Hello, I saw your comment about making the RoRs a separate pack and I wanted to ask, is this idea still in the works?
ZCs reskin is great for the regular state troops, but he hasn't so far touched RoRs. While your RoR unit reskins are top notch. Also anything for the future? Maybe Elector Count variant reskins?
Also this mod seems to be invisible on steam workshop search engine. I also cannot see it when visiting your profile workshop. Is it somehow hidden? I can only find this mod via a direct link.
Pretty odd, but great reskin nonetheless!
I feel fine with ZC Reskin but still want your ROR reskin, cause your mod is a few one that reskin ROR of the Empire :D
Got some ideas for a bit of a 2.0 of the statetroops, they're my oldest work at this point and it shows. Bit of a packfile rework in order as well, it's a bit messy!
CA did not do much to Empire in regards of skins etc, just the casual recolouring mostly.
If this was finished to your vision, had unique elector units and unique rors, it would stand out, as we have like 1000 mods adding armour plating etc. etc.
Then you release a standalone elector units mod, to bring focus back and point to this compilation, and once that has done its course on the workshop rotation, you pop the unique ror mod, to get focus a 3rd time. ;)
@[KOR]안녕 - No big visual changes planned for a while, working on unit mods for now. Thanks for the suggestion, I will consider them in the future :)
Any thoughts on making a dwarf?
@UnpredictableHades - Not anymore sorry, I know the floppy hat enthusiasts are a righteous bunch that deserve their elegant hats, but I'm putting this one to rest for now. Like I said above, it'll get a 4.0 fix but for the time being no new content. I might revisit when the new Empire dlc comes out, if it's actually worth buying
Love the banners, the unique units by the banners and front of the unit!
Awesome job.... Thank you!
Hey I followed your advice and I almost got it. Vanilla greatswords and swordsmen work and halbadeers (pardon poor spelling lol). But even though I got your reskin on spearmen and the shielded variants as well ... for both variants of spearmen they do not have their weapons. I added you if you have time to discuss what might be a workaround. Thanks for whatever direction you can give and thanks for helping me learn cause I understand a bit more now with tables cause of you :D
Understood. Thank you very much for taking the time to go over what you just went over for me. I will add you in future for further insight if the need comes up. Thank you for teaching what you have :)
3 things you'll need to align;
unit_variants_tables
variants_tables
the unit's .variantmeshdefinition (aka vmd)
• unit_variants_tables is important for the 'variant' column inside it, which directs a 'unit' to an entry in the variants_tables.
• variants_tables will now tell that 'variant' which 'variant filename' it uses - this is the name of the vmd.
• variantmeshdefinition - tells the game what models to use for the unit such as heads, torsos, legs, etc.
You should be able to achieve what you need with just the two tables, but in the case that multiple modders both use the vanilla vmd names it could get a bit confusing and incompatible without renaming vmds and/or other tricks.
Might not be the most helpful description within the steam comment limit, so feel free to add me if you get stuck
Hey would you know how I could change the path of something to make reskins work with eachother. For example: I want to use Zio's empire reskin for all of the provincial recruitment troops like troops from reikland and stirland etc while using Sigmar's heirs, but I want to use your reskins for your state troops and greatswords for the vanilla recruitment units.
Would you know how I can go about this using RPFM or where I could go to learn a possible solution if one such exists.
Btw love your work and thanks for everything and hope life is going well.
I do appreciate the feedback though, and want to continue this mod at some stage. I'm focused on some other projects at the moment so it took a bit of a backseat for the time being
would be nice considering giving Sigmars Sons their green shields and normal helmets back... isnt that their visual mark? but thats just a personal preference...
Thx for your reskin time for a new campaign with your ooutstanding reskin (curious what you will do with the rest of the ror´s .... well when its ready :-) )
started searching for the isssue today. The conflicting mod is Victor Saltzpyre (Hero of the Übersreik 5)
dont know if this helps, or why there is a conflict.
No mods should really interfere unless they are also trying to change the appearance of the units in this mod. I just booted it up to be safe, everything works on my end :0
changing to Fxaa had no impact regarding to trousers....
officers all look like intended. Silverbullets f.e. have pitchblack leg bracers and kneepads... its more like I am missing some assets?? or could this be a mod incoompability (i tried with all other reskins deactivated altough they were from other factions) could a unit mod be the problem??
Strange about your unit colours.. I'm running FXAA for my AA setting, perhaps this may have the biggest impact? That aside, the lighting in my games was drastically changed by using Ultimate Lighting 2.0.
As for the texture bug (pink/blue thing), I'm not sure - it might be a materials conflict between my mod and another (I should have renamed a lot of the submeshes to avoid this). Currently working on my WE mods so it may take a bit, but I'll turn my attention to this when I can :]
Outstanding work, specially on the RoR´s.
for those that prefer a bit shinier look /other mods that alter state troops... it would be very nice/amazing if we could have a RoR only reskin... PRETTYPLEASE :-)
Thx anyways for your mod (for some reason the trousers of state troops in my game are dirty pink/light blue?? perhaps I wouldnt need another mod ... generally every unit in my game is much brighter than in your screenshots and if i adjust my screen to get your reskin darker everything else gets too dark, so am I missing a mod that is not mentioned here??)
I plan on revisiting the regular Statetroops and giving them a big update with a lot more variation, as you can see they have fallen behind a bit as I continued to add more ROR reskins. I think I could do a floppy hat submod yeah, shouldn't be too much work.
I'm just wrapping up my Wood Elves mod currently, then will dedicate some time towards updating this
Would you ever consider adding a submod that adds floppy hats to the state troops or greatswords. The mod is amazing all by itself but I must admit I do like a good floppy hat every once and a while. BTW your art direction is sick. You are an inspiration to the modding community so thanks for making Empire feel badass.
I should be fine since the banner assets appear to be separate from this, but but I suppose you never know with someone like this..
