Also just a side note but, the original mod author is currently in the process of updating the original mod for 1.6 (I chatted with them on Discord for this next bit) although that's currently stalled due to IRL financial issues for commissioning the rest of the art they want for the mass update, as well as not currently having the Odyssey DLC.
So is it coming? Supposedly.

I'm having the same issue... When multiple cannons of different types are built some will automatically target enemies while others have to be force-targeted. If only one type of cannon is built, all have to be force-targeted to fire. I really hope this gets fixed if it is a bug...
Would you ever consider adopting "Remote Tech" as-is as well? It's long overdue for an adopter, and was one of the best mods in the game when it was up to date.
