Pool Spawn Fix

hey so just like another guy said, for me this mod causes all murky pools on my map slowly dry up, might have to do with the climate, and also I don't see any of the spawns.

I did also try out a "no aquifers" mod at the same time, the two combined might be what causes this somehow, but I didn't think murky pools relied on aquifers. or somewhere in the change of biomes the author made murky pools dry up somehow, maybe only in certain biomes, I haven't checked other parts of the world.

rivers do still appear to stay filled, though I don't see any of the frog or toadmen spawns yet, that could just be unlucky rng though.

that said If you're on the fence about this mod I'd check for that bug if it's going to ruin a save for you before you get too far in.

For anyone confused, the mod doesn't claim to put any of these creatures in ponds. It fixes the issue (of certain creatures never spawning) by making the creatures in question spawn around lakes. That is to say, the big wet things with the rivers flowing in and out that your fort might look out onto, not the small wet things dotted around your map.

I have not yet tested it myself, but the problem that the mod claims to solve is the creatures not spawning , not the issue that prevents non-vermin from spawning in pools.

That said, it might be an idea to edit the description to make that somewhat clearer, as it does seem that there is some confusion.

Fluff, this mod cannot do what you describe. It must be another reason like temperature.

This mod simply modifies creature definitions and biomes.

When I use this mod, all the pools generated on the map are empty, and if filled with water they will slowly drain. I'm not seeing any of the spawns mentioned either.

@gingervitus999:
It was in the non-Steam version too.

Was this bug in the non-Steam version before the Steam release?

Psh, it is but an honor to assist the Head Craftsdwarf in his labors.

@Baku:
Fly men should appear. They at least used to in previous versions. One world I generated had 11302 of them.

This is definitely a must have for vanilla. Wondering though, if Vermin-man creatures would then be possible to fix for their spawns. Fly men for instances are developed but never appear.

A literal must have. Its a shame that modders have to fix bugs for the developers.
