solution video. I did find a few flings to be a bit inconsistent, but there isn't much that can be done about this in the puzzlemaker, I imagine.
E L Y T R O N  [author] 24 Jan, 2023 @ 11:22am
@klaus.sfc01, Ha! I guess I sold myself short. I am glad you liked it!
klaus.sfc01 24 Jan, 2023 @ 7:40am
what are you talking about??? this is awesome it's really satisfying to pull of and the most creative no elements map i have ever seen :)
