@Happiz Good to know your stand on it. On an unrelated note can you make legacy rings an option. I'd like to do more casual play with vaccum ore bag cheese.

I get noticeable lag while using the accessories in certain areas of my world, it might be a conflict with other mods, but I'm not sure.

Fantastic mod. Vanilla Terraria is great, but as a Sonic fan, this mod makes the game so much more enjoyable and feel more "right at home."

Roll, Spin Jump, Spin Dash, and Homing Attack are all staples that are implemented well. I do think Homing Attack range is way too long, but maybe that's necessary since later bosses have crazy mobility and projectile attacks. I don't know because I'm still in pre-hardmode.

I prefer to play without Boost or Lightspeed Dash (which should be renamed to Lightspeed Attack, btw), though. They have tendency to misfire when I don't want them to. If we could turn off specific skills with skill tokens, that would be great.

I also think either of the Sonic acc should negate fall damage by default. It's so awkward to worry about fall damage while being Sonic. Running Shoes giving you wall slide (Shoe Spikes) would be great too, since Sonic can do that in many games.

In any case, thank you for this great mod!

If I had to be honest, I'm unsure if I ever want to add Hyper to the mod just because, to me at least, it would be kinda the same show and dance as getting Super Sonic, that being defeat the bosses and get the emeralds, that and also it would be hard to add attributes to it that would make it stand out enough to not make it feel like a rehash of said previous transformation. Not completely opposed to the idea yet, but that's where I currently stand.

So I was thinking Hyper Sonic could be what is used for Calamity. Then have S-cal and Exo Mechs be able to dmg you. The First Super emerald could drop from Moon Lord.

mod having compatibility with some mods, i think especialy with calamity, when you jump in air, fps drop is very noticed, i think it not only with calamity problem, bc active with stars above include same issues

Or atleast add there spines, (Knuckles would make u glide, u get tails tails which make u glide or fly for a bit, or mighty gives u more defense or immunity to spike like projectiles, shadow can have a skating animation and silver can make u hover

Thank you. The Spin Dash thing may be possible, but going up horizontal walls would probably be easier to implement than going on ceilings since I wouldn't be fighting the gravity.

Your complaint about the lack of bonus movement abilities gives me the idea of items that would help make the movement more dynamic, like throwable balloons that allow the player to gain extra height or smthn

I've completed an entire run (all boss and event bosses defeated.) with this only using sonic's movements and chaos emeralds.

Something I noticed is that you have the movement but it lacks the fun of it, besides the green chaos emerald there is no springs, or balloons, the spin dash will just stop at a wall instead of going up it to help make round a bouts possible.

Although I'm not even sure if that's possible to add. Either way the run was really fun, good job.

Actually not a bad idea. Minions aren't dyed the normal way so there might be something there worth looking into.

also, to do with the ball and dyeing it
im assuming the ball is a projectile, and thus probably wouldnt be able to be dyed. but what if you borrowed code from the critter shampoo? i have no idea how terraria modding works but i thought i should try to help

Nah, special stages have been removed due to their clunkiness (aka me not properly figuring out how subworlds work). Chaos Emeralds are instead obtained from most Hardmode bosses.

@Wildberry Honestly I forgot to even consider that, so maybe I'll patch it in, at the very least jot it down.

@Basil To dye the shoes you just put the dye in the dye slot next to the accessory, as usual, but with the spines you have to put the dye in the head slot since it technically takes up that slot. The ball itself doesn't get dyed, in case you're wondering, due to me just not being to figure it out in code :/

To be honest, I planned on just leaving the mod as is after the last update because I wanted to focus my attention on other projects or activities, but seeing how much feedback this mod's getting about certain issues and inconveniences, I might return to it periodically to just do a couple more touch-ups.

Honestly I love this mod, but there are some things that kind of make the experience feel "weird", First thing is lack of controls and configs, Having all the abilities set to a singular keybind is just kind of odd, I get how its fun but homing and lightning dash through enemies gets mixed up a lot (which can lead to taking contact damage unwillingly), and not being able to unlearn abilities (I wanted to not use lightning dash but yk I couldn't) is also a pretty bad con. And for double tap boost It overrides regular dashing which is another thing I wanted to take off but couldn't thats about all for now. Not sure if this mod is still being a priority project but I really like the concept of this mod and hope it keeps getting updated as its really fun and and to play with and has amazing potential to being such a bigger mod!

Yeah its happening to me too, I have a playthrough with 2 of my other friends and we're getting the same issue. Every enemy is dropping ring bags and Help remotes instead of skill points and rings

Hey the new wrath of the gods calamity mod dropped recently and its effected the sonic mod in multiplayer servers, for some reason after we had a full moon enemies started dropping ring bags and omochao remotes but no rings, we think for some reason its dropping omochao remotes instead of rings cause we are getting 15 to 20 at a time and they dont stack.

Who knows, we could even have more character-themed accessories. We have a Sonic accessory, so why not moveset accessories for characters like Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Metal, etc.?

what if the abilities had hardmode upgrades?
like homing attack -> frontiers homing attack (spam ability button to repeatedly hit an enemy if it doesn't die the previous hit)
spindash/roll -> spinboost (frontiers/lost world spindash) (hold ability button to maintain your rolling speed)
light-speed attack -> sonic drive (team sonic's team blast, heroes) (hits every target at least twice)
boost -> rocket boost/powered boost (frontiers) (faster, launches hit enemies, more damage, maybe can be extended by holding left/right on the second direction press?)
stomp -> energy stomp (basically, massive horizontal shockwave)

i just noticed this, but it's a very nice touch that the chaos emeralds' abilities match their abilities in Sonic Superstars, overall very nice mod (shredder of worm bosses)
