I will add my permission would be required since I now own the mod.

The mod still works for the most part. I wonder if anyone would be willing to update it while preserving the original mechanics. I'll still be using it even if the special province improvement doesn't work anymore, bugs and all.

Timber gave the control of this mod to me. You can find the updated version here: Vectra's Age of Wonderful Tomes

does someone know if this mod still works after Mystic Update? I really would like to use this mod in my current and future playthroughs.

Is the knight Templar still mounted after the Golem update? (Thematically, I really like the way this looks!)

I noticed today that after the golem game update my game save file is 4x bigger than it would be with 76 added mods compared to the 24 basic mods I 'must have' to play the game

your mod did not add all of that but to a two player small map save file it adds 250 kb. that may not sound like much but prior to the golem update this is more than the 220 kb entire save file size for a two player small map game

please post if you can figure out how to fix this. until then I am tempted to turn off this mod (along with other save file space hogs). this is shame since I enjoyed using this tome

=======

I found two mods that add tomes that do NOT increase the save file size. perhaps they have a method or two you can use

Tome of Spiders (id=2973595407)
Tomes of Radiance (id=2980547647

Liking the Tome so far, but ran into a little issue. Judge's Fervor seems to be tagged as a debuff spell by Heart of Astral in the spell's description. Thankfully it doesn't seem to actually apply the Sundered Resistance. I haven't built the Root of Astral yet, so I don't know if it will apply the buff modifier.

@Timber could you please make the Judge's Vow add faithful also since currently there is no way for battlemage units to get faithful except the major transformation.

What Myles said, other than that it's an awesome mod! Just a weird typo.

I love the mod, but I just wanted to let you know that there is a small spelling mistake in the text. When you unlock the tome it says "grom" the face of the earth instead of "from".

Minor update to fix some datastore tags.

Since the ECU mod has templars, renamed this unit to Knight Justicar.
Kingmaker 20 Jun, 2023 @ 9:51am
I would posit that something simple like Paladin or Justicar would work better than either Knight Templar or Knight Judicator. Plus the Expanded Cultural Units mod already adds Templars, so that might be seen as a conflict.

Update: Lizard compatibility check. Makes the knight templar a cavalry unit if you select a cavalry option as your body trait.

Please inform me of any bugs with the latest patch.

You're telling me "knight judge" doesn't relay the flavor of The Tome of Divine Judgement more than "knight of the temple?"
Claymore Roomba 15 Jun, 2023 @ 2:14pm
@warriorandtoaster Templar literally means "the knight of the temple". Could be used just as freely as "paladin", "inquisitor" or whatever. And much better delivers the flavour then just a "knight-judge" you are proposing.
warriorandtoaster 14 Jun, 2023 @ 8:11pm
Seconding Knight Judicator or just Judicator for the rename, it's less RL-esoteric but still descriptive and relevant.
HumiesRGitzWAAAGGHHH 14 Jun, 2023 @ 11:57am
Overall I like your books. I'll give you more feedback as I playtest them more.

Another banger mod, awesome !
Also I think that Templar is the right name, reminds me of the Dragon Age templars.
That Human 14 Jun, 2023 @ 8:29am
Would probably call the knight "Knight Judicator" to better fit the theme. Knights Templar have a strong association with the crusades which could be confusing since it's not really the theme here.

Since you said you were going to look into it, this mod basically does it for most racial units from tomes: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2981540989

A quick look inside the mod should reveal the answer.
Turkfire 13 Jun, 2023 @ 9:13pm
Correction: I just checked in-game description and only the spirit damage is double not all damage. So not as broken as I thought just 6 extra damage per archer or 12 if you are playing it correctly with 100% crit rate
Turkfire 13 Jun, 2023 @ 9:09pm
Zeal gives you extra spirit damage yes but also makes you deal double damage against condemned units. As you said you enhance your archers with zeal already and increasing players access to condemn this much kinda breaks the balance. Not that I care much about balance I'm just saying.
Timber  [author] 13 Jun, 2023 @ 9:07pm
I do potentially agree that the damage on the smite might be a touch high, but I can always tune that down. But the busted stuff condemn does are already in the game with lower tier tomes.
Timber  [author] 13 Jun, 2023 @ 8:45pm
@Turkfire that... isn't what zeal does at all. Zeal units deal +2 spirit damage against condemned units. You also know you can get zeal on all archers from inquisition, right? And condemn in an aoe?
Timber  [author] 13 Jun, 2023 @ 8:44pm
@pelias unfortunately, no. I'm not sure how to change that currently, but I'll look into it!
Turkfire 13 Jun, 2023 @ 8:26pm
My man turned Oprah and gave everyone Condemn. You realize zeal unit deals double damage and this tome basically brakes any alpha strike focused archer builds right?
pelias117 13 Jun, 2023 @ 8:14pm
Would the templar be mounted, if I had the mount perk?
