This mod is trash, there is no reason why I should have to drive around for hours not to find anything at all or cheat to find a place to scrap. This could have been such a cool mod but instead its just a barren wasteland that offers not content whatsoever.

update: I realized because it says its the mentioned person's fork that had an issue, I could remove the settings mod and maybe it'll work fine.

Is there any chance of making this compatible with Assertive NPCs? They're pretty hard to loot so being able to find these sometimes would be a good trade, but something with a time check crashed my game with them both, removing this fixed it.

It'd be really fun to mostly loot these while trying to avoid assertive ships and just looting whatever is left when I knock them down.

If you're struggling to find materials, increasing the sync distance will help. This setting determines how much of your environment the server actively loads around you. A higher sync distance allows the server to load more scrap into your surroundings, making it easier to find what you need. I have mine set to 10k, and it works great!

Does anyone know of a way to increase encounter spawn rate? I've been playing this encounter for a little while and nothing has spawned yet.

Did large hydro thrusters get removed from the spawns? I am 3 weeks into this play though, several hours a day. I have so much stuff, I am ignore many spawns completely. But not one large hydro. This is my fourth play through since release, so I familiar with this setup. I just want to know if I am wasting my time looking for large thrusters.

the only way i got stuff to spawn was force spawning it. apart from 1 random jalopy after 30 mints of flying around

@LordCreach: Still working fine for me. Vanilla encounters was designed to work along side MES. Splitsie also posted a video today with work he's doing to update this mod to include some of the new blocks.

Does this still work well with the Contact update? Assuming this still technically "works" just wondering if the vanilla spawns mess with MES at all or vice-versa. Is this still worth using?

I was curious how you get the assorted collections of prefabs to spawn together in close proximity. I am currently working on an MES mod that would highly benefit from this mechanic; however, I haven't been able to figure out how to make it work.

@Rantalunta - I've been using a mod called "More Loot & Lootboxes" without using the random lootbox functionality, as it will randomly spawn loot in generated structures using cargo containers, lockers and the like. I think installing it without any editing should give you the effect you desire but I installed it a while ago and played around with it a lot before accepting that it did what I wanted it to do. You can edit the loot tables if you feel it's too OP (it can be).

Îs there a way to edit the loottable, so that the ships in space can have some items(Powercells, Solarcells, hand drill...) in it?
On ground it works nicely, but the space wreckage is empty O.o

How do I get anything to spawn? Ive driven around the entire planet and then some and nothing shows up. Only if I manually spawn it with /MES.SPI

Hm. I keep running into grids with AI control modules and batteries named DeleteThisBlock. I suspect something is not quite right with the scrap spawns...

Hi, does this add items to Pertam or only Earth-like? I found plenty of cool stuff on earth-like, but I was hoping to play in the sand and there's a distinct lack of neat buildings to explore =(

Does this include spawns in space? I know at some point during his test series he was capturing wrecks and ruins of large grid ships?
I ask because I'm deep in space but nothing spawns around me, and the /MES.SPI command spawns nothing.

when i leave my home area and return i find that some stuff i have left on the ground such as thrusters and generates de-spawn how do i fix that

I am fairly new to using MES systems and am having difficulty figuring out how to decrease the distance and increase the spawn rate for the wrecks. Can someone help me by possibly telling me the command to type in for it? It would be most appreciated as I wish to try this mod but driving for two hours and finding nothing after the initial force spawn is disheartening.

I would play a version of this that only spawned on Pertram and covered the world with wrecks. Instead, I'm going to just take pertram and slam junk into the surface until I am satisfied and start a survival game that way. I don't want any restrictions. I just want to spawn a senario on a desert world full of scrap to grid. I have the new laser mining mod and I think i'm going to start chopping.

I love this mod. I like playing this style. I tried to add some combat to it but it seems to stop the scrap mod from spawning. Is there a way to add "bad guys" and still have the scrap spawn?

Is it possible to configure the duration that the beacons / GPS coords are visible when they first spawn in? I'm not a fan of driving around with my eyes glued to my monitor for several minutes because I might not notice it.

@Splitsie, I have uploaded a bandage copy of this mod were I change the dependency to a fixed version of the MES Scrapyard Dependency mod by @TheFinalEvent97.

The MES Scrapyard Dependency mod has an issue where the Triggers.sbc file will not load. The fix is to simply remove comments from that file. The fix can be found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3074938593

What does the MES Scrapyard Dependency do? That mod's page doesn't have any description, it's just listed as a requirement for this one.

Is there something about this mod that goes beyond just making a bunch of interesting vehicles and buildings spawn that needs its own extra file? Or is the dependency file for use with a custom scenario?

After a bit of playing and after the bug fix, I have found that wrecks spawn faster then I can get to them, so if you are not finding wrecks, either:
(A) you are not watching for the spawn signal or
(B) you are not driving very far or
(C) you are leaving pieces of wrecks in the areas you are traveling.
I regularly travel 5+ km getting wrecks that have already spawned and sometimes run across new wrecks on my way to the wrecks I already know about. But I also clean up every wreck I find completely, including checking for underground blocks.

The mods "Force Dynamic Grids" and "Perpetually Perturbed Pirates", which are in the scenario, are virtually required. The first because some static grids do not turn dynamic when cut off from the ground, even simple windmills, this is an SE bug that Splitsie has commented on. The second because otherwise the pirates will be your friends when you get to space.

Anyway to increase the structures, 3 of us are playing, and after two hours, all we found was a rusted bridge with a wreaked rover. We kinda gave up, nothing to do but drive around for hours and flip our rovers upside down.

Bit of feedback for you. Friend and I have been playing for a week or so now, and we've noticed that its pretty rare that we find any small atmos, yet we've got loads large atmos. Might I suggest changing that double large atmo pickup truck to a single large atmo with a couple smalls? Similarly, we're getting lots of sm-grid lg-batts and engines, but have only found a single each o2h2 generator, sm-hydro, and lg-hydro thruster. Maybe its just the way the randomizing has worked on our playthrough, but I'd thought I'd point it out.

I see a bug when I configure a new game with only these five mods (for testing). If you compare Config-PlanetaryInstallations.xml with the version installed by the Scenario you see a lot of important changes. The result is that you don't see the grids spawn in, but they are there if you check Alt-F10. I went though the rest of Storage/1521905890.sbm_ModularEncountersSystems and I didn't see any other significant differences, except for Config-Combat.xml (the mod Disable Combat Phase didn't work in my testing). MES is going through rapid version changes so the version numbers will be different as well as the world numbers. I assume the problem is in the MES Settings mod.

Also, can you add the Clang Cola and Cosmic Coffee to the loot tables?
Some compatibility with mods like "Eat. Drink. Sleep. Repeat!" and "Plant & Cook" would be nice.

I'd just search unknown signals for apples, which I can then use in a apple farm to make more apples to make into apple juice in the kitchen, BUT, for some reason, I haven't seen any unknown signals drop since the 2nd one that appeared, and I've been playing over 10 hours now. Any idea why the unknown signals aren't spawning in anymore?
