Yeah I only get an option to ask him about it once, after that the dialogue options are gone for good, nor do I have any options when I get to the proper place, he doesn't react to anything, its probably my mod list or something, I might give it a retry in the future.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 8 Jul @ 2:45pm
@JoeJamJalopy

You can ask about the map, the first time you re-ask you even get a +rep (very small bonus), but each time after that is just regular randomized text about the map and potential locations.

In fact, most things you find you can ask Morse about specifically.

@624932690

He should walk back to Admag after awhile, but he may get attacked and such along the way. The easiest way to reset the quest would be doing an Import at the main menu. This will respawn him back at the bar until you fully complete the quest.
624932690 7 Jul @ 11:14pm
Is it possible to redo the quest? Morse left after a while and that's the first time I realized he has the timer..
JoeJamJalopy 7 Jul @ 9:24pm
The fact you can't re ask him about the map is a huge glaring problem, I got to shark and i still have zero idea what to do or where to go besides victors shack and nothing happens, this really wasn't written well, I'll just kill morse and take his sword.

@Fragile

That probably isn't this mod. The only case I could think of is if Morse is with you (since he has an active bounty with them).

Unless you're anything besides a Greenlander, HN doesn't really pursue you except for random checks to see if you have the Holy Flame book with you, etc.
WEARER OF BRIEFS 19 Jun @ 12:48am
Why is holy nation basically attacking me on site though. Getting called "dark one" a lot.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 17 Jun @ 5:52am
@Fragile

Lol nice, good job bro :cactusrum:

Yeah if it's good weather conditions, he's definitely a really good sword swinger. Lucky dust storm led to an epic duel between a Samurai and a Knight haha
WEARER OF BRIEFS 17 Jun @ 3:08am
I left the ring ofc.
WEARER OF BRIEFS 17 Jun @ 2:57am
Lol I stupidly tried to jump him with three level 20 combat characters and everyone got shamrocked...except for my samurai. A dust storm hit and this guy Morse was missing all his shots, and my main killed him with his meager katana skills. Hahaha. I feel like I earned that sword.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 7 Jun @ 10:17am
@Issa

I don't think it's this mod that's causing that. I believe that's a base game function that can't (as far as I'm aware) be modified with the current mod tools. You may need to do an Import to see if that corrects the issue you're having.
Issa 7 Jun @ 8:13am
Not able to get strength from overencumbering is this intened?
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 28 May @ 5:10am
Hopefully I didn't break his dialogue this last update I did which was meant to fix items, but it may have pushed some rewrites on accident. Then again I've had others tell me they completed the quest in various ways, so I assumed it was alright lol.

After an Import it effectively resets his quest/timer, so he'd be back in Admag. I should've made a note of that previously, my bad :cactusrum:
JKNOX23 28 May @ 3:27am
So I tried to import the game and he disapppeared from Wash , I guess he got reseted, I reloaded a previous save because I lost Big Dave's bounty and I notice that Morse's green dot on map is no more and he's just patrolling town

https://imgur.com/a/2T9ta8c

I'll keep going on like this and if he decides to come back to me or something he will be welcome, but I like the mod so will be in my mod list for more playthroughs

As Orkboi I got a big mod collection to start playing so it may be some mod incompatibility maybe? I don't know, I haven't hired any mercenaries as I read it may cause problems by the way. But it's fine, don't get bothered too much about what happened.

Thank you for the mod!
JKNOX23 28 May @ 2:51am
Ok, I'll try to fix it somehow, thank you!
Orkboi 27 May @ 10:41pm
I found Victors house right after meeting Admag. This mod got on one of the most popular mod packs for Kenshi. Probably due to having 600+ mods, I couldn't get the proper dialogues to fire when i got to his house though. Ended up murdering them both and currently carrying their bounties to Holy Nation :D
Really cool concept though.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 27 May @ 7:35pm
@JKnox23

Not sure what could've happened with him not speaking to you. You may have to Import , or roll back to an earlier save.
JKNOX23 27 May @ 6:39pm
Hey, what's up guys!

I find myself at Wash with Morse and he went on a shopping and drinking spree while I was dealing with Big Dave, I've come back but he doesn't allow me to speak to him, what do I have to do to preogress the quest?

Thank you!
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 9 Feb @ 9:07pm
@All

Reverted to a previous version from last year (that's how often I update my mods lol...) to hopefully fix some broken dialogues I may have accidentally pushed.

There will be an odd amount of med kits, as that's what I intended to fix recently, but hopefully my dialogue edits are reverted now and fix the Ending sequence. 🙏
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 7 Feb @ 6:28pm
Ah from this mod lol, was trying to ask where in the RPG Collection.

Morse is a unique recruit, his stats aren't necessarily super OP (it's mostly to fit with his backstory, if you talk to him long enough), but his Sword which is a unique one of a kind weapon that can be pretty devastating with decently high stats. If you talk to Morse long enough, he'll explain who the Sword was originally intended for.

I could probably rebalance his stats in particular, but it was mostly an attempt to help guide Players into the quest line and prevent him from immediately being KOed/killed during the quest, as the Swamps is pretty dangerous. And for him to be able to properly use the Sword as talked about above lol :cactusrum:
Saronite 7 Feb @ 5:55pm
These characters have really powerful stats at the start and can be hired cheap, any way to fix that?
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 31 Oct, 2024 @ 6:07am
Thank you for the comment, it did make me laugh as it seems you're the first comment to mention trying it backwards. :cactusrum::beeped:

I tried to account for various ways to complete the quest, but just due to the nature of dialogue packages and unlockers/lockers for them, it became some what complex lol (can always look at the .mod file if you're ever interested, it serves as a modders resource/tutorial as well.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 31 Oct, 2024 @ 6:04am
@ToothDooD

Lol no problem, glad you found the mod and wanted to try it out!

Yes, actually. If you loot that one Letter in Victor's house, you can just give it to Morse and he'll auto recruit. You'll know the Letter in question, as it's probably locked somewhere in his house . I never did get around to finishing that portion of the dialogue, as I spent waaay too long on the other direction for the quest (the Path through Morse).

It's currently mostly jokey placeholder texts, unfortunately. Maybe in the future I can finish that portion (have to figure out how to make it make sense in a story way, I suppose lol, since you're technically going backwards). I got a sort of writer's block once I started trying to reserve the quest if you encountered it like this instead.

Technically if you do Import, it more than likely will reset the entire quest back to normal (assuming you didn't kill Victor ).
ToothDooD 31 Oct, 2024 @ 2:06am
Hey so I downloaded this as part of a mod collection I found, which I didn't realize this mod was a part of, (but I'm eager to try i!) and just so happened to have found a character named Victor and saw he had a huge bounty on him. So naturally as poor as I am I beat the crap out of him and all his friends. Afterward I was intrigued on learning more about the character and found he was linked to this mod (plus finding a few interesting items) I wanted to know if I was still able to complete mores's quest without import. I haven't even started it yet.
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 23 Oct, 2024 @ 3:37am
@Diegorayado2003

Guess you got a nice sword for your troubles :steamlaughcry:

You can still finish the Quest without him, but it might be a bad ending . :cactusrum:
diegorayado2003 23 Oct, 2024 @ 1:08am
What happens if he got eaten alive by some spiders while traveling to the destination?
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 22 Oct, 2024 @ 7:28pm
There are outcomes if you fail entirely, such as Stealing his Claymore, killing him, stealing the map, killing certain people, etc. .

I tried to cover what I thought would possibly happen with various World States and dialogue lockers/unlockers
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 22 Oct, 2024 @ 7:22pm
@SirReggie

If you wait a few days (for Morse to walk back to town lol), you can attempt the Quest again. Since Kenshi does Kenshi Things and you might not be able to trigger the "2nd chance" dialogue, you can just do an Import Game and he'll completely reset.

I'd recommend dropping Quest Items if you do plan on Importing to redo the quest, but ultimately up to you lol :cactusrum::beeped:

There is technically an outcome if you fail both times, but it may or may not trigger sometimes (Kenshi Things lol).
SirReggie 22 Oct, 2024 @ 5:57pm
So... What do I do if I don't finish the quest within 7-10 days, and Morse just leaves? Suck it up and hope I do better on my next playthrough?
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 11 Sep, 2024 @ 12:18am
@Everyone

I realized that after I pushed the last update on the 21st of August, that it may have changed some dialogue texts (was rewriting most of the dialogue for clarity, etc.), so if you notice any oddities please let me know lol.

I took a quick look over of most of the dialogue, but nothing too extraordinary was changed with the rewrites, so it should *feel* the same even if you've played the Quest before :cactusrum::beeped:
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 21 Aug, 2024 @ 1:56pm
Updated some of the loot you may find on the Ninjas . This was brought up by @moonracer in the Bug Reporting discussion a few months ago. Finally got around to fixing it. Hopefully the newest version of FCS didn't totally break everything :steamsad:
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 18 Aug, 2024 @ 8:08am
@Zendir Heartfire

Yes, there's a game start called "Pathless in the Dark..." which is like a quick start to the quest, it has some added conditions like -15 (randomized-ish) relations with the Holy Nation, some basic gear, randomized stats in various skills, and starts in Admag where you can find "Morse" if you decide to do that quest.

The quest should be doable at an early level (like the game start), or you can always come back later on if you want to explore the area first.
Zendir Heartfire 17 Aug, 2024 @ 9:22pm
This could be considered like a story mode start right?
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 3 Aug, 2024 @ 11:41am
@Grig

You can do a "Import Game" on the main menu (best to do this after exiting fully from the game, or there can be problems lol). This will restart Morse's entire quest, due to the way the game works, assuming you haven't gotten to one of the various endings. :cactusrum:
Grig 3 Aug, 2024 @ 11:30am
Hello,
After loading the game i can't talk to Morse, i have to wait for him to leave so i can again initiate dialog.
I have a trader following me around.
MizKai 12 Apr, 2024 @ 4:10am
okay cool tnx
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 12 Apr, 2024 @ 4:02am
@MizKai

Sure, it's @IgorDolvich on discord.

I do also recommend joining the Kenshi Community Discord [discord.com] as well, as there's a lot of people who know the FCS tools *way* better than I do lol
MizKai 12 Apr, 2024 @ 2:53am
Hello, do u have discord? Or can i add u on steam, cuz i have things to asks about how to make ur own npcs and their dialogue. If that's okay, i've searched how to make dialogue. But like mostly basics... Specially the bodyguard ai, i want to clarify it...
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 6 Mar, 2024 @ 12:10am
Quest items, such as the Map is what I mean. Although... you may find a neat event otherwise (no spoilers lol)
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 6 Mar, 2024 @ 12:09am
@Clubber Lang

Sure, it's pretty easy to "reset" the quest if it bugs out (Kenshi being Kenshi lol). You'll need to Import Game on your save. You'll need to meet up with him again in Admak, since he'll effectively "respawn" and start the quest over.

I'd recommend dropping any of the Quest Items you may have collected (you should be able to tell which ones I'm talking about, since the description texts are written in a certain way) before restarting the quest. But, up to you lol.

Do you know what happened before he decided to leave? Or did you just run out of time?
Clubber Lang 6 Mar, 2024 @ 12:04am
He left my party. Is there a way to get him back?
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 14 Jan, 2024 @ 6:31pm
Also good idea with the bounty adjustment, might help reinforce the idea to look for Victor as some people who playtested this were kinda lost on what you're supposed to do lol

(I had to rewrite the dialogues / item descriptions and some prompts to kinda highlight it further haha)
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 14 Jan, 2024 @ 6:29pm
@VHNebula

Thank you for the suggestion!

There's actually a few hidden rewards from Victor as well which can add up, particularly if you're a stealthy pickpocket :2017stickycrab:

I kinda just picked amounts I felt were "fair" for almost like a small jumpstart quest that can help you get setup, particularly for the modlist since things are pretty expensive early on.

If you're using the mod list, there's also a nearby Settlement called "Squatter's Rites", which you can take over as a Player settlement, it already has a few walls, a *broken* gate and some ruined buildings you can restore.

I'm glad you're liking the modlist too bro, it was a lot of fun to get setup and running without any *big* issues (I created a lot of patches and so did @Anrhaa haha).

:cactusrum::beeped:
VHNebula 14 Jan, 2024 @ 11:51am
I'd keep the optional recruitment and sword reward, it's a good item unique to him and he's a pretty strong recruit. I think he gives you 5k cats at the beginning as payment for your help too. Victor pays you if you kill big dave, 15k i think. The quest was described as a good introduction, so a 15k cat reward for a swamp ninja level enemy is pretty fair too. Maybe victor could have a cage in his house and dave could have a bounty set by victor's faction instead of the shek kingdom, because now you can also take dave's body to the shek and get another 25k on top of the 15k that victor gives you. Also I just wanted to say I love your modpack. I've gone through and changed a bunch of stuff but the core is still the same and it plays really well. :beeped:
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 14 Jan, 2024 @ 7:44am
Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad people are trying it out and having fun with it :2017stickycrab:
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 14 Jan, 2024 @ 7:42am
@VHNebula

Yeah I kinda went back and forth with the rewards, it really depends on how you do the quest as there's a few different endings depending on how you progressed it (different rewards, Morse recruitment , etc.).

I had fun figuring out how to do quest flags, as it doesn't seem like Kenshi really utilizes the system at all except for like a handful of events lol

One day I'll go back through and rebalance it, I also rewrote a lot of the dialogues to tidy it up a bit, but just never ended up releasing it (I replayed the quest like 30 times, got burnt out with play testing it over and over with the dozen flags I created) :cactusrum:
VHNebula 13 Jan, 2024 @ 7:24pm
Fun quest, I think the reward is a little too high, maybe morse doesn't need to pay
Dr. Igor Dolvich  [author] 18 Nov, 2023 @ 8:56pm
@Ouranos

That's the limitation of the Bodyguard AI, although you can make it slightly easier on yourself by changing a few of the AI settings (AI tab in the Squad menu). This will let you respond automatically if Morse gets injured or whatever.

Morse uses the AI that Bodyguard you hire from bars, which is why he's pretty aggressive. It's the only way currently to get NPCs to follow you for the most part.

If they ever run off, open your map and they should appear as a green dot. This works even if they run off very far and/or become unconscious. :cactusrum:
Caelum 18 Nov, 2023 @ 4:56pm
While I'd love to try and actually do Morse's questline, he runs off so easily and it's so easy to lose him that through three imports I never actually get to do anything he offers. While the idea of him not immediately joining is novel (and probably vital to his scripting), I can't really recommend this to anyone who isn't willing to babysit Morse or beeline his questline the whole way through.
