I'm gonna have to unsubscribe from this mod because it seems to just not work at all as intended. Either zombies stand around trying to attack the fences but failing, or (with setting disabled) they can attack the fence but can't damage them, because for some reason you tied the fence health with that setting.

If you simply separated the fence health into a different setting, this would fix the problem. And honestly, since the "modded thumping behavior" seems completely broken, you should probably disable it completely, and just go with the giving fences health.

I'm serious about giving $5 if you fix this.

I also want to note that the default health values you have set are way, way absurd. The best wooden walls the player can make have 850 health, and the best metal ones have 1070 health. Yours have anywhere from 12k-50k health.

I enabled it again and changed the "zombie amount to thump" to 2... no improvement. Zombies just group up against the fence without attacking it. Sometimes they do decide to attack. Is this just how the mod is supposed to be? I would really prefer it if zombies just attacked the fences normally, as they do when the setting is disabled (vanilla behavior), but I also want them to be able to damage the fences.

Could you please add a setting or something so I could have the best of both worlds? I'd even be willing to throw you 5 bucks if you made it happen.

I disabled the "modified zombie thumping behavior" checkbox and that fixed zombies not attacking the walls, but now they're not *damaging* the walls...

Hey, having a problem with this mod. Zombies are mostly just walking into the fences without attacking them. I had the "zombie amount to thump" all set to 1.

We had this mod on a high pop server and multiple players experienced severe frame rate issues. Mod was removed, issues persisted, due to fences still being destroyable where cells had been loaded. Is there a work around?

If he updates this mod to 42 I'd be surprised seeing how this mod is already planned to be a feature in build 42.

they just walk into it and keep walking, they don't thump, would turning off modified behavior let just a single infinite health zombie break down a fence? That'd be fine with me, normally a zombie would break his head open long before they destroy a fence.

Bro...for some reason one of tall wooden fences(that curvy one) is always has 500 hp no matter what sandbox options did i put. Your mod is really good but please, fix this one issue.

Trying this mod on a server, and despite changing the fences health in setting, it still in default state, which is 30k health. Anyone know the problem?

I found a multiplayer fix that works, at least host side until i can test later, I just tested as the host.

edit the default values in the mod's sandbox-options.txt instead of changing the values in game, and it works. I do not know if you need to generate a new world or not, but I did, and it worked.

Anyone know if this makes the metal fences with the concrete base destroyable? Like the ones surrounding the relay station in cell 34x29?

Hello everyone. First of all I want to thanks @Pao for this mod.

Works great in Singleplayer, but in Multiplayer (Host mode), the sandbox options for adjusting the fences health points don't work. The settings for the amount of zomboids needed to start doing damage seems to work well since I used it for testing purpouses. The mod itself work, the fences can be (eventualy) get destroyed, but they have a lot of hp and is hard to balance and pair with other mods in MP.

I don't know if the mod is still getting updates, but at least if u are wondering if this mod works in MP, well, u now know what to expect :p

Just out of curiosity, what does everyone set their wall health to? 30000 seems pretty excessive for some walls considering that player built walls only max out at around 1000, if I'm not mistaken.

To anyone having problems with zombies walking into fences instead of attacking them, try disabling "Enable modified zombie thumping behavior" in the sandbox settings. It worked for me.

The mod is not perfect, sometimes with structures like the black metal defenses that are in Rosewood they are left walking infinitely, although in the school, which a large part of it has white metal meshes around it, it seems to work without problems. In the configuration I set that 1 zombie is needed to start hitting each defense, and I leave the defenses of 20,000 at 500, those of 50,000 at 1250, those of 30,000 at 750, and those of 12,000 at 300. It's just that I was bored of falling into the trap of gathering zombies around these defenses and feeling totally safe since without this mod the zombies don't hit them.

Mod is good but there are incompatiblities with either mods that change zombie trip chances or ones that change fence health, not too sure. Using an incompatible mod just makes them rub up against the fence instead of hitting it, but when the mod is not fighting with another it works very well!

This mod is a cool concept but for some odd reason zombies don't attack the fence, instead the just run infinitely into the fence.

gets really laggy when there are a lot of zombies banging on one area of the fence but other than that good mod. unfortunately had to remove because it was too laggy for everyone. zomboid cant handle insane pop + this mod at the same time

Zombies do not attack fences, but try to pass through them, it does not work, put the mod at the start of a new world. Thank you not credited.

not sure whats going on yet, although i have tested it quite a bit and havent found it as an incompatibility although i may be wrong, but the squared top wooden fences like the ones going up to LV destruct into a form that has only the edges missing and no longer can be destroyed further. has any one else found out what causes this issue or and how to fix it.

Yes, I also wanted to ask you to extend this to doors, gates and barricades if possible. It it really quite dumb that a single zombie can bruteforce his way through a sheet metal barricaded window or window bars.

really didn't like this mod, I tried to configure it but the zombies only go the other way but it doesn't destroy the walls, whether metal or wood, don't do that, and I started my game from scratch and the zombies still don't do anything So if someone can help me how to configure or get it to work correctly, thank you very much.

By default, fences made of metal require 15 zombies to gather and start deteriorating. Please take note if anyone reports that it's not working.
This can be modified in the sandbox.
