I would love to do a challange single cycle run where you have to contend with both fluctuating rainy night cycles and creature infested day cycles without sheltering

@suvaquiz101 Most creatures will run and hide at the end of the cycle. If you want rain/nighttime creatures, enable the option that prevents them from taking shelter.

It's short grace periods where the rain doesn't affect you

Yeah, that's what I just did. Just to be sure, when it says it switches between the two, does that mean that there are short grace periods that will let me move safely?

If you configure the mod and set the rain to flux mode, then it alternates between lethal and nonlethal, that's probably what you're looking for

@Shadoekoo The cycle lasts until you rest at a shelter. Staying out past the end of the cycle won't eventually move to the next one (too difficult to code this in unfortunately)

How long is a cycle supposed to last? Been sitting outside, waiting for the rain to end, and it's been a good 5 minutes at least

Currently, I have installed a mod called "Kills Add Time 2," which has the ability to delay the storm's duration by 100 seconds for every creature killed. I'm not sure if this is happening because of the mod.

Shelters always try to shut at the end of cycle even without enough food, but it's not supposed to trap you or prevent you from resting. This mod doesn't modify shelter behavior, so this could be a vanilla glitch or a problem with some other mod, but I'll investigate this.

I have discovered an issue where most resting rooms using this mod will prematurely lock their doors during my entry process, preventing me from entering the room to rest.

I've been trying this mod and everything goes smoothly, exception made for a few softlocks by going into sone rooms (but I think it is caused by something else).
Emerald Tweaks and this mod are a nice combo, just remember to remove the deadlyness of some effects. Is there a way to add sandstorm outside of Watcher's campaign, by any chance?

Ooh gotcha. Yeah one of those mods is bound to mess with things, thanks for testing it out though. I imagine switching off flux rain should work fine

oh wait i got the same bug even without emerald's, i think i'm gonna have to sift through my 120 mods to find the culprit ;-;
but for now ill swap off of flux rain to see if it still happens

I tested Emerald's Tweaks with default settings and it didn't break anything, it might be one of the features off by default. I can investigate this later.

@XLR08 I can't reproduce the problem on my end. It's coded to avoid increasing rain intensity above the default, so a 0% room should always remain at 0% and ignore changes made by flux rain. Maybe it's some other mod interfering with this?

@FloofCheeks when Flux rain is set and the weather type is Rain but at a custom amount, it gets completely overwritten when the rain starts to flux and you change rooms (try the top rooms on The Wall)
i first assumed it was an incompatibility with Slugsomnia from Emerald's Tweaks and Features but i tested and it doesn't seem to be the case

uhh flux rain seems to bug out when the usual rain strength is like 0%, seems to be overridden to 60% and 30% rain during flux rain

@BugData Try deleting the BepInEx folder in your Rain World installation folder, and then use Steam to verify integrity of game files. After doing that, disable the mod, apply and restart Rain World, re-enable the mod, and then restart again.

I don't know if they ever fixed it, but if you're running the game on Linux or Steam Deck, it might take a couple extra steps to get code mods to work. I can't remember it, you'd have to search for the fix online if that's the case.

I appreciate the suggestions but that would be hard to do, especially for what would be a sub-feature for a less common weather effect etc.

Again, I'll see about adding it if I find an easier way to do it, but it can already be changed to nonlethal, so it's not a priority.

@FloofCheeks hey maybe you could check for if the room is completely covered by blocks on the top layer to apply an auto version of the sandstorm thing for custom regions
then of course for the official one you would curate the rooms to make it work better

There isn't a good way to determine if a room is inside or outside, aside from going through each room and making a list.

I haven't fully explored the new regions so I'm trying to avoid room lists. That and it wouldn't work with custom regions either. I'll keep your suggestion in mind if I find a good solution for it though.
