Hoarfrost slam, at least the hero version, seems to have zero accuracy in combat.

Have you considered making the effects buildings add to recruited units also effect units summoned into the city? Assuming thats possible to mod.

Can you remove the "base" tag from candela grenade? It is quite ridiculus when it takes all enchants and such.

@Мохель I see now, what happened was before us modders could change bedrock, water and lava tiles but with the latest dlc and update they changed it so we no longer could effect those tiles. With the change no matter what if we create a effect to alter or effect those tiles in anyway it will have no effect.

siphon the lands - if this spell was cast in a dungeon, it expanded the space for building, making a wasteland out of the rock. It was great, and I think it was officially written in the spell description before

@Мохель What do you mean by clear dungeon? I never had a spell that would clear the dungeon for you. If a spell was doing that then it might have been a bug that got fixed.

Hi! I remember that before one spell from the Tome of Wild Magic helped to clear the dungeon. Now I started playing with the mod, cast the spell for several cities.. And nothing happens. Is this how it should be? Now the spell does not clear the dungeons?

@Sindir This is great news to hear also love your tome have it in my current playlist. But yes the skills under the Giant skill need the accompanying tome in order to unlock. I based the tree unlock around Cobalt9077 "Tome Hero Skills" which unlocks skills as you unlock the tome. I thought the problem was they just couldn't put points into anything but if it's not being able to select the skills from my tree then it's just because the tome is not unlocked. I didn't want to have them unlocked from the start because they are very strong for early game and would cause a problem imbalance.

Actually my quick test showed: yes it´s all working as I expected:
at least in my test run, tome of wild magic unlocked the upper skill lines
and each one of the other tomes unlocked one of the skills in the bottom row.
So mod is working fine
@sks_blade did you considered that you need to unlock the skills?
Maybe make a quick test via cheat codes yourself with a fresh game

As the creator of "Tome of crystal attunement" mod I can say that I haven´t touched the hero skill system in any way... so my mod is innocent xD Btw thanks for using ;)
Though I also use this mod here and saw that I can´t activate any of the giant skills too... but I have no clue how they are supposed to work and thought I might need to "awake" them via researching one of the giant tomes?

@sks_blade I'm lost as to what is causing the problem cause I've haven't made a change in the mod in a week so for it to work one day this week and not the next is strange. I can't even produce the problem on my end. Are you on discord by any chance if so could you join the official Age of Wonder discord I would love to get a copy of your save game to see what is happening.

it is ervery hero type affected and yes, I have only your mod active. I played now til lvl 17-18 collected some of the tomes, but I am not able to put in skill points. I also made a data check of my game files and deleted the mod folder. I don't know what cause the problem.

@sks_blade I'm not sure what's causing the problem. I started the game up with just my mod on and got my Giant Hero up to level 15 and was able to put points into his skills both my modded skills ans base game skills with no problem. Is it only the giant or is it every hero type? Does it work if you have no mod activated?

@sks_blade I can't imagine why this could be happening I've never had a problem like this before. Could you try and unsubscribe from the mod and resubscribe and see it that fixes it. I'm in a game right now with like 75 mods on and haven't had a problem.

I tried to find out if there is a mod conflict, but couldn't find one. So I deactivated all mods except yours and I am still not able to add points into the Giant skills. So, for some unknown reason it stopped working.

I have now the same problem. since today I am no longer able to insert points into Giant skills. yesterday it still worked. the only thing that changes was an update from mod "Tome of crystal attunement". I deactivated it but noch change.

@517135428 Like you can't level them up? I don't touch the level/point system of the heroes just added my mine skill tree which never had a problem before. What other mods are you using?

Have you considered changing the bleeding effect on bleeding edge(with a name change to match)? Materium now has access to bleeding from the tome of rock creating an overlap.
Physical ranged units have no effects that grant sundered defence and it fits with the physical damage theme.

Note to all I have a update ready to go but am at work and won't be able to post it until after 5pm est on 4/1/2025 . When the new patch and DLC comes out somethings in the mod will be broken until I release my patch such as all custom units causing massive FPS lag when viewing them amongst other things. I am sorry for the late upload but I didn't want to upload pre-patch if people were finishing up their games because then it would break their saves.

As a tiny modder myself: We all should be really grateful for the possibilities of AI generated art. Otherwise a bunch of very cool mods would not be here at all.
Back in the day before AI I used to mod more: it was really hard to create textures and art for the smallest things all by yourself, this steals a lot of energy and pretty often resulted in unfinished mods.
Here in most mods creators use AI art (me included) because the mods are centered around the value they bring into the gameplay, not the art of icons you barely see.
I´m also (kinda) an artist and it´s true, in the world of art AI sucks, many don´t lable "their" art as AI generated and the whole marked is just flooded.
But in the fields where the actual work is not centered around the used art, you shouldn´t be to focused about the origin of the art. This stubborness just shields you from great experiences.
Btw. it´s also very problematic to just use art you find in the web law wise.

Great mod, sadly I need to stay with the limited DLC free version for now. But maybe I´ll buy the DLC just to be able to use your great work :D
Hopefully you don´t need to change much with the upcomming Giant King DLC.
I also created a crystal based tome and was kinda scared when I heared about the DLC content and the added tomes - they "stole" one of my ideas with the crystal reflection ability, but gladly my tome goes into a different direction so it´s all fine.
(So happy that I stopped the idea of creating a crystallization race transformation)

For the record pretty much every AoW4 modder that isn't using recolors of existing game icons is using AI images for their icons, mine included. If you want images that somewhat fit the game's art style and you lack the skill set to make them yourself it's basically the only practical option. Most generic fantasy art found online doesn't fit AoW4's particular art style and we don't have the money to commission bespoke art.

So unless you're volunteering to personally put in the work to find or make art for us we're just going to keep doing what we're doing.

Please try to keep in mind that we make this content as a hobby in our free time. (I know from experience that something with Age of Giants' scope must have taken hundreds of hours of work) We're just trying to make the content that we make and give away for free look nice, no one's losing their jobs here.

I mean, the mod is done for free - it's free labor. Additionally, you underestimate how hard it can be to find a good icon for what you need, especially the actual picture of the tome itself which is the greatest hurdle if going that route. He would also have to bother crediting every artist on every single piece of art he uses if we're going the "respect the artist" route, so this step becomes large in the grand scheme of things when making a mod, especially on the basis of time.

It'd be different if he was selling the tome itself or charged someone for the art but this is none of that. Also, it's a bit much to say it's okay to not take the step while, at the same time, saying it's not right to not take that step.

Honest to goodness, it's genuinely okay to use regular art that you find for your content. It's still considerably more respectful of the artist, if you can credit the artist of course well, you know its origin! It's not EASY to find art just on google / pinterest especially because, it's flooded with AI.

If you do take that step forward, in google you can add the tags "-ai -prompt" and it will exclude searches and sites that directly have those words in its name or description. You can find art on artstation and deviantart of course, even though there ARE still ai people on there. It's alright to not take that step but, I'd support you the whole way through for such a big move if given the chance. Either way, good luck in continuing to make it. :]

@Girl-rilla moder That is completely understandable I have zero art skills and I'm barely a modder this is my first real mod I've ever made in my life. I can understand the hate for using AI art instead of actual artist but I don't really have the means to hire someone to create and design icons for every skill that I have Plus when it comes to this game almost all the mods created use AI when it comes to the icons.
