You can ask about the map, the first time you re-ask you even get a +rep (very small bonus), but each time after that is just regular randomized text about the map and potential locations.
In fact, most things you find you can ask Morse about specifically.

He should walk back to Admag after awhile, but he may get attacked and such along the way. The easiest way to reset the quest would be doing an Import at the main menu. This will respawn him back at the bar until you fully complete the quest.
If you have any questions or concerns about the translation, please feel free to contact me.

That probably isn't this mod. The only case I could think of is if Morse is with you (since he has an active bounty with them).
Unless you're anything besides a Greenlander, HN doesn't really pursue you except for random checks to see if you have the Holy Flame book with you, etc.
Lol nice, good job bro
Yeah if it's good weather conditions, he's definitely a really good sword swinger. Lucky dust storm led to an epic duel between a Samurai and a Knight haha
I don't think it's this mod that's causing that. I believe that's a base game function that can't (as far as I'm aware) be modified with the current mod tools. You may need to do an Import to see if that corrects the issue you're having.
After an Import it effectively resets his quest/timer, so he'd be back in Admag. I should've made a note of that previously, my bad

I'll keep going on like this and if he decides to come back to me or something he will be welcome, but I like the mod so will be in my mod list for more playthroughs
As Orkboi I got a big mod collection to start playing so it may be some mod incompatibility maybe? I don't know, I haven't hired any mercenaries as I read it may cause problems by the way. But it's fine, don't get bothered too much about what happened.
Thank you for the mod!
Really cool concept though.
Not sure what could've happened with him not speaking to you. You may have to Import , or roll back to an earlier save.
I find myself at Wash with Morse and he went on a shopping and drinking spree while I was dealing with Big Dave, I've come back but he doesn't allow me to speak to him, what do I have to do to preogress the quest?
Thank you!
Reverted to a previous version from last year (that's how often I update my mods lol...) to hopefully fix some broken dialogues I may have accidentally pushed.
There will be an odd amount of med kits, as that's what I intended to fix recently, but hopefully my dialogue edits are reverted now and fix the Ending sequence. 🙏
Morse is a unique recruit, his stats aren't necessarily super OP (it's mostly to fit with his backstory, if you talk to him long enough), but his Sword which is a unique one of a kind weapon that can be pretty devastating with decently high stats. If you talk to Morse long enough, he'll explain who the Sword was originally intended for.
I could probably rebalance his stats in particular, but it was mostly an attempt to help guide Players into the quest line and prevent him from immediately being KOed/killed during the quest, as the Swamps is pretty dangerous. And for him to be able to properly use the Sword as talked about above lol
I tried to account for various ways to complete the quest, but just due to the nature of dialogue packages and unlockers/lockers for them, it became some what complex lol (can always look at the .mod file if you're ever interested, it serves as a modders resource/tutorial as well.
Lol no problem, glad you found the mod and wanted to try it out!
Yes, actually. If you loot that one Letter in Victor's house, you can just give it to Morse and he'll auto recruit. You'll know the Letter in question, as it's probably locked somewhere in his house . I never did get around to finishing that portion of the dialogue, as I spent waaay too long on the other direction for the quest (the Path through Morse).
It's currently mostly jokey placeholder texts, unfortunately. Maybe in the future I can finish that portion (have to figure out how to make it make sense in a story way, I suppose lol, since you're technically going backwards). I got a sort of writer's block once I started trying to reserve the quest if you encountered it like this instead.
Technically if you do Import, it more than likely will reset the entire quest back to normal (assuming you didn't kill Victor ).
Guess you got a nice sword for your troubles
You can still finish the Quest without him, but it might be a bad ending .
I tried to cover what I thought would possibly happen with various World States and dialogue lockers/unlockers
If you wait a few days (for Morse to walk back to town lol), you can attempt the Quest again. Since Kenshi does Kenshi Things and you might not be able to trigger the "2nd chance" dialogue, you can just do an Import Game and he'll completely reset.
I'd recommend dropping Quest Items if you do plan on Importing to redo the quest, but ultimately up to you lol
There is technically an outcome if you fail both times, but it may or may not trigger sometimes (Kenshi Things lol).
I realized that after I pushed the last update on the 21st of August, that it may have changed some dialogue texts (was rewriting most of the dialogue for clarity, etc.), so if you notice any oddities please let me know lol.
I took a quick look over of most of the dialogue, but nothing too extraordinary was changed with the rewrites, so it should *feel* the same even if you've played the Quest before
Yes, there's a game start called "Pathless in the Dark..." which is like a quick start to the quest, it has some added conditions like -15 (randomized-ish) relations with the Holy Nation, some basic gear, randomized stats in various skills, and starts in Admag where you can find "Morse" if you decide to do that quest.
The quest should be doable at an early level (like the game start), or you can always come back later on if you want to explore the area first.
You can do a "Import Game" on the main menu (best to do this after exiting fully from the game, or there can be problems lol). This will restart Morse's entire quest, due to the way the game works, assuming you haven't gotten to one of the various endings.
After loading the game i can't talk to Morse, i have to wait for him to leave so i can again initiate dialog.
I have a trader following me around.
Sure, it's @IgorDolvich on discord.
I do also recommend joining the Kenshi Community Discord [discord.com] as well, as there's a lot of people who know the FCS tools *way* better than I do lol
Sure, it's pretty easy to "reset" the quest if it bugs out (Kenshi being Kenshi lol). You'll need to Import Game on your save. You'll need to meet up with him again in Admak, since he'll effectively "respawn" and start the quest over.
I'd recommend dropping any of the Quest Items you may have collected (you should be able to tell which ones I'm talking about, since the description texts are written in a certain way) before restarting the quest. But, up to you lol.
Do you know what happened before he decided to leave? Or did you just run out of time?
(I had to rewrite the dialogues / item descriptions and some prompts to kinda highlight it further haha)
Thank you for the suggestion!
There's actually a few hidden rewards from Victor as well which can add up, particularly if you're a stealthy pickpocket
I kinda just picked amounts I felt were "fair" for almost like a small jumpstart quest that can help you get setup, particularly for the modlist since things are pretty expensive early on.
If you're using the mod list, there's also a nearby Settlement called "Squatter's Rites", which you can take over as a Player settlement, it already has a few walls, a *broken* gate and some ruined buildings you can restore.
I'm glad you're liking the modlist too bro, it was a lot of fun to get setup and running without any *big* issues (I created a lot of patches and so did @Anrhaa haha).
Yeah I kinda went back and forth with the rewards, it really depends on how you do the quest as there's a few different endings depending on how you progressed it (different rewards, Morse recruitment , etc.).
I had fun figuring out how to do quest flags, as it doesn't seem like Kenshi really utilizes the system at all except for like a handful of events lol
One day I'll go back through and rebalance it, I also rewrote a lot of the dialogues to tidy it up a bit, but just never ended up releasing it (I replayed the quest like 30 times, got burnt out with play testing it over and over with the dozen flags I created)
That's the limitation of the Bodyguard AI, although you can make it slightly easier on yourself by changing a few of the AI settings (AI tab in the Squad menu). This will let you respond automatically if Morse gets injured or whatever.
Morse uses the AI that Bodyguard you hire from bars, which is why he's pretty aggressive. It's the only way currently to get NPCs to follow you for the most part.
If they ever run off, open your map and they should appear as a green dot. This works even if they run off very far and/or become unconscious.
