I figured out a workaround!

I use the insect meat>animal fat>fuel>carbon crafting line to make unlimited carbon. You mentioning vegetable oil though, which I never use at all, reminded me of it's existence. I now have a recipe to make a stock of vegetable oil above my animal fat oil, but I have the fuel limited to use only animal fat. Viola! Now my crafters MUST make food oil which they can't use before they make fat for fuel.

So indirectly, even without any forked mod, you actually have helped me greatly! :steamhappy:

If I still had the game installed I would make a fork of the mod for you with the change, but I do not currently have it installed.

The game isn't going to receive any more updates or content, so no mods should ever need updates. Because of that I felt comfortable uninstalling it once I had exhausted the fun I could get from the game.

I got whole lot of hours of fun before that though. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Possible, yes, but not something I plan to do, @Ironman_Mk11.

The mod editor is pretty easy to figure out by looking at other mods, so perhaps try opening this mod in the editor to see if you could tweak it to do what you want.

Personally I never make fuel out of vegetable oil unless I have surplus.

This mod is EXACTLY what I was looking for, except for 1 little (but very important to me) thing.

Would it be possible to differentiate Crafting between the Workbench and the Oil Press?

For some stupid reason, my survivors seem to think making Fuel is more important than my cook being able to make food. They'll happily ignore the Oil Press till the fat reserves run out, at which point they will make 1 batch...and take it right over to the workbench to make more fuel. I've had a crafter literally give starvation notifications because he wouldn't make fat for the cook to use... If I manually tell them to use the press, they'll make one batch...and then... Yeah.

Currently my only solution is to have 2 crafters working at once so one of them is forced to use the press, or I need to manually pause the fuel production at the workbench. I'd love the Workbench to be it's own option, like Tailor & Soldering are.

So great, thanks! Do you currently have a way to prevent survivors who are supposed to chop wood at the chopping block from wandering every which way to chop trees in the woods and vice versa?

@vapaman, it's probably due to what you have UI scaling set to combined with the aspect ratio of your chosen resolution. I cannot change any of those things via mod, so users who want to use the mod with settings different from my own need to tweak it on their own end to make it fit.

Why when i use this mod, most of the schedule items are off the side to where i cannot see them or access them. My resolution is max and it seems like i am zoomed in on the schedule.

Cooking is already covered, combined with farming. I can't split it out without removing something else due to UI width limitations. Sorry.

@Red Eagle LXIX, go into the game's options->gamep;lay, you can set how many priority levels there. It's a built in game option, no mod needed.

Not something I'm looking to do, @Jayshua_Lyn, but you could open it in the mod editor and delete the components related to the part that you do not want. As long as you have a local copy with a version number higher than (or equal to) the workshop version, it will always use your local copy.

Hey! I have a suggestion: Would it be possible to have different saved task lists/schedules? I.e., it'd be nice if I've got a bunch of stuff that needs hauling to quickly switch everyone to the "Load" task without needing to reassign all tasks. Or if things really need doing, I could switch to an "All Work" schedule without rescheduling everyone.

salut, esque il existe une version encore plus simple? en fait mes survivants travaille 4 ou 5 h le matin et l’après midi et régulièrement je vois certain s'arretter pour aller manger ou dormir, je veux pas de ça, c'est une perte de temps, ton mod passe mon jeu en anglais (j'ai tester ) et du coup jy comprend plus rien ou alors je met en fonction hard les plages horaire que j'ai définie pour mes survivants ? désolée suis pas habituée des mods du coup j'essaye de bien comprendre la fonction de ce mod, j'ai plusieurs de tes mods installé c'est cool, merci de ton travail :lunar2019coolpig:

oooh you mean presets of these. So for one could make it more crafting orientated. Another for farming. And another for.. what ever? So instead of clicking for each skill/job and survivor. Just hit 1 preset button? Ok then ya I totaly misunderstood. And that does sound like a cool idea.

I meant being able to choose all your priorities with simple tasks turned off and then save them to a custom button so you could swap between priorities as things develop. I was giving examples of what I would do if I could set up my own.

Would be lot of work for little benefit I think. As what I want different then Jarrids and probably you as well. If he set any it would probably conflict with many players and cause lot of complaints. Also you kind of have a option in game already for it. Turn of SIMPLE.. TASKS? I forget in the assignments tab top left click to turn it from simple. Then you can set priorities.

I hadn't even thought of presets as something useful, to be honest @spaladino95. Everyone has a different idea about how they want the schedule set up, so I think presets would be of very limited usefulness.

Even in my own games, I use different setups for pretty much every survivor, and exactly how I set them up depends not just on the survivor themselves, but on which specific other survivors I have on the team.

Ever tried making something that has presets? Something like, preset one changes priorities to hunt/butcher, two sets crafting as priority, three sets cooking....or just several blank customizable ones.

@dragonsphotoworks, I put up a version of this mod that is compatable with Project-X, if you want to try it out. I only did limited testing, as I don't run Project-X myself often, but it seemed like a pretty straightforward conversion with just a few changes required.

After a few days of testing, it seems things are fine if you disable eating while your survivors are asleep. I pushed the update with that change. I'm still a little concerned it could affect survivors who are recovering from severe injuries not eating while they are in bed recovering. I'll revert the change if anyone reports issues with that.

I am testing out in my own game how it affects this if, instead of adding a new category for "Sleep hard" just removing "eating" from the game's default "Sleep" assignment. I want to be sure that doesn't entirely mess with things before considering pushing it as a live update.

@Pervy, I don't want you to think I ignored your suggestion.

Unfortunately there is a hard limit in the game to how many schedule activity groups there can be. With this mod, that limit is hit. I can't add more without removing others and unfortunately I use all of the categories that exist already.

Project X also messes with the activity sets, I believe. You can't use multiple mods that both do that.

Doesnt seem to work with Project X. As I dont have the tasks. Not sure if worth making patch as other mod supposed to get bunch of updates. But thought I would mention it.

Nice! I'm liking the control we have over the survivors with this. The only other thing I can think of now would be if there was some kind of "Sleep HARD" in where eating was forbidden. Would love to have them eat when they wake up and not when they go to bed.

That's actually a pretty good idea. I just pushed an update that makes this change after verifying that it works properly. I split out "slaughtering" as well.

Butchering was what I was looking for! Right now hunting and butchering are combined, but are very different buffs. I'd like to use hann (1 hit kills when hunting) and those with good weapons/combad for the actual hunting, but then often carcasses are everywhere with not enough people to butcher them. If we could separate those, it would be a game changer!

Did you want me to make a version with one fewer schedule item? There's nothing I can do to scrunch the UI, that's outside of what the mod editor allows as far as I'm aware.

yeah it only happens for 1920 horizontal resolution width and below. the problem isnt your mod but the game's ui scaling not also scaling the button size for the categories. no one has probably noticed because everyone these days uses 1440 as standard. im just old, lol

Interesting, first I've heard of that problem from anyone. I play at 1440p, not ultrawide or anything, and you can see my screenshot right here showing that it shows all 10.

to clarify, i only see 9 categories, the 10th is cropped off the screen. your mod is the only mod loaded. it is not a mod conflict, it is a UI scaling issue, if i have it at default settings (middle) there is only room for 9, if you move scale to full left, it has room for 10+, full right, room for only 7. so basically, to use this mod fully you need to have your UI scale slider slightly to the left. maybe make note of that.

The UI has a limit of 10 categories, so if you are using another mod that also adds a new category, that's what will happen.

Feel free to open the mod in the mod editor and remove one category that you don't think you want to clear up the issue.
