I'll think about it. Don't play radios for about a year now and don't want to go back to such mods myself, but I'll try. In general it is very easy to make a submod, so if you or someone else wants to do it for my mod - I will be only in favor and will post a link on the mod page
The specifics of creating modifications are such that I have to specify each unit to which I apply the new ability. So I can't just specify "all". In theory, I can make a submod that applies my mod to units from other mods if you specify them.
Yes, it makes the lizard units better, but I think they need it. Their infantry and cavalry don't have any particularly interesting traits and are far from the best in their characteristics.
I can't say if AI will become stronger on the campaign map, since I haven't studied whether units' abilities affect their effectiveness in automatic battles
I think that instinct (for survival) should be part of the Lizard´s, at least for the lesser breeds. makes sense.
In your experience...is this a buff for player (I would say yes, defenitley) and for AI?
Yes, that's what I'm talking about. My changes don't make them cowardly, rather the opposite. They reflect their body's ability to adapt. If they take damage, their defense and morale go up, to the detriment of their attack, reflecting their desire to stay in line and try not to die a stupid death. In doing so, they will fight longer at the expense of these bonuses.
In the name of the great plan!
Saurus are not robots, even game mechanically they can panic and run away from the battlefield.
I don't think it violates the lore from the point of view that they are perfect predators and warriors. They should know that while they are fresh and full of energy they can afford to be aggressive, but when death is near, their body switches to a different mode of operation. Saurus should not foolishly die on the battlefield as a skeleton for his necromancer, but have maximum efficiency. So if he needs to defend himself to wait for reinforcements at the cost of attack power, it's a fair trade.
Plus the original ability is horribly useless and boring in terms of effectiveness.
