can you add fractures when you are hit by a bullet? it would be cool with bandits mods or in MP servers
pieandcheese647  [author] 3 Jun @ 2:56pm
I'm not sure, but the wound infection system used here is one I personally feel is balanced on the default settings.
number1millipedefan 1 Jun @ 5:22pm
is this compatible with "Disinfect or Die But Playable", a remake of the original disinfect or die?
number1millipedefan 30 May @ 9:06pm
alright  take your time, good luck on ur other shit!!
pieandcheese647  [author] 28 May @ 12:30pm
Been so busy with other stuff I basically haven't had time to work on any of my hobbies. I still plan on doing it. Eventually.
number1millipedefan 25 May @ 12:43pm
what's your progress on the 42 update?
number1millipedefan 17 May @ 11:06pm
Orph3us I've been using it with Antibodies and have had no issues so far. I also have The Only Cure installed, but I haven't had a chance to really use any of it's features yet so I can't confirm for sure that it works. No conflictions yet though, can't imagine why it wouldn't work
Orph3us 3 Mar @ 3:23pm
Is this mod compatible with "Not Useless Things" (use of cologne and perfume to disinfect bandages), "Antibodies" (beating the zombie infection with antibodies) and "The Only Cure" (allowing to cut off limbs to remove zombie infection)?
ZaidIsm 21 Jan @ 10:26pm
Fragrances contain alcohol and can be used as an anti-septic for last resort.
ZaidIsm 2 Jan @ 2:39am
Also, is this compatible with either First Aid Overhaul or First Aid Expanded?
ZaidIsm 1 Jan @ 8:03am
And if not cologne or perfume, could you add soap and water for cleaning wounds?
ZaidIsm 1 Jan @ 8:00am
Apparently in emergencies, in the absence of anything else, they are better than nothing. Perhaps you could make them much less effective than the typical disinfectant and alcohol wipes? With the potential to actually make the infection worse?
pieandcheese647  [author] 1 Jan @ 6:32am
N-no? Fragrances are not antiseptic? Why would they work as disinfectant?
ZaidIsm 1 Jan @ 3:10am
Let me sterilize wounds with perfume and cologne

I’m working on a build 42 release, I’ve just been delayed because of holidays and family.

The build 42 remake will include a lot more features that I originally cut for time or scope, so it will be even bigger in changes.
Hasa 30 Dec, 2024 @ 4:13pm
your mod is a must-have, will you update to build 42 ? or maybe are you waiting for the stable release ?
pieandcheese647  [author] 23 Oct, 2024 @ 7:59am
Chopie the cat, I'm perfectly fine with that. If you need any help with it, send me a friend request so we can talk technicals in messages instead of comments
Chopie The Cat 22 Oct, 2024 @ 7:17pm
Not saying I'm going to since I'm lazy, but is there a possibility of me making a patch for that? Aka using a custom func call and call it on the target client? Love the mod btw, used it in every event so far. I'm making my own mod for autopsies since i think the medical skill can use more lol.
pieandcheese647  [author] 22 Oct, 2024 @ 7:02pm
Chopie the cat, yeah thats an issue with the client-server networking. It should work for peer to peer (hosted by a steam friend rather than a dedicated server) if my memory serves, but I haven’t had a chance to run thorough tests on a dedicated server since I don’t have one. The same issues apply to cauterization, which is a shame.

I do have a theory for a fix I will aim to implement in the B42 remake, which will hopefully swap the calculations to the proper client and make it work.
Chopie The Cat 22 Oct, 2024 @ 1:21pm
Is there a reason that the medical menu doesn't work for hurting other players? I've only had one person try it, and it simply didn't work (IE you can't use the medical check menu to injure other players in specific areas). Only bug I've found so far!
Luma 22 Oct, 2024 @ 7:47am
i just wanted to say thanks for making this mod. I really love it. it's one of my favorite with turning off the zombie virus and turning up wound severity it creates a really nice level of difficulty and management of sterilized rags just feels really fun. excited to see the version on B42 when it comes out but happy to wait for it
aquelarrefox 13 Oct, 2024 @ 12:19pm
Something I would like to see are some alternative ways to remove a bullet line with a knife with higher first aid level.
pieandcheese647  [author] 23 Sep, 2024 @ 7:42am
I'm taking a break from modding until B42. Once B42 drops I plan on remaking this mod from the ground up, including some extra things I initially cut. Until then, I don't plan on touching modding.
Leo5 22 Sep, 2024 @ 7:35am
is this mod still being worked on?
-_- 4 Sep, 2024 @ 11:59am
@pieandcheese647 Oh, thank you, Doc!
pieandcheese647  [author] 4 Sep, 2024 @ 11:54am
It's not one line, its in every wound treatment action. Without it, there is no way to tell whether a treatment is botched. It serves a purpose, despite being annoying, I know.

I plan on remaking this mod ground up come b42 and changing the botch notification is one of the things I'll change, but until then I'm trying to avoid getting burned out of modding now that college has started.
-_- 4 Sep, 2024 @ 11:43am
@pieandcheese647 What line in the code do I need to delete to make it disappear? I can't find.
pieandcheese647  [author] 4 Sep, 2024 @ 10:49am
Ah, sorry for misunderstanding.

The "I could've done that better" message when you do first aid is used to show you've botched a treatment. Leveling up first aid or taking Doctor as a profession will make it less frequent as you're not botching treatments.
-_- 4 Sep, 2024 @ 8:43am
@pieandcheese647 I mean, when you're dressing a wound. =) (Sorry translater)

Where to turn off notifications ?
Mayu~ 31 Aug, 2024 @ 6:30am
This makes the game stutter a lot while interacting with the health panel due to how it checks every single container (and some errors pops up about joe's rucksacks)
Tarious 26 Aug, 2024 @ 8:06am
It's a side-effect of a few different mods, I've noticed, such as the unforked zRe betterLockpicking (2929123989) mod. Not really sure what could be causing it exactly as things like trait/job overhauls such as SOTO (2840805724) don't inherently seem to cause this issue, just sometimes.

Oddly, using mods like More Description for Traits (2685168362) adds the new text, but keeps the additional skill entry bug. So it doesn't seem to be a conflict... but maybe something IndieStone have changed in localization?
pieandcheese647  [author] 26 Aug, 2024 @ 7:17am
Sorvete Supreme, you right click on the body part as if you were applying a bandage then choose "stab" or "smash" accordingly.

Tarious, that is odd. I thought it was a different mod causing that. I'll look into it.
Tarious 26 Aug, 2024 @ 6:43am
Seems to duplicate the text field for traits that have skill increases, such as Gardener having two instances of +1 Farming. This doesn't have a mechanical effect, thankfully, but it does look strange.
Sorvete Supreme 25 Aug, 2024 @ 7:52pm
Dumb question, but how to do self harm? Tried to do it via health menu, dragging a kitchen knife and a hunting knife on my leg or arms and nothing. So, how do you do it?
Obi Wan Kenobi 22 Jul, 2024 @ 9:25am
Hello Male Walrus, yes this mod works with MP servers, the biggest change is swapping infected wounds to cause sickness, rather than just take longer to heal. You can tweak the sickness effect to more or less in the sanbox settings.
Male Walrus 13 Jul, 2024 @ 4:41pm
Hey everyone, does this mod currently still work with mp servers? Also, how much difficulty does it add to the medical. I have a medical professional friend who feels his first aid skill doesn't matter in vanilla due to bandages being able to full heal automatically as long as you change them out. I really appreciate every reply, thanks!
angelgirlsutures 21 Jun, 2024 @ 11:44am
Finally, another modder who roleplays medical personnel! This mod is an invaluable addition to my modlist, as are your other mods. Thank you!
Captain Happy 19 Jun, 2024 @ 11:30pm
While I can make a character that is a Paramedic, when remaking a character on the death screen Paramedic is not one of the selectable professions.
aquelarrefox 9 Jun, 2024 @ 8:21pm
Why the only cure is not compatible with this mod? Is the UI?
Xianah ~ Nana 28 May, 2024 @ 7:13am
Hi, this mod is cool but there are some reciepe that are impossible to do. Desinfectant bottle, antibiotic, everything with wild garlic won't work. Could it be fixed please, same for the nurse specific craft, I have all the items needed but I can't craft it. Thanks
BeljikPakiBlanc 21 May, 2024 @ 5:43am
How to cauterise? no option to do so
Banjo 14 May, 2024 @ 11:40am
any chance of compatibility with the new Only Cure mod? no pressure or anything if you even read these lmao
love the mod :D
aquelarrefox 14 Apr, 2024 @ 7:33pm
is posible to add to the bangage menu something like "Replace Bandage"mod?
Harkness 24 Mar, 2024 @ 11:36pm
Ughhh okay. I have a deep wound on my left thigh, I stitched it with a suture, I disinfected it multiple times and kept it wrapped with sterile bandages. When I took the stitches out it was a scratch. Left it for another day and took the bandage off assuming it would be healed and it returned to being a deep wound...
aBronyPlays 23 Mar, 2024 @ 3:13pm
sometimes you can remove a bandage and the wound is gone, but you continue to take damage. you cannot treat this invisible wound, and then it kills you. this has happened more than once.
aquelarrefox 8 Feb, 2024 @ 7:15pm
well you convinceme that this is the best first aid mod, bro, good work.
Is "Danger Moodles (Cold and Flu)" compatible with your mod?
pieandcheese647  [author] 1 Feb, 2024 @ 1:52pm
iirc it’s a laceration with a blunt weapon (indicated by the “smash” option) and a deep wound for a bladed weapon (indicated by the “stab” option). For both, the severity of the wound is determined by the damage of the weapon, so stabbing someone with a scalpel will require less time to recover than a fire axe or katana.
knoife 31 Jan, 2024 @ 10:40am
Out of curiosity what are the odds of causing a Scratch, Laceration or Deep Wound from intentionally causing an injury?
