In the RIS forum there is a link to the Rome Total War community and on that, you'll be able to find Danymok. I guess you could try contacting him through steam too
Aristoxenus 27 Aug, 2024 @ 3:47am
Oh thx man, I appreciate it!, Im also on discord but somehow I can only have access to the Imperium Surrectum forum as I have no idea how this thing really works haha
Milkerman  [author] 26 Aug, 2024 @ 10:30pm
I just sent him a message on discord and talked
Aristoxenus 26 Aug, 2024 @ 1:26pm
All right, is it better to send him a friend request or comment inside his comment (in a mod)?
Milkerman  [author] 26 Aug, 2024 @ 12:04am
You'll have to talk to Danymok for that. I've not created any units for my mod as I don't know how to make any. I've borrowed units from his mod.
Aristoxenus 25 Aug, 2024 @ 9:15pm
A pleasure bro. Hey, I am looking someone to reskin the Iberians/Spanish, I have the names description of unit but my computer has no more capacity of modding . Could you do it for me (when you have time, of course)
Milkerman  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 12:54pm

Aristoxenus 24 Aug, 2024 @ 5:54am
All right, il see what I can do about it
Milkerman  [author] 22 Aug, 2024 @ 7:51am
@Aristoxenus I'd be looking for maybe 20 different settlement names and then 10 tribe names.

The Britons have the name convention of people being named: The Iceni or etc and of Brigantia.

So that's what I'm looking for. A list of maybe 20-30 locations and maybe 10-20 different tribes.
Aristoxenus 22 Aug, 2024 @ 6:51am
Reply to first message:
I have a list of 5-6 different cultures names.
The ones I struggle with is mostly the Vasconic names
( I have Celtic, different eras, I have Ibero-Vasconic, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Persian, Medieval Spanish, Some Scythians, Germanic, and some Phoenicians,Punics,)

Second message:
Yeah sure I could. I already noted the names of Scotland from Thrones of Britannia. I don't know if they are the same as 270 BC as the region was quite remote, even during viking times. But I think they might be different due to Gaelization.

How many settlements would you need for your Pictland?
Milkerman  [author] 22 Aug, 2024 @ 12:43am
@Aristoxenus, you mentioned before that you're up for helping with looking for information.

The Expanded mod is adding 5 new factions in the next update that is currently in development. Would you be interested in looking up names of settlements in Scotland and Ireland during the 270 BC time period?

I'm looking for a list of settlements, not to add them but to create family names for tribes for the Caledonian faction.
Milkerman  [author] 21 Jul, 2024 @ 1:06am
@Aristoxenus, I'm not sure how to change the names to be honest, I've used only the names that the base game has provided. It's something to do with the descr_namelists.txt file, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it.

Everytime I've tried to add names, I've only gotten errors.
Aristoxenus 20 Jul, 2024 @ 11:16pm
@Milkerman

Btw, how you make or have access to cultural names? I always wondered how moddes brought it up
Milkerman  [author] 20 Jul, 2024 @ 11:13pm
@Aristoxenus,

Thank you for the offer, but the Expanded Version of the mod has really veered away from historical and is more based on the way the base game is in terms of factions.

What I'd be looking for is more modding help than information help as I sort of make that up as I go along. Outside of the faction names.
Aristoxenus 20 Jul, 2024 @ 6:31am
No problem man, and my offer stands also if you need help for the current mod you working on.
(My PC has limited capacity so my help will be about bringing you informations, if its acceptable for you)
Milkerman  [author] 19 Jul, 2024 @ 6:28am
@Aristoxenus, Thank you for the offer, but I won't be making this mod, at least not for the next while. I'm still working on Cultural Conquest Expanded as I don't consider it finished just yet.

If someone wants to take on the project of bringing this mod into BI, I will be happy to offer them help however.
Aristoxenus 19 Jul, 2024 @ 4:09am
Milkerman, if you want I can help you with cultural informations about a possible mod for BI. But to be more accurate some regions would have to be made.
For example
-Vasconic culture , city of Iruna
-Gaelic culture, adding Irish cities
-Pictish culture, northern Pictland
Milkerman  [author] 18 Jul, 2024 @ 11:45pm
@Zouveau, uuuh, I guess we could, but it would be quite the undertaking to build. Due to the way the mod works, I'd have to build it up from scratch essentially. It's not a venture I'd be willing to do, as I'm still working on the Expanded version of this mod.

But if someone were to start the journey, I'd be happy to help them.
zouveau 18 Jul, 2024 @ 10:31pm
can we have cultural conquest for barbarian invasion?
Aristoxenus 9 Feb, 2024 @ 3:11am
Ohh ok, oh im sorry
Milkerman  [author] 9 Feb, 2024 @ 12:23am
@Aristoxenus, I actually haven't added any new units to the mod, all the units are from the base game, I've only adjusted how they are recruited to be honest.
Aristoxenus 8 Feb, 2024 @ 1:53pm
Thx, so my units ideas is to make the Iberians "More barbarians" more with that other European tribes have, what i mean is that I don't feel it is a barbarian faction, except the naked fanatics they lack more "torso" warriors. I was thinking to transfer units of "Swordsmen Warband" to the the faction of Spain or reskin non armoured Iberians, maybe like the Slingers or Archers (if they had).

I feel that CA, in Rome 1, Rome 2 and Rome Remastered didn't made the effort of giving proper units to the Iberians, in any vanilla they have painted warriors or archers, while even Hellenic factions have these.
I can help with my knowledge and the naming/unit description don't worry

This is something il also write on the discussion because many modders seem to forget the Iberians/
Thx for your attention, Slainte
Milkerman  [author] 8 Feb, 2024 @ 12:50pm
@Aristoxenus Feel free to offer suggestions
Aristoxenus 8 Feb, 2024 @ 12:37pm
Thats a good idea.
Can I give you some ideas for a certain faction?
Milkerman  [author] 8 Feb, 2024 @ 10:45am
@Aristoxenus it does not, they are separate mods, this is the older version that only uses the base game. The other one uses a map with more regions and has 7 new factions in it as well along with more features. I'll be bringing those features into this version in the next few weeks as I want this want to be as good as that one, but a lite version.
Aristoxenus 8 Feb, 2024 @ 8:35am
Does it has to be linked with the other mod of the same name? I mean, is it a submod of the other one?
Milkerman  [author] 4 Aug, 2023 @ 6:17am
The religious requirements are for all the different factions
Austere Hare 4 Aug, 2023 @ 5:21am
hmm is this only for rome? i play as greeks :steammocking:
Austere Hare 4 Aug, 2023 @ 5:10am
hmm i might try that, thanks is it just a building file change then? imm getting wuite good at modding now :steamthis::steamhappy::lunar2020halodragon:
Milkerman  [author] 3 Aug, 2023 @ 1:25am
@ixgon, sadly you can't, as both mods share a lot of the same file changes, you could however look at the export_descr_buildings file and add the changes here to Rome Expanded
Austere Hare 3 Aug, 2023 @ 1:07am
hmm can i combine this with rome expanded?
Lehy 8 Jul, 2023 @ 9:24pm
Sir, you freaking rock. xD
Milkerman  [author] 6 Jul, 2023 @ 11:55pm
@Lehy, if you go to the Gaul update, I'm slowly incorporating that mod into it. I'll be using the mod to create a bunch of new factions to add to this mod.
Lehy 6 Jul, 2023 @ 4:43pm
I really love this mod. It's what I always wanted. Would love to see Danymok's Rosters Expanded with this... it would be a blast
Milkerman  [author] 26 May, 2023 @ 3:19am
The bug happens after I port over to the new map mod, this mod seems to be bugless in the basegame, which is nice. Did you have a nice and multi ethnic army for your victory?
Chronos 26 May, 2023 @ 2:47am
That is excellent, however i did not encounter any bugs at all. Also i used the mod to win a parthia campaign for the achievement :Dossenus:
Milkerman  [author] 26 May, 2023 @ 1:35am
That's great to know, perfect. Once I figure out the map crashing bug, I'll be releasing the mod on the bigger Mundus Magnus map.
Chronos 26 May, 2023 @ 12:48am
I got it fixed, great mod btw i like it
Milkerman  [author] 25 May, 2023 @ 7:26am
@Chronos, do you want to add me and then I can maybe help.
Chronos 25 May, 2023 @ 7:09am
It's not showing up in the mods launcher
Milkerman  [author] 13 May, 2023 @ 2:19pm
Hi @paco-cl,

It's not, as both mods edit the export_descr_buildings file, but you could add the changes from that mod to this one quite easily by comparing the two files and adding in the bits that are missing. I won't be adding any more updates to the mod so I can't imagine that any issues should arise if you do this.
paco-cl 12 May, 2023 @ 10:53am
is it compatible with recruitable generals?
Milkerman  [author] 12 May, 2023 @ 12:02am
Hi @jgoodman53stj,

While I see your point, I view it this way. Dominant culture shows who's living in the city, while the buildings just show who designed and built the cities. So if you have a city that was built by Romans, and conquered by Egyptians, but is now filled with Egyptians, well, you won't be able to recruit Romans from it.

But if the city is still filled with Romans, you should be able to get them still.

Or that is how I see the culture mechanic vs building mechanic that you're proposing.
jgoodman53stj 11 May, 2023 @ 2:00pm
I have been trying to do something similar to this for 6 months. The only thing I think needs to be improved is if you allow the foreign troops to be removed only when the foreign military buildings are replaced instead of by dominant culture. It would incentivize you to decide between military and economic/public order buildings in a new province and helps balance the game.

But in terms of this, the Mundus Magnus Map with additional Cultures would make this shine.
Milkerman  [author] 29 Apr, 2023 @ 2:03pm
@Xardas, I guess the way I built that mechanic was such that if a place has a level five government building, you can't ever convert it to your religion fully, but I can see the problem you've pointed out. The only solution I have in mind is that religion is tied to temples only. That was you can keep the local religion at all times, and not worry about it being spread by the government building.
Xardas 28 Apr, 2023 @ 12:38pm
Hey :-) Awesome mode but i have question....is there some way to keep religion of the regions as it is? Iam playing as Rome....i want for example Carthago region to stay as Carthago religion.....but...the goverment building slowly overtkaes it to Rome.....shouldnt Temples have more conversion %s then Goverment buildings? Now it takes only couple of turns, and the native religion is out....I really want more control...to religion of regions to stay as it is.
Milkerman  [author] 29 Mar, 2023 @ 10:54am
@Kizer Could I? Definitely. Will I? Nope. It'd be a lot of work, this took like a whole month to fully develop and that mod has way more factions. Plus I believe it already has a religion system in it, though I don't believe recruitment is tied to it. It's not a particularly hard thing to do, but it will take a lot of copy pasting.

At the moment, I'm thinking of what sort of updates to do for this. Maybe a bigger map, so porting it to Kirsi's map or another one? Maybe some ancillaries for the characters related to the religion/culture? I'm not really sure, so I've just sort of done nothing the past while on this.
Kizer 29 Mar, 2023 @ 9:28am
Could you make a Cultural Conquest version of RTR?
Milkerman  [author] 18 Feb, 2023 @ 4:22am
Hi todowd1,

It definitely is possible, I believe a tool even exist to make this possible. I've not used it yet, and don't know if I personally want to or not, as I really enjoy the colour chaos. But if enough people pipe up about it, I think I'll implement it eventually.

If you want to do it in your own copy of the mod, you can join the rome total war community discord and they can help you find the tool to make the colour changes happen.

Thanks,
Milkerman
