The Britons have the name convention of people being named: The Iceni or etc and of Brigantia.
So that's what I'm looking for. A list of maybe 20-30 locations and maybe 10-20 different tribes.
I have a list of 5-6 different cultures names.
The ones I struggle with is mostly the Vasconic names
( I have Celtic, different eras, I have Ibero-Vasconic, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Persian, Medieval Spanish, Some Scythians, Germanic, and some Phoenicians,Punics,)
Second message:
Yeah sure I could. I already noted the names of Scotland from Thrones of Britannia. I don't know if they are the same as 270 BC as the region was quite remote, even during viking times. But I think they might be different due to Gaelization.
How many settlements would you need for your Pictland?
The Expanded mod is adding 5 new factions in the next update that is currently in development. Would you be interested in looking up names of settlements in Scotland and Ireland during the 270 BC time period?
I'm looking for a list of settlements, not to add them but to create family names for tribes for the Caledonian faction.
Everytime I've tried to add names, I've only gotten errors.
Btw, how you make or have access to cultural names? I always wondered how moddes brought it up
Thank you for the offer, but the Expanded Version of the mod has really veered away from historical and is more based on the way the base game is in terms of factions.
What I'd be looking for is more modding help than information help as I sort of make that up as I go along. Outside of the faction names.
(My PC has limited capacity so my help will be about bringing you informations, if its acceptable for you)
If someone wants to take on the project of bringing this mod into BI, I will be happy to offer them help however.
For example
-Vasconic culture , city of Iruna
-Gaelic culture, adding Irish cities
-Pictish culture, northern Pictland
But if someone were to start the journey, I'd be happy to help them.
I feel that CA, in Rome 1, Rome 2 and Rome Remastered didn't made the effort of giving proper units to the Iberians, in any vanilla they have painted warriors or archers, while even Hellenic factions have these.
I can help with my knowledge and the naming/unit description don't worry
This is something il also write on the discussion because many modders seem to forget the Iberians/
Thx for your attention, Slainte
Can I give you some ideas for a certain faction?
It's not, as both mods edit the export_descr_buildings file, but you could add the changes from that mod to this one quite easily by comparing the two files and adding in the bits that are missing. I won't be adding any more updates to the mod so I can't imagine that any issues should arise if you do this.
While I see your point, I view it this way. Dominant culture shows who's living in the city, while the buildings just show who designed and built the cities. So if you have a city that was built by Romans, and conquered by Egyptians, but is now filled with Egyptians, well, you won't be able to recruit Romans from it.
But if the city is still filled with Romans, you should be able to get them still.
Or that is how I see the culture mechanic vs building mechanic that you're proposing.
But in terms of this, the Mundus Magnus Map with additional Cultures would make this shine.
At the moment, I'm thinking of what sort of updates to do for this. Maybe a bigger map, so porting it to Kirsi's map or another one? Maybe some ancillaries for the characters related to the religion/culture? I'm not really sure, so I've just sort of done nothing the past while on this.
It definitely is possible, I believe a tool even exist to make this possible. I've not used it yet, and don't know if I personally want to or not, as I really enjoy the colour chaos. But if enough people pipe up about it, I think I'll implement it eventually.
If you want to do it in your own copy of the mod, you can join the rome total war community discord and they can help you find the tool to make the colour changes happen.
Thanks,
Milkerman
