not possible to play past veteren with other mods on. the ai seems to start with over 200,000 beginning gold and shells out max tier armies after the first 20 minutes with no regard for levies. example. A 1 province kingdom with lose 3 armies of peasants and light units. but will come back in 60 seconds with lights units and elite units despite not having any personal left to build them. and with 15 governor mod etc all the sudden they come back with 3-8 armies full of elite units within 20 minutes of game play. tried 6 games. they also seem to have a buff. if I make it to traditions and and have military traditions and higher tier units. I have repeadily been beat with an army of 7000+ light units vs nearly a full army of peasants. not just beaten but completely molly whopped even with two nearly maxed out marshals vs level 0 ai marshals. So the mod doesn't actually make the game harder to play. it effectively makes the games impossible.

Tried. This one is disbalanced. After 20 min, 1 province state comes with 2 armies - heavy archers and light spears mixed with heavy infantry. I mean its cool when I have peasants and 2-3 spearmen with 10 levies per turn. I wonder why mod creator did not gave AI tanks and F-16, while player could have get a fork. :D
If all that makes the game "harder" is to give AI super bonuses, upgraded tier 3 castles from the start, fully armoured armies, while meanwhile leaving player with peasant ones, then its kind of a shitty mod.

The amount of aggression of the ai that helps the early game kinda cripple the ability of the ai as well.

They have so many wars that they can't actually focus to defeat you. One thing that would be great is having longer truces period.

Also there is the game issue that limits the amount of armies for 2 per fight. With this, after you get at least 2 armies, is very hard to lose any war.

Would be great seeings armies gangbanging your armies.

Its a good mod if you want the AI to attack you more.
I changed the setting to the same as "12 more knights"mod (it easy to do as its just in text you change one number) as it clashed with it now I am happy to stick with this mod.

Seems to work fine. Although it feels like AI is declaring war on you for absolutely no reasons. Even when you have good relations with them and they are at war with others alredy.

Now am playing your mod kinda vanilla- Just with the mod reduced food for troops.
Playing with the 12 building slots make expert so easy and playing with lvl 50 skills make it an absolute hardcore horror gangbang.

Also I agree with stun. The Invasions and simultaneus wars are manageable, also checking in the diplmacy and plots a lot more wich do improve the experience and yeah, I'll keep playing this current game and once reach +25 provinces will check how it goes

The early game seems pretty good balanced also as stun mentioned in the comments.
I think that (I made this experience also in my campaigns) that at one point, if we managed to stabalize our empire (in terms of economy, army, diplomacy, boost trough traditions), we "outsmart" the AI. I am currently thinking about options to reduce this effect.

update: ass whipped out at the 2nd generation. Swarmed with 4 wars of wars unprovoked at the same time from kingdoms beyond the black sea and yeah, this mod works great XD!

- 10 skill slots and level 5 skills
- Reduced cost of food
- More buildings (+12)

I love cavalry map speed and even more love the mongol elite units. So started as bulgaria it was insane to have barely 2 counties and being attacked by 4-5 armies of lvl 50/15/25 marshals and I was struggling with a lvl 35 ruler... it was a bit hard, have to reload several times trying to develop a strategy how to overcome some situations until I reached food enough to transition my army into 4 boyars and 4 mongol ranged cavalry. Once I managed to have the first complete cavalry I became unstoppable no matter the enemy.

At the 7th generation conquered about 27 counties in eastern europe and stopped, with my 9 cavalry armies, 3 diplomats 1 merchant and 1 diplomat it was too easy, so started a new expert but without the buildings mod. Will check out how it goes

I managed to break through that seemingly unending set of wars (war exhaustion -50), finally taking a province with little enough enemy resistance that I was able to end disorder and vassalize the pope and the farwest arabs.

After that it's lategame as normal. At the end of that war I had 7 provinces. I'm at I think 13 now, have won off goods (with imports), only missing vines, and am second place for fame after the bigger of the two fareast arab superblobs. I haven't been in more than one war at a time since then, nobody attacks me. I have a spy in an enemy superpower and rob treasury gives me hundreds of thousands, which allows me to max relationships with any nation (and all their friends) like four times. Already, there isn't any threat. Of course, this is also after-winning. The earlygame was a lot harder than vanilla veryhard and very dynamic and interesting. The actual midgame, actually going from 4 provinces to 7 and getting stable at that size, was phenomenal. After that? Well, the game is still essentially over.

Actually I am playing as Bynzantine Empire and got kicked off my ass 5 times. Now I made a pretty stable start using diplomatics.

Usually I don't comment in the workshop, but dude, 12 slots building + 10 skills per noble + reduced food for troops + this mod with the 15 noblemen in court it's just freaking amazing!

Truly wonderful work.
I started a challenger game as before dawn's pagan corisca (1 province (3 settlements), pagan, no special troops, on an island between the west arab superpowers and the catholics). I have spent the last 10-20 hrs of playtime at war. I've started the game up and there were 6 wars. I've had 20 different enemy armies in my lands. My entire economy is based on marshal ransoms. My war exhaustion is at -42 with no end in sight. I had to beat someone down to -400 warscore to vassalize them. This is phenomenal.

I started a game with your mod. I have 4 more knights how many more can we not have
