Tabletop Unit Scaling

This is probably the best vanilla-style scaling mod, and I've tried them all. Although keep an eye out just in case any new unit DLC packs emerge randomly.

Thanks so much...was always annoyed how some strategy games make the infantry wayyyy to big

Thank you for the magnificent update. Will definitely check this out after i finish my current games with HEROES OF LEGEND by Devian and DOCS SCRAPYARD UNITS.

At last the latest TABLETOP UNIT SCALING has graced us in excellence and wondrous prowess! :coffeeTLD::Pizza::cherrypie::Gorkanaut:

Thanks for the reply _jo.nat_. Same here plenty of holiday fellowship and feasting. Take your time like HEINZ ketchup the anticipation is part of the experience, part of the fun. Happy Holidays! :coffeeTLD::Gauntlet_Ham::Turkey::SF_Sandwich::cherrypie::admech:

Yep I plan to do them eventually, just enjoying the end of year holidays

Fantastic work! Really captures a tabletop style giving a sense of huge armies in a vast world which makes individual hexes look as if they are covering very long distances thanks to the scaling. Buffing up Fortresses Of Redemption and city defenses are also great adding in another tactical layer where the player has to think of a proper attack instead of just bum rushing cities. Nice to see air units way up in the skies too ha ha.

Are there any plans to add the new ULTIMA FOUNDING DLC into the mod?

Thank you for the magnificent work and Happy Holidays! :coffeeTLD::Gauntlet_Ham::Turkey::cherrypie:

For starters, this page here is the Tabletop Scaling mod, not Epic. Neither of my scaling mods alter anything other the the unit's model size and you shouldn't be running both scaling mods together.

actually the heavy weapon squad aren't the only unit suffering. Most high tier units doesn't stand a chance, they get shredded by tier one units with more models. You do give high tier units more HP but they still using their vanilla attacks which is insufficient.
Raymond 7 Oct, 2024 @ 7:56pm
I only have your mod + epic scaled unit installed. They still have 20 HP and the same numbers of dudes from vanilla.
_jo.nat_  [author] 7 Oct, 2024 @ 6:53pm
The Astra Militarum Heavy Weapon Squad? It's completely fine on my end, including with the Workshop files. Please check your other mods to see if something isn't conflicting with it. If another mod affects the unit, make sure the load order is correct so this mod's scaling values doesn't get overridden by that mod.
Raymond 7 Oct, 2024 @ 3:06pm
I think you forgot to scale up heavy weapon squad dude
_jo.nat_  [author] 19 Sep, 2024 @ 4:27pm
I'll have a look

Any thoughts about scaling up the trees so they fit with the rest of the units?

I tried modifying the Forest.xml and used <trees clusterSizeMin="3" clusterSizeMax="6" scaleMin="2.5" scaleMax="4.5"/>

Which seems to fit pretty well

No worries! It was actually kinda fun seeing the models up close in Blender. The most tedious part was having to re-calculate all the scaling numbers for my Epic Unit Scaling mod which I also just updated (they're basically half what this mod's are)
Jargonaut 13 Aug, 2024 @ 12:24am
Awesome! Thanks for the update. Point 2 sounds like a pain in the ass to do. Appreciate the effort

Big Update:
- added new units from the Demolition DLC
- fine-tuned unit scaling via importing every single model into Blender with TOFFster's script and comparing every single unit to other units! This is as accurate scaling I can get without literally doing RL height measurements of the models!
_jo.nat_  [author] 30 May, 2024 @ 3:22am
Yep, I've gotta buy the DLC myself 1st though :P Spent too much on Star Citizen this month haha!
Zander_Mander 29 May, 2024 @ 8:01pm
Are there any plans to update this for the Demolition Pack units?
Jargonaut 21 Feb, 2024 @ 1:12am
Awesome. Thanks for the update!

Update:
- Added Drukhari.
_jo.nat_  [author] 3 Dec, 2023 @ 10:10pm
Thanks! I used to play the tabletop and I always hated how out of proportion everything is in Gladius myself
Jargonaut 3 Dec, 2023 @ 7:48pm
Nice! Looking forward to your updates. Your scaling mod has been great for my immersive experience with gladius
_jo.nat_  [author] 3 Dec, 2023 @ 3:07pm
I bought the DLC, so I'm now gradually working on updating each of my mods to include the Drukhari, RL spare time pending :steamhappy:
_jo.nat_  [author] 3 Dec, 2023 @ 3:51am
I plan to, but I need to buy the DLC myself first
Jargonaut 3 Dec, 2023 @ 3:47am
Hi Shinzou, just want to ask if you have plans on updating your scale mods for the Dark Eldar DLC? definitely enjoying your mods especially with the City+ mods for that sense of scale and looking forward to your update.
Jargonaut 23 Nov, 2023 @ 2:37pm
Thanks for the hint. I'll try that out. Also, great job on the mod!
_jo.nat_  [author] 23 Nov, 2023 @ 4:29am
It might be possible. You can always copy the mod over to your local mod folder and try and edit the unit .xmls
Jargonaut 22 Nov, 2023 @ 11:47pm
Hi Shinzou, is there a way to disable unit portraits altogether? or like make them really really small so I don't have to see them in the portrait box? I like having the units really small because I like imagining the details on them (i.e. imagining the guardsmen are mordians or scions are old school armageddon stormtroopers) and being reminded about what they look like kind of takes me out. If there isn't no worries. just wondering if there was a way.

Update:
- Removed the dependencies on Cities+ so players can use this mod without Cities+ if so desired... I still highly rate Cities+ however and it goes well with this!
_jo.nat_  [author] 29 May, 2023 @ 10:03pm
Update: added portraitZoomModifier and portraitFocusHeightModifier to units so their ingame portraits fit better; due to unit models clipping with the "floor" in their portrait, I went with a Starcraft style where portraits are often zoomed in, focused on units' faces.
_jo.nat_  [author] 25 May, 2023 @ 8:31pm
Update: added Firepower Pack DLC units
_jo.nat_  [author] 25 May, 2023 @ 8:19pm
Cities+ is required because I decided to use his city scaling assets including some custom FX
Tanksy 25 May, 2023 @ 7:59pm
Why is Cities+ required?
Nuu 27 Mar, 2023 @ 3:19am
Possible to make a version that doesn't require cities+
_jo.nat_  [author] 28 Feb, 2023 @ 4:57am
@Crux2 my apologies, this mod requires Cities+
Crux2 28 Feb, 2023 @ 3:56am
I'm trying to use this with TT Squad Size and keep getting a CTD when starting a new game. I've disable/enabled all other mods and traced it to this one. No clue why.
