@Kelloth: The mod only functions as described with crew construction disabled, but is still very much functional.
It functions in a similar way as the Compacted Long Term Storages do and this mod (along with its ETTM variant) are still being maintained :)

But perhaps the mod description could be updated to reflect this fact better.Thank you for your feedback.
It's just too bad that changing the profile pic is a royal pain.

Yes.
This mod was made in early 2023 before crew construction and way before resource collectors existed.

Back then this mod was literally the only way to be able to grab all the resources from the sundamage zone. Hence the name.

Please don't assume I'm dumb or something if you yourself don't even bother to check the release dates of this mod and of the resource collector.

Version 1.0.3 is now released. It changes nothing except the version numbers so the annoying popup doesn't appear anymore. This mod didn't need any other changes, however:

*** With the addition of crew construction, this mod will only work as advertised when crew construction is disabled! It can still be used to collect and store up to 50 resource nuggets though ***

@entity.horsedung: It should still work, I was actively using it last night. But if it doesn't, I will fix it.

Tbh, there's very little that could break this mod (except for some major change to core gameplay mechanics which I doubt the devs will want to change) so I'd be surprised if it didn't work anymore.

Regarding adding resources to Compacted Storages from other mod authors, I could but I'd probably need permission from them to do it. Personally I wouldn't mind doing it but I won't as long as I haven't been given the green light from the respective mod authors as I'd need to make use of some of their assets for the logos used for the storages.
In such a case I would probably create separate expansion mods as it would otherwise become impossible to maintain once I'd start making multiple mods featuring multiple resources from multiple mod authors :P

Concerning this mod and Extended Tech Tree Mod, I've been too busy with a mod featuring enemy ships which have upgraded ship systems from Extended Tech Tree Mod, adding the resources to this mod kinda fell to the backburner. But it would actually be a good idea. I'll put it on my todo list.

There is going to be a full (alternate) version of Compacted Long Term Storages featuring the resources from Extended Tech Tree Mod, it should be out within a day or 2 :)
I chose to not go with a patch as a patch wouldn't let me sort the order of the resources.

I suppose you're referring to the Asteroid Structures (with Stone) mod by Swefpifh?
I reckon I could make compatibility patches for my asteroid mods (and also the Compacted Stores mod), but I'm not sure if I'd need his permission to use portions of his mod. I could ask as I think he's also on discord.

For leaving nothing behind of any asteroid I use an updated version of Autominer (which I've been meaning to update for a while now, time is my main issue atm).

So, wasn't sure where to post this as it's multiple questions but since some of them pertain to this mod i figure i'll just post it here, Is there going to be an addon coming for resources from other mod's like the expanded tech tree mod you recently released? as well as i wanted to ask if there was a way to release an addon mod to change the stone part's of all the asteroid's to be minable like for the stone structures mod by Swefpifh? only ask as leave's nothing behind of the asteroid for the game to have to render then so. if not all good i just figured i'd ask. :)

@C_D_R: I considered it, but you can already build other structures to collect small amounts of processed resources. If you want to collect steel plates you can just build structure triangles (cheapest costs just 1 steel plate). Small thruster to collect 3 coils etc.
if you need to pick up 1 coil, you can activate your coil factory to procude 2 coils, then build a small thruster to collect 3 coils (the 2 you just produced and the 1 you wanted). It's more tedious but it is possible.

It's definitely possible to make a mod as you suggested, though it would be somewhat less useful imo.

since is the only mod that can allow pick up item from the damagezone.. could it also allow to pick up Components ? such as metal plates and wire ect

@C_D_R: You can't send your crew. You have to sail close to where the resource nuggets are and build the storages. When you build something, it will also consume resources floating near your ship and not just once that are already inside your ship.

We didn't have any building that uses up raw resources (except sulfur for bombs), so getting loose resource nuggets inside the sundamage zone is impossible as no building exist in th base game that uses up raw resources.

This mod fills in that gap. Now you can build using raw resources so these nuggets are now obtainable.

For now, this is literally the only way I can think of to make something like this work. Others have tried and failed.

And this is not perfect but it's thus far the only mod that can do this.
