True, i have a secondary mod called terrain and formations which does help with the large units in forests with strider, and also deepens the terrain effects a lot, but it also makes wood elves even more difficult to kill in the forest heheh

Might make factions like beastmen and Woody elves unkilable when they defend in forest (as you have to attack) or for example t5 monstera from ogre roster get ability to ignore terrain penalties from tech tree when forest is supposed to counter them

Yes, it works for all units, AI included. The AI won't plan around it as heavily though, it affects them but they will still charge cavalry into rough going at times, so a good player would likely consider this mod to make the game slightly easier.

Thats part of the base game already, get up to 40% more damage being uphill or shooting from a high position, not moddable iirc.

Changed a couple of variables slightly. Inf now gains mass in water, and melee attack isnt as reduced for large in forests.

As for increasing upkeep, it would lead to serious problems outside of the early game, without a full rework of the economy to increase economy more slowly but keeping it at a decent level. It would be an insane amount of work, simply increasing upkeep would likely break the game in particular for AI. Garrisons would become so cost effective it would make the game incredibly defensive.

and if you like complex mods, check out my workshop, its full of mods that add to the complexity of the game without breaking it - unlike most unit mods :D

the reload speeds/accuracy wont be changed, so archers firing from a marsh wont be affected - however they will move considerably slower - so will be easier to run down for cavalry and wont be able to defend themselves as well in melee.
