But this mod is a bandaid way of disabling Boredom; would be nice to look into fire and rain stuff.
I just think it was a big missed opportunity by the devs not to tweak boredom to be something you can manage more instead of rolling your eyes because now you know you're going to gain sadness for being in base too long and now things will take longer to sort. I'm more in the line with you honestly wouldn't be bored unless you were literally doing nothing, since most of the time you're doing something, which would at least not make you as bored depending on the action.
Originally I just hated the mechanic as a mechanic, but obviously that came from the idea that if I'm trying to survive and I'm happy to stay alive by being indoors chilling and not bitten/injured/sick, I would just be grateful instead of 'bored'. The mechanic as a video game is just intended to push you out of your 'comfort zone' and force you to engage with the game, which I suppose would be fine if it didn't lead to plain irritating debuffs and stacked up quick as hell.
He did have a time of his life just then.
Glad to know my dumb little mod is actually doing great for people so far!
@Elijah
Lmao, I can look into it; throw it as a temp submod if needs be till I get around to the sandbox options.
@Alkashy
It shouldn't be too much of an issue since it's just a few lines of code.
Unless some other mod is just acting up but most I can say is to look at the console if it's still on going.
Maybe it just doesnt work for existing saves.
Agreed; I COULD understand if you got it from either (Literal) AFKing, constantly reading/sorting items. (Especially if Disorganized)
But like not just for being indoors, especially when ingame my character is building in base.
But otherwise, no problem!
Ah, I see; well just found in the official PZ how to update the mod for B42, I’ll sort it as soon as I can.
It does not appear as an available mod in mod list on build 42, I assumed it is treated as a not supported mod for now. Only a few mods are supported from the list I was using. This was one of the most important ones!
Anyway, I can wait, with holiday season approaching and all that! It's super early build still.
Does it not work in build 42 as it is?
I've been too distracted with playing multiplayer with friends to check and kinda assumed it might work since it's very simple in terms of code.
If it does or doesn't work for B42, I'd appreciate anyone letting me know assuming if I don't get time to after work.
If it doesn't work, I'll look into getting it to work.
Interesting. I tried chilling out in a house to see if the boredom would go away, but my character ended up maxing his depression stat so that was a flop. There must be another mod conflicting with this one. I'll try to figure it out. Thanks
I don't believe that should be the case.
If I recall most of these mods just work by reducing boredom to 0 every so often.
Idk if all mods are the same, but that's more or less what I went with as a simple bandaid.
At the moment I've not really thought of adding. Something like that, mostly since it kept the mod light weight to just focus on making it set the player's boredom to 0 constantly.
I can't promise it'll be a feature, but I'll certainly look into it.
@Ireallydon'tcare
Yeah, I can probably understand if boredom was gained because you were just sat inside reading skillbooks all day. But not if you're actively doing stuff.
That's partly why I'm looking more into trying to see if I can just outright rewrite the moodles with a mod, boredom just feels so... Boring.
I can prob get that as a tip thing up, but I'll prob do it ideally after updating the mod with more options to disable other moodles.
I planned for other moodles to be on, but mainly did Boredom since requested and in all fairness, it does literally nothing aside from making you get unhappy faster.
Thanks!
As for adding mid-game, it shouldn't cause any issues.
