My favorite mod. But I modify it a little with the Total Control mod – I add Lycanthrope from the Vanilla Races Expanded - Lycanthrope mod.
I arm them with long-range weapons and they act as bodyguards.

Now, inspired by other mods, I'm thinking of adding a suicide belt to them and also leaving only melee weapons. So that they thin out the defense a little. But I'm not sure they'll be faster than vampires.

Or to put this belt on the vampires themselves. They will survive, but others will be in trouble.

Just tested it, the bug, a raid has all of the xenotypes. Ergo it is entirely visual and it only shows on the faction info window. Adding a warning would be nice.

@zecond - Unable to replicate on my end. How many raids have you gotten? If it is consistently ONLY those three over the course of multiple raids, then there might be some conflict with your modlist. If you're only reporting the result from a single raid, that's just how RNG works.

I have AG, Vampires Demons and the Undead, and VRE-Vampires, your faction is getting only the Vanilla Sanguonophage, Dracul and White rose. Nothing else shows.

In a similar vein to (≡◉‿‿◉≡), similar faction mods would likely get very popular very easily, since most don't want to fiddle around with Total Control or mod themselves.

Anyway I absolutely love this. Question: thinking of adding some anomaly stuff? These guys seem like they'd be into that.

@charliemor07 it might have already set the xenotype spawn rates and not be changing them. Use Total Control to fix things up!

@McLets - That sounds like some sort of conflict not necessarily from this mod itself, I play with a good 300ish mods on my modpack, so maybe CE has something to do with it? Maybe? Who knows.

With this mod enabled, the game kept crashing due to "unexpected stack overflow." Not sure where to put the crash log, but another issue, one that may or may not have caused it, was that the pawnkinds added by this mod kept spawning wearing warcasket bodysuits with a ridiculous amount more in their inventories. Not sure if this is because of CE or not.

@Anon - That would probably be a better way of doing it, yeah. I could remake my mod and do it that way, but that would be a lot of games messed up with the removal of a faction and I'd rather not do that to people.

If you make a mod using that method, I wouldn't mind marking this mod as deprecated and redirecting to your mod.

Inside RimWorld\Data\Biotech\Defs\FactionDefs\Factions_Misc.xml at the bottom there is a def for a faction called Sanguophages and they have their own ideology preset that is defined at RimWorld\Data\Biotech\Defs\PreconfiguredIdeos\IdeoPresetDefs.xml

Have you considered making this faction not hidden and patching it to make it playable as an enemy in the same way you did? I think patching the vanilla faction with the vanilla ideoligion will make it better to play with rather than creating a duplicate from scratch

Do they have the same vanilla Sanguophage Ideology? The game already generates a hidden ideology for the vampires in the Sanguophage visit quest, the faction should have the same ideology

I have gotten a couple raids from this faction and everyone of them seems to be a white rose. i have the big and small mod and VRE snaguaphages and alpha genes, xenotype spawn controller had whiterose set to 100% and all the others to 0. resetting it set whiterose to 100% as well.

What, did I strike a nerve? Relax. I just feel like if there were a group of vampires that banded together to escape or protect themselves from being hunted, and they saw that you are/have a vampire in your faction, then they'd be friendly with you. It just makes sense logically.

@D3K43 - Factions can't suddenly be friendly if you have a pawn that meets the criteria in your faction. Factions can determine who is and isn't friendly based on a given faction list. Biotech's Sanguophage start doesn't start you as a PlayerSanguophage faction, it starts you as a PlayerColony which is the same things that Crashlanded and Rich Explorer scenario starts you as.

I could create a custom PlayerSanguophage faction then patch it over into the sanguophage scenario, it wouldn't be that difficult, but I don't know if that's what other people would want. The faction is made inherently to be a hostile faction towards all other factions and I'd assume that's what the 2,000 subscribers to the mod are expecting when they actually play with the mod.

If you start as a sanguophage, or have sanguophages in your faction, is the faction still hostile to you?

@schoolboichris - Since I can't replicate, I can't really help you in any way. If it appears in your debug log I could take a look at it but otherwise am unsure what I could do to help.

@Holly Jolly Ocarina hello, can you please make another faction too but with Pigskins?

Or is there a way to use your mod coding just to change the xenotype into a pigskin faction. IDK much about coding, but if it's just replacing the parts. I can do it.

There's the Medieval Fantasy Xenotype, but it has too much dependencies and features. I really like to see a medieval faction pigskin but I haven't seen any mods that add this. There's the Orc Filthy Invasion but I rather avoid HAR since for me biotech is much better.

vampires cant be truly gay in the same way they cant be truly straight. they are unliving, unfeeling monsters that prey on the blood of mortals. they are driven by their hunger. any vampire you encounter that says theyre gay is merely trying to lull you into a false sense of security by preying on your desire to not be homophobic

@tutankhamun Seriously, vampires ARE gay. Carmilla is an older story than Dracula and part of the reason she's portrayed as a 'villain' is because she seduces Laura.

Anne Rice, Castlevania, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, What We Do in the Shadows, Metal Gear Solid. I could list classic movies but you can read Wikipedia too, and they're mostly inspired by Carmilla, which I already mentioned.

Why would anyone think vampires would be STRAIGHT?

@Tutankhamun - I pretty much just copied what Core sanguophages were, not sure what the benefit of limiting the ages and disabling those traits will do. I'm not looking to make "vampires but better", just a sang faction using base RimWorld sanguophages.

vampires are now true vampires. they wear hyperweave, synthread and devilstrand apparels on them, age around 30~45. all have increased melee ability. Specified traits ( no gay, pyromaniac, nudist, etc.)
