Specifically, I inherit from a bunch of default UI elements to build my UI. If somebody else's mod modifies the default UI elements instead of inheriting from it, it will also modify (or break) it anybody who is also inheriting from it.

Tell them to check my github to find out which UI elements I inherit from

Seb the issue with Bucket with the UI hiding seems to be related to a mod called HR Garage and a additional, I'll report it if I find another that is causing it.

One thought I had is that the UI is spawning off-screen, but with those settings I don't think that is the issue.


If you only run Bucket and its dependencies, does it work? You can test this in singleplayer zeus.

@Seb I play at 1920x1080 (16:9) with interface size set to Small. I hadn't ever thought to change those specific settings, but now you have me curious. Is that the solution?

@Seb, when I use the "Modify Terrain" context menu option, the brush appears and can be used but no settings window shows up to adjust it in any way. I've tried everything I can think of without adjusting our mod list, but nothing seems to work. Could it be a mod incompatibility of some kind? I'm unsure... any thoughts?

@Seb, it was not hotkeys being rebound. Just didn't configure server properly. Was not calling @CBA_A3 and @Zeus Enhanced server side. I swore I checked that. Works now. Thanks this is sweet.

Have you rebound your Zeus keys? The mod actually hooks into the "Group units together" (LCTRL by default) and "Raise entity" (LALT) Zeus keybinds, so if you've rebound them then you'll need to use that key.

@Seb yes, server has terrain lib. I've tried many times making sure all mods are loaded client and server side and no dice. I know I am missing something simple.

Yeah, figured as much. As I said, I've come to expect things like that, ARMA has a lot of technical limitations that can't be overcome by modders. Regardless, this tool does a great job, thanks for putting it out there man.

I think the reason for that is terrain frustum culling, but the culling isn't updated when terrain is updated.

I can't fix that.

Incredible mod, works wonderfully. Only problem I've had thus far is raised terrain un-rendering when you look at certain angles, but it's ARMA, so I've come to expect things like that.

Hi Seb. Great mod. Works well for me in SP but on Dedi MP having trouble calling for it. Its installed on the server and my client as Zeus. When I load in I can see modify terrain and the interface pops up but manipulating terrain has no affect. Tried calling for the mod to be required on the server but this seems to break the server. Any ideas?

Can I only remove buildings from maps ? For example I would want to remove some buildings from Pyrgos on Altis and place towers or something.

@Affy Glad you're enjoying the mod. Unfortunately the smallest size available is based on the terrain grid size. Basically the terrain itself can't support changes smaller than the size I give you.

Dude. This is the coolest stuff ever. Ive been waiting for a tool like this for YEARS on arma. My one complaint is that the tool, even at the smallest size is still too big. Is there anyway you can make the tools go even smaller than they do now. My main concern is trying to make a trench line but its hard to get it small enough to look like a real trench.

@Seb, I'm not sure why but I had no issues at all modifying terrain last night. Everything worked smoothly. Our campaign is now a disfigured shell of what it once was and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thank you kindly for all your great mods that you've provided to the community. You're a real gem.


(still holding out hope a zeus-compatible briefing table comes out one day :D)

Thanks for the write up Seb! I can't remember now if the brush was blue or red.

We're planning on running tonight so I'll test all of that out and report back(to the Github if issue persists).

I've tested it in my MP environment and it works, and I've seen it working on a dedicated server. A couple of issues may be the cause:

First:
The mod actually hooks into the "Group units together" (LCTRL by default) and "Raise entity" (LALT) Zeus keybinds - if you've rebound them, you will have to use whatever you've rebound to. I should probably actually create a separate keybind for this.
And you don't need to left or right click - just hold either of the two buttons.

Second:
Is terrain modification brush blue or red? If it's red, the rate limiter may be getting stuck somehow as that is supposed to indicate the server is busy and is not currently accepting terrain modification, it's supposed to give you control back but it may not be doing that.

Third:
Both you and the server definitely have both this mod and Terrain Lib loaded right?

If non of that works, could you create a bug report on GitHub with as much detail as possible about how & what you're hosting?

Wasn't able to get this working through Zeus in our Antistasi mission. I saw the controls and whatnot but neither control nor alt + left/right click managed to do anything. I could see the grid and UI for it, but it didn't modify anything.
