I'd recommend using this mod for your needs instead.
It was made 2 months after this mod's last update, and has been getting updates since.

Downsides in comparison to my mod:
- Overwrites some basegame stuff, which can impact compatibility with other mods. Assuming you're not using other mods that overwrite the same stuff, tho, this should be fine.
- Is a consistent automatic thing, not something you can change with religious reformation.

Big upside in comparison to my mod:
- A deeper and more immersive system of concubinage. Includes things like being able to go to war against someone if they turn a loved one into a concubine to get them back, and diplomatic offering of concubines to get truces, for example.

Dude I haven't updated this mod in like 2 years. It's outdated af. The fact that any of it is working at all is kinda incredible.

Check what the doctrines on your religion are / whether they say you can legitimize and de-legitimize children of concubines. If they say you can't, that's your issue, and you've gotta reform. If they say you can, then the delegitimize function is broken.

I can legitimise concubine children, but I can NOT delegitimise them.
Is it OK?
I am taltosist (unreformed) in tribal era.

@Dr Jimothy thanks for letting me know. Good Luck on your new journey and endeavors!

@CozA

I'm probably never updating this mod, because I don't play CK3 anymore.
Read "The Jimothy Guarantee (copy my mods)" (a discussion attached to this mod) for details. In short anyone is free to update or fork this mod, or integrate it or things from it into any mod of their own, and of course using my mods as learning material for your own modding (though lot of it is likely outdated now).
The only thing I don't like is copying and pasting a whole mod without changing anything, especially if multiple people do it and so distract from cases where someone's actually made improvements, fixed broken things etc.

1.13.0.1 Update please. Thank You!

my thanks for this one.
together with a mod that allows raiding as feudal lord under some circumstances (eg warlike culture) this si what makes northern lords as well as indis-playthroughs so much more enjoyable.

@Dr Jimothy Thank you for taking the time to reply! And yeah the two mods don't play very well together I've tried. I actually sent this mod to the author of Harem Politics and he thinks its amazing and might be interested in making a compatch for it in the future or perhaps, even integrate some of its features into the mod.
Dr Jimothy  [author] 8 Oct, 2023 @ 4:28am
I don't even know what version CK3 is currently on because I haven't played it in a while, but a quick look at CK3's on action files says those still work the same, so this mod will almost definitely work fine.

Harem Politics and this will have a teeny bit of a jarring problem working together, which is that promoted concubine's children won't auto-lose the disinheritment trait, so you'll need to manually un-disinherit those children, and children of wives demoted to concubines won't automatically become disinherited unless/until another sibling is born, so you'll need to manually disinherit those, too.

This isn't really something that can be fixed within this mod without making it require Harem Politics to function. It'd need to be an add-on mod for, or integrated into, Harem Politics. Some juicy info for any interested in making that at the top of the description, or not if you're reading this less than a few minutes after I've commented it.

Does this still work with the latest version of CK3? I'm dying to have it alongside the Harem Politics mod.

@Awkland
No, because that would require me to overwrite base game files by messing with the limitations on the make concubine interaction. This deliberately doesn't overwrite any base game files, and doesn't rely on vanilla systems that are likely to be changed by any mod, just adding things, to maximise compatibility and be usable with pretty much any other mod.
Also this mod is about the children of concubines, not the concubines themselves.

This will 99.9% probably work fine and dandy alongside DTR. If you want different-faith-only concubines and for children from them not to inherit, then use it and this mod together (assuming DTR doesn't have its own system for preventing inheritance by children of concubines, in which case just use DTR).
Awkland 4 Jul, 2023 @ 11:56pm
can you make an option that only allow you different faith concubines like how it works in Dynamic Trade Routes mod?

Yeah super fair there

@MsL229
I keep forgetting to add my recent stuff to the "Jimothy's Beautiful Babies" playlist but most of my stuff is there. Not all of it will still work tho... too much for me to have a life outside of modding, keep making new mods (especially since both the two major mods I'm working on are pretty big. Demon Slayer mod alongside someone else and SCP GOIs mod by myself) *and* keep all my existing stuff updated, which is part of why I'm always open to people making their own updates, add-ons etc of my mods.
MsL229 1 Jun, 2023 @ 1:51am
This mod, I gotta say, is pretty snazzy, Gonna check out your other stuff cause my man, you work a lot xD
Dr Jimothy  [author] 22 May, 2023 @ 6:25am
Fixed problem of children of concubines not being auto-disinherited when children of spouses are born: THIS MEANS THE MOD IS NOW 100% FUNCTIONING AS INTENDED!
Dr Jimothy  [author] 21 May, 2023 @ 11:31am
Updated. There's still a problem in that children born of concubines aren't being auto-disinherited when children from spouses are born, but you can still disinherit using a cheap prestige cost interaction.
Shaspend 21 May, 2023 @ 10:59am
Hi, will be updated today?
Dr Jimothy  [author] 21 May, 2023 @ 3:04am
Heads up this has stopped working in 1.9.0.4, but I've just been told how to fix it so later today should be fully operational. Some stuff about scopes changed it seems.
CozA 16 May, 2023 @ 10:42pm
@Dr Jimothy Awesome, will try this version now!
