Hey everyone! As of the release of Eldritch Realms, the mod indeed no longer works when the Umbral Abyss is enabled in a regular, 12 player, massive map. This is due to a technical limitation we're looking into, the game simply generates too many provinces in total.

There's a current workaround which is to enable the "Small Underground" trait, I tested this with 12 players, massive map and Umbral Abyss enabled, that generated fine (it takes a while though lol).

I'll adjust the description as well to warn players. I can't make promises we'll be able to fix it so full underground or massive underground works together with a third layer. But we are investigating.

Runs well with no more crashing than usual, the only downside is in PvE custom match because enemy bots seem to be less active when no enemy is near them. I have created a 3(human)v2v2v2 and the 6 bots literally did nothing until we destroyed them. I believe they need enemy proximity to trigger. So if you use the largest map, make sure to add as many enemy as you are allowed to. It should do the trick.

Is this showing as a map option for those of you with all the DLC and the latest update? It doesn't show up in my map settings though it's in my mod list.

Thanks for making this. It's seeming to be much more stable since the official updates got unofficial fix updates. But it only seems to have four wonder types (snakes, ogres, faeries, undead wizards) and four of the types of magic material never seem to spawn either. Is there any chance of an update for the new DLC wonders and magic materials?

The bigger maps tend to crash more often for me, no matter where I place this in the load order. I'm thinking there's a compatibility issue, but no idea what this would conflict with.

As a quick note when using 'Grand' size - it will crash at the end of map creation somewhere above 50% of the time. The more players the more often it will crash. Once you do get a working map it plays fine though. So if you have the patience to redo the start a few times it does give you some nice maps.

Seems to be working on current build for me so far ~26 turns into my first realm using it single player. Only did 3 rulers on largest map size (grand?) w/ regenerating infestations & there's plenty of space to breath w/o feeling too empty.

Seems like a huge improvement for me vs. the stock Very Large setting w/ 5 players of my first couple custom realms w/ the game at any rate. Should I expect the actual map size to scale when increasing ruler count?

Ok, I was able to recover my game and install a non-auto update version of the mod with the method posted by FXS_Beast below, thanks for that!

I was just able to get into my game, deleted the mod manually, unsubscribed and resubscribed, removed playsets and recreated. Hopefully this helps others. Thanks G.o.d.

eh, now our game stopped working, once one guy had to restart the game.. does the mods actually autoupdate at starting game without asking? if so, its highly unfortunate

Theres a build # that increments with every save of the Mod, so if you just removed the new stuff and saved it probably still won't work unless we know what the build # is of the old save. I'm desperate enough to get this working again that I've figured out which byte to modify in a Hex Editor to change the Build version. I just need to know what the right # is.

Appreciate the effort, but for some reason it still won't allow us to load our save. Maybe it's an issue with how the game handles it's save games, maybe a different timestamp is all it takes for it to be rejected.. Who knows.

I have found an option to revert to the previous version, doing so now. This will remove the Farther setting, but I may upload it later on as a standalone. Not sure what might have caused issues with Wonders and Resources though...

Update broke multiplayer saves. Can longer load games saved from before the most recent update. This is the only mod enabled, both before and after.

Just refuses to load and says "Mod Conflict" and the only option is "OK"

The maps by generated by this mod are really great.

However with the recent version, no magic resources are spawning underground.

Multiplayer doesn't work like that. You just get a Mod Conflict message and an OK button.

Hi guys, I didn't change anything in the previous presets, just added a new one. I just hit 'Yes' when greeted by this Conflict prompt, re-saved my game and continued playing - no issues at all. You should be totally fine to do just that, there should be no conflicts whatsoever, just the mod version is higher now.

Thank you G.O.D. Am no longer using that disable underground mod.

I also agree that the Distant map was huge even though I enjoyed it without any movement increase. Re-spawning infestations in hard settings kept me busy throughout without the need for war. And trade was essential with allies when it was not safe to expand. I have noticed that the game always spawns a dragon horde infestation near you on map creation. Very challenging to survive until you can clear it.

@$eeR I came to the exact same conclusion after my recent game on Distant. Just added another setting called Farther, that sits halfway between Far and Distant.

@Cythal I decided to hide my No Underground mod. Turns out that disabling Underground also disables all Magic Materials. Why? No idea. No apparent connection in the editor, either it's hidden somewhere deep, or plain hard coded.

We just finished a miracle not glitching 3v3 on the Distant map size , thanks for this mod mr G.O.D. ..... however the map was slightly too large , wondering if u can possibly provide a few ( in between sizes ) between the Far < Distant = Start Setting ? would be much appreciated by the Competitive Crew , also thanks for the disable underground mod i am going to go grab that right now and it will become mainstream as well im certain
