I believe they use the original dwarf defence buildings so if you use the main Tier 3 Walls Returned mod they will have walls.

I have checked every Southern Realms faction and they all have walls on their defensive building. Another mod may be causing a conflict.

I guess the smaller, scattered populations mean that they also don't have the workforce to build even something as pitiful as crude stone fortifications like 🦣 mammoth 🦣 high walls that you can't climb or use but just to funnel the enemy into kill zones.

The lore reason is that Norsca is very barren and cold, it lacks the materials to build large-scale fortifications and lacks the food to feed such a settlement. It's also why the norscans are always raiding their neighbours, supplies for home plus glory for themselves and the gods.

The gameplay reason is that the developers just never made any Norsca-themed siege maps, so none of the settlements in Norsca have siege maps assigned to them. The only exceptions are Kraka Drak which has a dwarf map and isn't part of the no-walls-allowed zone, and the Warriors of Chaos' dark fortresses which are set to only be siege maps when the WoC own the settlement.

Since you mentioned it, why can't norsican territories have walls? I can understand the savages not having the skills or desire to build walls but I'd think that anyone invading to exterminate the pests would be very keen to build fortifications.

@The Dark Ranger I haven't changed anything, make sure you didn't turn the mod off by mistake.

@MightNight I didn't include Albion because Albion itself is part of the no-walls-allowed zone along with the rest of Norsca, and if Norscan factions have never been able to build walls, then Albion factions shouldn't get them either. Plus, lorewise, Albion is meant to be even wilder and less civilised than Norsca which, again, can't have walls.

For some reason it's still saying it will be unwalled settlment battles when I'm playing as the Southern Realms, I checked each sub culture and they were all the same.

Re-subscribed and still does not work. When I say it does not work I mean on the level III garisson building I don't see the text "add walls to the settlement"

Minor Settlement Battle Returner and Tier 3 Walls Returned are the only mods that are mutually exclusive with each other, since MSB Returner includes T3W. You can use T3W Custom Factions with either. I forgot to put Minor Settlement Battle Returner in the description.

And yes, you can use this mod without the others if you want only custom factions to get those walls. Hope this helps.

My guess is I should always use
- Tier 3 Walls Returned
- Tier 3 Walls Custom Factions (covering custom factions that the main mod doesn't cover, supporting Sigmar's Heirs, TEB plus more custom factions). AFAIK the custom factions mod does not require the main, I could also leave that out if I want AI factions to not get their tier 3 walls back, correct?

I believe so far so good. But with or without
- Tier 3 Minor Settlement Battle Returner? Or the latter includes Tier 3 Walls (but not custom factions)?

Might help others too.... I might be dumber than the average tho, haha! :)

1 thing that I struggle to wrap my head around though is if "Minor Settlement Battle Returner" is supposed to be activated TOGETHER with this mod - or if it's meant to be mutually exclusive, one or the other. It should probably be somewhat obvious from your mod descriptions (which are fine) but I just can't figure it out ;) Would you help?

So let's say I like playing with Empire - with Sigmar's Heirs plus TEB, Kislev and Dwarven factions. Therefore I like any defensive edge I can get (meaning I want classic minor settlement battles back, pre controversial CA change).

true to keep it simple but i am not sure if the frozen territory around kraka drak belongs to norsca at least on the dwarfen perspective. ;)
For example the legendary building "red moon inn" in ubersreik works the same way as the Ungruvalk Channel. Both are legendary buildings on tier 2 and able to provide a wall.
i understand you want to keep it simple, but i am 100% sure cataph wont bring any walls back since patch 2.2.

I think this should be brought to the original mod authors since this is a part of their mod that might not be working how it should be. Adding siege maps to Norsca is more complicated than you might think, and I need to keep this mod as simple as possible to make sure that it's compatible with all those custom faction mods.
