broken in v66.

Wrong format of color. Should be RED_GREEN_BLUE. Error parsing key [255,255,255,],

seems all the resources have color values assigned incorrectly. I was able to fix clay by changing it to this, but now coal is mad lol. Pls fix

Open CLAY.txt and you can see TERRAIN is set to WET: 1.0 and NONE: 1.0. If you change NONE: to 0, Clay wouldn't spawn outside of 'wet'. This scales from 0.0 to 1.0, so you can have 0.5 and dry terrain would spawn clay at 50%. The same applies to Gems in water, or minerals in mountains.

Then once you're done tweaking these variables, just open the game and disable my mod and enable your own. If you have other mods enabled, check they don't conflict and cause any issues

If you copy my mod files from the steam workshop directory and move them to your user folder, you can tweak the numbers and have your own custom setup. Roughly, this is what you would do:

1. When picking mods in the SOS Launcher, hover over the mod name to see what the file path is, then go there and copy the whole last folder (which will contain V64, V63, and _Info.txt)
2. Open the following folder and paste the folder you copied above there: C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\songsofsyx\mods
(note that this assumes your OS is on C:\ drive
3. In the folder you just made in the path above, you can now open and customise the two files that dictate world generation:
- \V64\assets\init\config\GenerationSettlement.txt
- \V64\assets\init\resource\minable\ [all resources are here]

Hey @Zenchi thanks for the feedback - I'm going to copy and paste some comments I made on my other mod to share how you can perfect map resource generation for your own personal tastes so that tweaking on such a specific level isn't dependent on me, but can still base it off of my mod.

Per your July 3 comment, until I become a pro at the game and want a more Vanilla experience I like having a decent amount of all deposits (with similar ratio's of vanilla). Once I become a pro I would like a version of your mod which matches vanilla with a moderate boost though.

Just a heads up - map generation has changed a lot in V64 and it looks like the developer has forced the player to choose a main luxury resource when settling their base, but also scaled up how much resources spawn. I have the option of forcing the map to spawn all rare resources regardless, but I'd be interested to hear any opinions of this, because the quantity of resources that are spawning are drastically higher.

Does having a huge amount of all special resources feel like cheating, or just making your dream city?

I've just uploaded a version of this mod that spawns caves as well. @McAwesome I don't like playing with caves enabled so let me know if this new version does the trick, I can scale the cave/tunnel amount and size up if it's not enough.

Ooh, I would like a few caves, but have them be very large (And not touching the outside of the map)

@jordicat @McAwesome - Would you change anything about the default cave generation? There are attributes related to cave AMOUNT, SIZE, and TUNNELS so they can be tweaked a fair bit.

If you give me some feedback as to what you'd like specifically, I will add a separate mod with those settings for you. The two mods would clash so you'd need to enable one or the other.

Awesome mod -- thank you! And I agree with McAwesome; caves add a bit of uniqueness to otherwise bland mountains. Would love to see an option to include them again :)

Are you using any other mods? This mod doesn't touch latitude in any way. I just tested latitude with only this mod active and I was able to generate overworlds with latitude working properly.

I think we are talking about the same thing, the latitude setting when creating a new game, but then you said no it doesn't work, just use the latitude setting? I tested it, if I remove your mod and use latitude I get warmer or colder worlds, with your mod though that setting no longer works as you said earlier. That's all, I was just asking for it to work if possible :P.

@BlazedBunny - that functions independently of this mod. This mod controls the resources and map generator, not the overworld. You can just use the northern (colder) or southern (warmer) settings to get more of those climate tiles if you want them, but you will likely still need to reset the overworld a few times to find the perfect spot.

@BlazedBunny - I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but this mod works by altering global map generation settings and as of this version there aren't any latitude/region specific settings I can tweak.

That being said, I'd still want this mod to make the same map changes for Dondorian dream base locations whether the climate was hot, cold, or temperate.

Let me know if you're chasing a different kind of map and I can see about publishing a different mod for what you're after specifically?

@GunthorNC, the resource settings in this mod (including natural and mineral) are maxed out already, so I can't tweak it any higher :)

Any setting's I can change to effect the number of resources it spawn's? I find myself rerolling dozen's of times to get map's with "Easy mode" enough rich deposit's of Iron and Coal next to each other where it isn't going to be a massive pain setting up an industry.

@tomargh Personally, I prefer no caves, even with the caveat's it necessitates. When I want to build my mountain home, it's nice to have a clean slate to build it on. The deep resources is a bit of a bummer, but omg it was infuriating having every raid come in and get stuck inside some random cave, behind my cities wall.

Hey @GunthorNC, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Currently there isn't a way to make the map any bigger, hopefully the developer makes this available for modding or in-game settings in the future.

Regarding the resources, I just did some testing and while it is possible to add very small caves with no tunnels in order to spawn resources inside the mountain, you will still have resources forced to the edge of the map.

Allowing caves would have less resources spawn at the edge of the map, but still some. Even then, you'd still have pockets of minable resources deep inside the mountain in those caves.

Not sure what is more preferable to you? I like it when I don't have to dig epic tunnels to get at the mineables and re-roll to get less spawned at the edge of the map.

Great mod. Does exactly what I wanted a mod to do. Def scratches that itch. was getting tired of every raid coming in through the east caves and getting all bungled up.

Any way to make the maps bigger? They're plenty big enough already, but... More always is better.
