hi tried the mod, somehow when using the controller i can lock the gate, but its when im inside so i cant go out. i tried using it outside and i can enter without issues. is it possible to lock from the outside?

so im guessing that means the double wrought iron gate wont be able to? thats a shame cause thats the one were using at our base

In technical terms, "only built by the player" means that the IsoObject of the gate is the correct one only when a player builds it.
I've tested my mod with the Build Menu mod a few days ago, and it worked without problems, but only with the gates this mod supports (check the images)

to be clear when you say it only works on gates build by the player, does that mean only basegame gates or would it also work on gates you normally cant build but using build menu mod you can?

Yeah I know, but I really only play MP with my friends, and even with the update out, I'm waiting to test with them. TIS said that it "should't" take long for MP, but only God knows.
Also, I'm expecting a lot of code changes when MP is out, because they said that Item management will be on server-side.
When I finish all the current implementations I'm working on, I'll take a look on what it needs for an Alpha for B42 ;)

For everyone before @[OFc] Lazarus, all your issues where answered in the Bug Reports topic.
For suggestions and other things, there's also the Suggestions topic.
For you @[OFc] Lazarus, I think someone had a issue before with Nois attachments. The rifle sling mod works, because I use it myself, but the attachments change something on the vanilla files, that change bugs out the hotbar feature sadly. Needs to be fixed by the author.

Hey so activating the controller via the hotbar has suddenly stopped working for me and the other players on my server. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting (both us as players and the controllers), neither worked. Any ideas? Only think thats changed it the addtion of Noir's attachments and rifle slings. Any chance it could be them?

If anyone is interested, I've managed to make this mod and the sensors mod somewhat compatible by disabling the latter's interactions with door-type tiles.

comment out the following lines in those files
lua\client\ls_actions.lua -- 109 to 118
lua\client\ls_menu.lua -- 58 to 77, 107 to 119
lua\shared\ls_utils.lua -- 155 to 168, 183

Now you can use remote-controlled gates with the other sensor and trap stuff. Have fun.

hi, i have an issue that when i try to put gate controller onto the hotbar (belt) it just keeps equipping / unequipping it.

It used to just work, like i press the button and gate opens. now it doesn't.

What could be the issue?

Any updates on when two gates can use the same frequencies so only one remote is needed? I saw an earlier post that it was done already but just needed further testing.

Haha no problem, im running close to 200 mods on my save currently and havent had any issues. It's just what my lazy ass needed. :P

Tested today on my save and it 100% works 0 issues. Just follow the laid out instructions that are listed by the creator. :)

For the people who can't install the motor

- Try to install mod The Engineer and make a new character with engineer trait

- If you are using build menu for the metal fence gate, destroy it. Make a fence gate using the metalworking option. Metalwork > Door > Doubled Wired Fence Gate

- Make sure you have the right equipment to install the controller
* Welder's Mask, Welding Rod, Propane Torch

Hello everyone, I was a bit off from Zomboid recently.
Just played with my friends yesterday, and I can confirm it is working fine. Nothing changed on the mod and nothing changed on the game, so there shouldn't be a reason for it to "suddently" stop working.
Please, to make sure the issue is with my mod and not being caused by another mod installed, test the mod without any other mods installed in a singleplayer environment.

A very important note that can happen, as I stated in the first line of the description, it only works on gates that where BUILT BY A PLAYER . If you are trying to install a motor on a gate that already exists, it will not show the install option. This is a issue that is already solved in my dev branch, but it isn't public yet because there's a lot of other issues on it.

Yes same here installed a gate, read the magazin, crafted the motor and the remote. Equipt a mask and torch no install option

Would this prevent NPCs from Superb Survivors, especially hostile ones like raiders, from opening the gate? I'm making a gate for my vehicles to pass through but it doesn't seem to come with a lock option. Not that I have encountered Raiders yet, but I've invited survivors and they open the gates on their own.
