@DrNilsson You can use any setting you want, this mod will only changes how INDOORS spawn works. It doesn't change anything else.

@Kaya - yes, I use the WIP version on a dedicated server with this mod and it works great.

From memory, the RoomList keeps all rooms loaded during the session.
It was not only the rooms of the current cell despite the namings.
There was no unloading from that list when cells were unloaded.
If it changed with B42, there should be a spam of the log I prepared for that potential evolution.

Such tricks are probably not the easiest way to start. Anyway what matters is not the difficulty, it is to your keep motivation going.

I tested this in debug mode and can confirm that it works.
But can you explain to me why did you say "The trick is: the size never decreases". Because when I check your code, the counter variable you use is cell.getRoomList(), why does that number never decreases. I thought each cell has its own room list so when you move to a new cell, that counter can increase/decrease depending on the new cell?
Just want to dive a little into modding stuff as a hobby so it's would be very nice if you can explain that to me.

So I just learned that forest zombies in B42 kinda spawn the same way zombies spawn in buildings from this video: The Forests Are Dangerous In Project Zomboid. Would it be possible to apply this mod to that as well or would that not be feasible?

I was wondering if a mod could simply remove the "line of sight inside building" requirement from the base game mechanic instead of forcing all buildings in the player's chuck to spawn the zombies.

Just from some testing on my own I think this mod doesn't play nice with either the Bandits mod or the Knox Event Expanded mod. Seems to cause some serious issues with how and where zombies spawn, especially with Bandits since they're technically zombies with different scripts attached to them. Shame to have to remove it, but it's killing my FPS with either of those mods active.

Does this mod work in Raven cliff and allow people to maintain a high fps?
I usually play on insane pop but have a ryzen 7 3700x cpu.

@Angela No sorry, I play over Geforce Now Ultimate on my Series X so only B41 is available till B42 goes stable.

@Kapeuts Because it spawns zombies pretty much infinitely in the background. Eventually it will crash your game. Mod is broken unfortunately at least for me and many others. It definitely doesn't work with zombie spawning turned off

Same for me Grietinis. Mod doesn't work with zombie spawning turned OFF unfortunately. It creates endless zombie respawning and hordes all over the place. Just killed a few dozen zombies that spawned back to back out of thin air.. Now when i try to play with zombie respawns ON the mod works. But I don't like playing with it on.

somehow zombies respawn when i turned off respawning because of this mod. sad because it gives a lot fps but in a big populated city its a nightmare to deal with

The problem is definitely Wandering Zombies and not this mod. When I was having crashes, I accidentally had both versions of Wandering Zombies enabled. WIP is probably unstable.

Had the same crash (soft fade screen crash into menu as opposed to CTD) as paraDiXson, with the same error; will try removing the mod to see if it fixes it, as a side note, I also run Wandering Zombies WIP as it has compatibility with bandits from Week One

I believe this mod was causing crashes in my game. I kept getting crashes over and over, while running around in the game. Didn't take 30 seconds to crash again from reloading the save. Didn't stop until disabling this mod.

According to Duck, it does. And while I have not specifically tested for it, I've run into several situations now where I thought "why is there still a zombie there?" before realising the mod wasn't there anymore.

Seems to impact my performance far more than Duck's original version - particularly in built up areas despite claims to have better performance. Maybe its just my settings...despite my zombie population settings etc being the same...

playing witout this in raven creek is picnic, long life to the king!

(quasi normal, i use low values and alternative spawn to fill the diference in urban but not in road so i have no much hordes in roads adn safe woods, mybe)

could you please explain what one cycle is exactly in time EG one cycle per second or one cycle per frame how does this work exactly please?

I love spawning in the Prison as a prisoner who managed to steal a key and hide. I appreciate not having zombies spawning on me. It adds to the suspense when I find a semi empty prison to start. Good work!

I also run No Mo Culling on my server, havn't seen any problems so far minus some performance drops, but that's probably just my CPU.
