To craft something, one needs a recipe. An item can only have 1 recipe and when adding a recipe, the item's price is now affected by the material you need to craft it. And it's accumulative.
So, if I add recipes, the final product will end up being really expensive and unbalanced (just think about it, a book that have the price of around 200+ ingredients)
Plus, if I set a static price for every item, that would mess with the balance of economy mods and so.
So, the answer was using 'refineries' the salvage station are refineries that transform ruined books to regular books. The same way a fuel refinery transform vegetables to fuel.
I have a question though - all the library's in the game have a Medical Workbench in the upper floor, the implication seeming to be that book binding and/or book salvaging is supposed to be done using that building.
I'm sure there has to be a reason for you to have created so many new buildings just for the required functions; but would it be possible to make a sub-mod allowing for it to be used in the Medical Workbench, for lore consistency reasons? I've tried fiddling around with the mod myself to see if I can insert the book salvaging/binding process to the existing Medical Workbench, but to no avail.

All of these stack to 10, so you can pretty much skip the storage part. except the books. Goal was to make it annoying enough for people to not automate everything easily (Sorry)
Is there a specific storage box I'm missing that I could build and solve this?
Thank you for making this mod; this has turned my little band of sword wielding idiots into a colony of book (...and sword still; it is kenshi after all) wielding nerds!
You're free to write my your ideas/text if you want me to add them as books. Even better if you can think something about Hivers, Skeleton, Cannibals and so.
You need to unlock the followings:
1) Hemp Farming: 2 books
2) Paper Making: 4 books
3) Book Craft: 3 books
4) Book Salvaging: 3 books.
5) Tech level 4 to research Book Salvaging: 16 books + 4 ancient scince books.
Total: 12 books + 16 books and 4 ancient science books to have Tech Level 4.
5 damage books = 1 book
I'm thinking something like this:
Research Books: From 60 to 40 books
Research Ancient Science Books: From 30 to 20 ancient science books.
Research Engineering Research: No changes done to the 10 engineering requeriment.
