That was a lot of fun to figure out that one move  Favorited !

Glad I came back to this one. It was sitting in my queue for a long time after it stumped me a while back. Very cool puzzle.

Took me four days to figure out the final move I was stuck on. I even went and played the Simple Vertex version to hopefully understand what I was missing, but it didn't have the aspect that was causing me issues. When I eventually thought of trying what ended up being the solution, I thought 'that can't be how you're supposed to do it, can it?' but I had no other options, so I gave it a try and it worked. Well made map that forced me to think outside the box. Starts off straight forward, but gets progressively trickier once you get into the final leg.

Excellent work!Fun and enjoyable,I haven't played cyhborg's version, but when I saw that cube behind fizzler,I thought there would be some respawn tricks in Rail Platform...hopefully I was beaten by that knockdown ,very satisfied!

Wow, just amazing. It takes me literally few days to figure out the trick. Thumbs up!
Jacklynn 22 May, 2021 @ 10:57am
Wow, what an amazing puzzle! The knock-off trick literally took me days to figure out and I'm really satisfied with the outcome.
kromwell 20 Mar, 2021 @ 3:43pm
Great map. Take some time. :]
AnarchistPrime 20 Aug, 2020 @ 3:34am
Excellent. Difficult map requiring pre-planning of moves. I was stumped by the knock-off manoeuvre (had to go through a playthrough video). I had worked everything else out and knew I had to get that particular cube from the ledge to complete the final steps (which I had worked out in my head). I'm still undecided whether a sufficient number of players could be expected to figure out that manoeuvre without either a hint or some kind of mini tutorial built into the chamber - perhaps if I had given it more time and come back to it with a fresh mind I would have figured it out. However, it would have brought huge satisfaction if I had figured out that one little mechanic for myself. Thumbs up for me.

Apologies for not having a link to cyhborg in the description, fixed now. The extended version with the knock-off move and a more proper layout was his idea.
bullfrog 19 Aug, 2020 @ 1:27am
Still a brilliant puzzle.
Aneonen 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:35pm
Really like this interpretation of Vertex. The knock-off move was very cool.
Psychological Atom 4 Aug, 2020 @ 10:05pm
Very awesome map indeed!

Sorry about reposting this, messed up a spoiler tag in the first one :p
Anyways, brilliant map. It took me a while to solve. That move where you had to kick the regular laser cube off the grating with the blue cube not only involved great portal management but it was also a clever and unique idea. That, combined with a nice sequence of steps, is what made the map stand out to me and that deserves a favorite :]

'men' ... :D
Polux 14 May, 2020 @ 1:38pm
You have the right to be sentimental anyway.
I should have added this in my message ; nobody is perfect...but everyone goes to it.
I love you mans. Peace.
Polux 6 May, 2020 @ 2:35pm
Please, that's not sentimental at all. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with that.
Well done SRF! lol
toncica  [author] 6 May, 2020 @ 1:46pm
Oh, you guys...

...making me so sentimental I almost want to play Portal 2 again. Stay safe. :)
64 6 May, 2020 @ 9:26am
Ohhhhhh, having seen the intended solution, that's actually a really cool puzzle, and explains why there's the second cube, as well as the grate there. That's rather clever.
Polux 6 May, 2020 @ 5:49am
I'm impressed by the goodness shown by the one we are both agree to call our "Portal father".
Having said that and however, I notice a little shyness, even sadness. It's possible that toncica is just bored by assuming this role without finding his own master, or without reaping the seeds he sowed. It's strictly natural and healthy. I know that more than 'anyone'.
That was a simple Polux's feeling of what he had on his heart since a little while. But he can be wrong. I don't expect any reply to this.

Oh my, we can see some 'strange' things on Steam nowadays ...
RedSilencer 5 May, 2020 @ 3:49pm
@Sunset When you do figure/see the solution, take it as a chance to give some more trust/credibility with mapmakers like toncica. When you're new and you get stuck I know it can be hard to trust a designer that the solution is actually "fair", since you don't know it and there's a lot of junk on the workshop. Anybody can post a level and most people don't have prior experience with level design. Good rule of thumb is, if the design looks good and clean and your possible, legal maneuvers are clear, odds are it's going to be a good solution. It'll be more worth your time to read into the design and think about the reasons why things are the way they are. Most of the time it'll just be a clever maneuver you haven't considered yet and then you learn from it and build experience.
toncica  [author] 5 May, 2020 @ 3:12pm
Perhaps you didn't see another way because of something you have never done before. This puzzle is not easy, for less experienced players it might be unsolvable. A few comments down there is a video link by Mikeastro. I hope you're not upset when you find out what needs to be done to solve the puzzle.
64 4 May, 2020 @ 1:22pm
I clearly don't understand the puzzle then, as I managed to get my way into the upper area, and had the exit door open, but found no way to be able to both have the exit door open and be able to get up to it.
toncica  [author] 28 Apr, 2020 @ 5:10pm
You can pretty much ignore the light bridge until the very last stage of the puzzle. Its purpose will be clear by then. The light bridge itself doesn't get you to the last stage.
64 27 Apr, 2020 @ 10:21am
I couldn't figure out how to cross the final gap in that last room, as there's nothing to get you over, even if you smuggle both cubes up. I also question why you added a light bridge, what purpose does it serve for the chamber?
Modoc73 18 Jul, 2019 @ 3:34pm
Wow trying to figure out how to get second cube down took for ages. Nice map, thanks.
Mikeastro 1 Jul, 2019 @ 5:01am
Played on stream. Very cool map
Gigo 16 Feb, 2019 @ 12:25pm
Good puzzle, but one of the steps stumoed me for a while.
Nobody No-One 8 Oct, 2018 @ 9:30am
Excellent elegant map with few elements. For some reason one of the first steps ( shooting a portal here , then jumping down the hole before the platform comes up again ) stumped me for a looooonnng time. I finally figured that out today, and everything was pretty easy from there. I do think it's a bit large and empty (had to use 3x or 6x speed a lot), but that didn't really impact my enjoyment of the map. Thumbs up and added to favorites.
lfairban 4 Oct, 2018 @ 9:00am
Great puzzle. I was frustrated for the longest time, then I finally focased on the axial problem, and it all followed from there.
Joric 7 Jun, 2018 @ 4:33pm
@toncica, thanks! I skimmed through 500+ maps for the last year, probably learned most tricks :)
Joric 7 Jun, 2018 @ 4:04pm
@toncica, nah, we still need to respawn the cube a couple of times because of the fizzler.
toncica  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 4:01pm
@Joric, could be slightly more efficient but yes it's the intended solution. :D
I think you're relatively new to the game (apparently you have just played Redsilencer's "introduction to the workshop" collection according to your previous comments) and seeing you tackle the difficult chambers in such a short time is mighty impressive. Well done!
Joric 7 Jun, 2018 @ 3:56pm
@toncica looked up @Polux solution, looks like it's possible to get rid of cube sacrifice altogether, just drop it from the ledge and fling it up if needed (also his walkthrough is a bit shorter) https://youtu.be/uNLKDUnEuyI
Joric 7 Jun, 2018 @ 3:28pm
@toncica looks like intended solution (still >5 minutes even on rewind) https://youtu.be/38LAFvKHc4Y

really really clever, but that droping cube from ledge is bit weird. :p2blue:favorite:p2cube::p2orange:

Brilliant puzzle. Took a look at @LB's hint, but it still took me a long time before I worked out how to do it, and when I did do it, it took plenty more thought before I realised how that was helpful! Big thumbs up and added to favourites.
LB 30 Jul, 2017 @ 10:21am
Excellent puzzle. Took me a while to even think of how to get the cube down from the ledge because I generally eliminate possibilities involving physical interaction since they're normally unintended. Very clever subversion of expectations. I played it on stream and was rather distracted and tired, so it took me hours to get anything done, but you can watch it if you want: https://youtu.be/y3BDBqE1Seg?t=47s
toncica  [author] 15 Jul, 2017 @ 2:31pm
It seems you chose the right time to play after all bugs have been fixed. Thanks fro playing. :)
Libbybapa 15 Jul, 2017 @ 9:24am
Very good puzzle. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks.
toncica  [author] 6 Jul, 2017 @ 8:07pm
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed. I took some hints from your video for minor modifications, disabled auto-respawn, colorized cube.
HugoBDesigner 5 Jul, 2017 @ 6:47pm
Awesome puzzle, toncica! One of my favorites! I completely overcomplicated one of the moves, so here's my overly-long playthrough:

Thanks for the map! Thumbs up :p2cube:
toncica  [author] 18 May, 2017 @ 8:49am
Thanks a lot! You exposed a serious problem. Nobody would be forced to search for the intended solution with this glaring loop hole. I apologize for being careless in my previous update.

Map updated. I encountered a new bug in the latest BEE2 which would have made the map unsolvable, so I had to use the older version of BEE2. My test run was successful, I hope it works for everybody.
Cave Johnson 18 May, 2017 @ 12:30am
@toncica, sure no problem. I took a couple of screenshots, they should be visible here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561197975910227/screenshots/

The angles are such that you can activate the elevator without ever putting a cube on the far ledge and therefore don't need any trickery to knock the cube off the ledge

toncica  [author] 16 May, 2017 @ 6:48am
@Cave Johnson, can you show me your unintended solution?
Cave Johnson 15 May, 2017 @ 10:24pm
Amazing map as usual toncica!
I think I found an unintended solution. It's just about possible to activate the elevator with both cubes on the main platform.
Sadly I wasn't smart enough to solve it properly.
Rector 21 Jan, 2017 @ 9:34pm
Bloody brilliant!
Shooting the top wall of the exit while falling off the elevator is a little hard for me to pull off but other than that, that was a superb map!
Thumbs up and fav'd! :p2cube::LIS_star:
metadavid 29 Nov, 2016 @ 4:11pm
Thanks toncica. I have been playing a few of your maps recently, most of which are slightly beyond me, as was this one, I had to use the walkthru. I have played a lot of maps now and this seems to be the level I am drawn to trying to solve. I have also been working on Demon Arisen's puzzles, solving about half of them without hints. Yours, I think a bit lower success rate than that, but I am learning a new level of logic, illustrated by this one, where you have multiple manoevres in different 'zones' to make. This design is quite something!
