iBrRus

Is it posible to use the code on a mod with more then one ModID, but it has the same Workshop ID ??

I asked a question a couple days ago, and erased it because I "figured out" the problem I was experiencing.. I'd still like to know this one thing tho... how do you use this mod? does it auto check and provide a pop-up if there's a problem? is there a clearly written set of user instructions I have missed because I'm blind? lol

fwiw I'm using both the autotsar mods, and the MH Armored MK II in my game. it seems that if you log into the game while in the MH MK II it causes a bunch of errors for the Tsar complete library. it doesn't seem catastrophic.. when I left the MH and relogged the errors went away.

is this mod for mod makers or to see the compatibility between mods in a server?
Fashy 29 Jul, 2023 @ 4:09pm
I installed this on my dedicated server but can't find a log file like the image. I also don't get a popup when i join the server. Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Computercraft is actually a really healthy way to learn LUA at first, people who shit on it just haven't learned the mod lol
.MemeMan 2 Mar, 2023 @ 2:08am
@eromanov87 I'd suggest instead they learn in a proper IDE, I don't want to imagine what bad practices learning LUA in Minecraft would create.

This will be invaluable for salvaging my sanity in the days of QA to come. Many thanks @iBrRus o7

@Unidentified - Learn it! It's actually one of the easiest coding languages to learn. To see your code realtime and test, Play minecraft with computercraft and create basic programs on it

I wish I knew Lua

Interesting, doesn't solve netcode goblins though.
(by which I mean errors despite identical files, which would normally pass this inspection method.)

this will be useful to check out any problems between mods

You are a god among modders

Aaaaaanyway friggin thumbs up favorited and subbed, i can see this plugin here will give many modders a few years of their lifespan back!
Gashimahiron 27 Feb, 2023 @ 6:17am
@Yrm1e Made my own "pirated" modpack a while back to have all my homies playing the same game with all the personal little tweaks i did to loot dist, vehicle limits and some other small beans.

This is perfectly fine to do until you decide to be a goofball about it and make your amalgam of other people's tweaked and probably horribly outdated mods public :bleach:

I tend to instruct my friends to just drop whatever pack i write up to their mods folder instead of using workshop, then yeet it when they gonna play elsewhere, apparently yielding great success.
Yunus 26 Feb, 2023 @ 11:41pm
Nice mod well done sir
bikinihorst 24 Feb, 2023 @ 1:25am
Then there are also the issues that arise when people have a modpack (or multiple) and want to join a server that has the mods properly set up. PZ gets a full list of the exact workshop items it is supposed to find the mods in but instead of just looking in that list it takes the first with the same name it finds, which is usually a modpack. Takes time finding out which one (mainly because people need to show the exact message so you know the conflicting workshop item) is the pack and which one to unsubscribe.

@iBrRus guide looks good - thanks! I will check on the merging of the list this weekend.
bikinihorst 24 Feb, 2023 @ 1:25am
it is So ThEY dO NoT HaVE tO UpDatE aS OfTEn

Which is exactly how you create and keep outdated mods in circulation. One month into PZ MP there were automated tools for reboots available for everybody but a year later the workshop is still full to the brim with these packs and the comment sections of the originals even fuller of people reporting issues that have been resolved weeks or months ago. In most cases they aren't aware of this so it is rarely their fault, but it wastes time for the people who get bombarded with "does not work" style "bug reports" anyway.
Yrm1e 23 Feb, 2023 @ 11:50pm
damn
iBrRus  [author] 23 Feb, 2023 @ 11:45pm
@Yrm1e, that's right. And when such a modpack appears on the user's computer it can overwrite the original mod and cause conflicts.
Yrm1e 23 Feb, 2023 @ 6:21pm
Pirated modpacks? Do people just rip the files and reupload them or something? Bruh lmao

If you have any suggestions for fixing/improving this guide, write them in the comments.

Love your work as always, my slavic friend
bikinihorst 23 Feb, 2023 @ 7:53am
i can understand that reasoning, yeah. i get lots of "bugreports" (if one can even call it that) sent by people who repack stuff and instead of refreshing their pirated versions they decide to write me angry messages on discord in the middle of the night in the vein of "mod broken, fix it". so many hours wasted diagnosing the issue with an error happening in a line that does is not the same anymore in the current version. will you be providing a guide on how to use this, for the ones who are making a report? that way one could just send them to the guide and await results.
iBrRus  [author] 23 Feb, 2023 @ 7:26am
Now any error information in mods, I will only analyse if the user activates this mod and sends me the logs. At the moment 90% of reported bugs in my mods are due to the use of out-of-date versions.
iBrRus  [author] 23 Feb, 2023 @ 7:23am
Once logged onto a server with a modpack, users will find that mods from the modpack are activated when they start their server or run a single game. If these mods contained bugs that have long since been fixed, users comes to the mod page and starts spamming with irrelevant information.
iBrRus  [author] 23 Feb, 2023 @ 7:19am
@bikinihost, this will not help in the fight against modpacks. Rather, the purpose of this mod is to get rid of the consequences of installing such modpacks.
bikinihorst 23 Feb, 2023 @ 6:49am
i like it, but would this not need to be included in the server mod list itself? most pirate modpacks are made by server owners and they would shoot themselves in the foot adding this one.
