I have been waiting ages for a mod like this!! so annoying trying to roleplay with an empire and ahving mismatched colored firing weapons being forced on my ships when I wanted a certain color to match my empire ship color and flag! This is amazing thanks friend! any chance it would be possible to do explosion/missiles colored and kinetic artillery and mass drivers? Only thing i wish most is to take away the turbo laser sounds if possible or add an option for us users that dont want the starwars sound effects thanks !:steamthumbsup:

Are you sure it's Real space system scale that changes the ranges?
I tested on my side with only my mod and real space + real space system scale activated and I didn't notice any change in range for vanilla weapons. And the fights are about the same with vanilla weapons and color cannons.

I will need to know what is the mod that changes the ranges so that I can create a compatibility patch

I will create a tutorial for changing weapon stats shortly.

in this origin i had the idea to lock out kinetic cannons and missiles/torpedos except for the energy based torps/missiles but the origin gives a +25% to Energy Production as the weapons use energy as a base much like how ships eat into alloys for maintainnence my point for this is the gas used to create the plasma packet fired out of the cannon

Hellion thank you so much for this awesome mod just one thing id like to suggest an edict or an event that the player can choose to lock out the kinetic cannons for these weapons so we can go with a more sci fi race that dumped kinetic weapons over more energy intensive yet cheaper weapon solutions.

or better still an origin and i had an idea of one called "Une Lumière Fantastique" which translated from french is "A Light Fantastic" the premise being that as you hit the stars properly the technology of the player world progressed to the point that kinetic weapons like bullet firing guns became obsolete and so instead of how the galaxy went traditionally with the kinetic weapons your race went for the flashier more energy demanding technology.

I loved the mod, I have a species with a lore that I invented for it and among the characteristics of the species is that they love the color blue, your mod really helped me to solve my problems of having to look for mods as a mental patient where they add energy weapons and that can be blue, thank you very much

I added civics to define the color.
I find that this is a solution that lacks elegance, but it is the compatibility friendly solution

I do wish there was a command or something to change the weapon colors. I had to get really lucky or find someone with the right color and change the shipset.

This is so very shiny! Too bad my game started chugging when I loaded into a file with this enabled. :/ Still, definite up-vote for being awesome.

Hm alright - hopefully the AI don't overuse them and there's some variety with ESC Next etc. I'm aware there's another SW Turbolaser mod but never used that either for the same reasons but this seems a little better due to the choice in colours.

Just for the benefit of others it might be an idea to show one or two pic's of the stats of the weapon components at least so people have a feel anyways.

Best thing to tell you and download it and test for yourself.

The thing that I noticed is that the searches happen too quickly for my liking. I will definitely change that later.

Afterwards I don't have the impression that the weapons are too powerful.
In addition the AI also uses weapons so you will fight on equal terms.

When you say they're probably not balanced... How unbalanced are they? Always wanted SW turbolasers but not at the cost of screwing my game over haha.
