Complete! Nice campaign - thanks for creating
Ossie1972 25 Jun @ 10:20pm
@playak0 DAMN!!! I had tried to get inside that tower, but Misty Step/Dimension Door did not target inside it, so I figured it wasn't important. But they also didn't light up any other squares that could possibly be hiding it in that quadrant, so it had to be it. Fly was the answer, but kind of strange that you can't MS/DD inside. Thanks!
playak0  [author] 25 Jun @ 6:43pm
Hi Ossie, alright I'll give you a more explicit hint: The stone is in the northeast quadrant of Sal's Point. Also, yes that's about all there is in Milyan Prison. And yes, the Earth Tower is faction-locked so you cannot do both Ninja Factions in the same play-through. That's actually true of many locations in the game such as the Hall of Titans being available based on your party's good/evil alignment, which is calculated in the background throughout the campaign as you make decisions. You can only experience about 1/3-1/2 of the campaign material in a single play-through, as the campaign is quite non-linear by design
Ossie1972 25 Jun @ 12:20am
@playak0 OK, none of the areas opened after Sals Point seem to have anything I missed: none of the maps off the town itself, nothing in River Crossing, Titan Path Entrance, or Hall of Titans Shrine. Unless it's in Castle of the Eclipse itself. Any more explicit hints for the Half-dwarf stone?

Locked doors: thanks. Crestwood Tomb button was nicely hidden! Was not lighting up when I held down Alt. PS Mountain Cave I never figured out how to open the locked door but could loot the chest behind it by standing in front of the door regardless

Areas remaining in BransleyBane:
* Milyan Prison have triggered button which opens cells & angers guard with key to SW. Have found secret door in NW which leads to the exit to town. But still appears to be more open areas in NE?
* Earth Tower locked door. Not taking House of Shadows members. Seems to be faction blocked?
playak0  [author] 24 Jun @ 9:18pm
@Ossir1972, Oh good to hear it still worked, yea a couple of the quests I think don't officially close depending on outcome but it doesn't affect gameplay, you didn't miss anything on Peasants quest or Orcs choosing the options you did. The Half-dwarf stone is very difficult to find, it's in act IV after you reach Sals Point and requires a spell to access it. Regarding the locked doors there is a switch on a wall in Crestwood tomb that opens the door, Blue Lagoon requires a key but is a special mission related to choices you make with the Bandits and the Blue Delvers. The mountain cave may require a spell or perhaps a trait of your characters in party.
Ossie1972 24 Jun @ 7:59pm
@playak0 the mainline "Rift in Time" quest has progressed way past "Head North to Honeycut/BransleyBane" - I'm now at "Head to the Castle of the Eclipse", which I assume is the final location. "Attack on Honeycut" quest has also completed, but "Slay the Peasants" and "Orc Capital" aren't progressing. I figured it wasn't breaking the mainline quest, just wanted to complete them as well.

Also can't find the final Soul Stone - the Half dwarf - which I assume unlocks another location containing the final Lost Blade. Where was that?

Finally, a few locked doors I can't get past: Crestwood Tomb, Blue Lagoon, and Mountain Cave. No keys to be found, and Knock spell doesn't work. Hints please!
playak0  [author] 24 Jun @ 6:06pm
Hi @Ossie1972, interesting, so the "Rift in Time" quest is stuck at "Head North to Honeycut"? Because that quest should progress to "Head North to BransleyBane" after you deal with HoneyCut. If mountain pass shows as available on map, that step should occur in same step as quest advancing. If the "Attack on Honeycut" quest doesn't progress, that is okay, it won't affect progress in main campaign,as long as "Rift in Time" advances. Also, the orc captial is a side quest and doesn't have direct impact on progressing through main campaign, just for leveling up and some possible loot so that quest progress shouldn't stop you from heading to Act 3 in BransleyBane.
Ossie1972 21 Jun @ 8:04am
@playak0 Mountain Pass and Bransleybane are both unlocked but I may have unlocked them through another faction quest? Wasn't really keeping track & I've definitely switched horses midstream for some of them. I've talked to the guard outside the Red Wedding entrance in Honeycut, after the Sorak battle, & he jumped me as a lone Sorak as well, so at least some part of the game knows that battle has happened. But that quest is just not updating. I'm well past any save pre the Sorak battle but happy to send you a current save if that would help.

Also Orc Capital quest - after beating the traitor prince, Chief Gillimok does not advance quest. May also be faction related?
playak0  [author] 19 Jun @ 9:09pm
Hi @Ossie1972, interesting, I just checked the quest variables and I don't see anything that would cause the quest not to advance. Does your game show the Mountain Pass travel-able on the world map up north? It should trigger the new location after you kill the Soraks and the quest should move on to "travel to Bransleybane." Perhaps, if you have a load before the Sorak battle you can retry the battle? It's possible the variable glitched, I've never run into that issue before in my playthroughs
Ossie1972 15 Jun @ 12:47am
Also Orc Capital quest - after beating the traitor prince, Chief Gillimok does not advance quest
Ossie1972 14 Jun @ 9:51pm
Not sure if I've broken the Kill The Peasants quest. I got the request to join the celebratory dinner and survived the Sorak ambush, but no further update and seems no way to complete?
Insufferable Smartypants 17 Apr @ 11:52pm
Good, exciting (and sometimes unexpected) fights. Terrible (soul crushing) dialogue. Better than the last one - more sophisticated.
playak0  [author] 15 Oct, 2024 @ 6:27pm
Hi @Taleml, thanks for catching that. I had re-balanced that encounter awhile back and accidentally deleted one of the loot drops that should have dropped the sun stone to progress quest. I have fixed and re-uploaded. In the meantime for your save, I would recommend either 1. pay her 5,000 gold to leave safely but you'll fail the blue delvers quest line. 2. join the simp army and pull off the extremely difficult task that is killing like 8 young dragons. 3. reload at the original woodland ambush and kill the thottie queen there. Apologies for the inconvenience.
taleml 15 Oct, 2024 @ 11:08am
problem here, Killed thottie queen but the quest still wants me to sweet talk her
playak0  [author] 12 Apr, 2024 @ 7:10pm
Wow @RandallJWatson, my apologies, it was indeed my fault, not a Solasta glitch. I found the variable chain that was causing that error, I just fixed and re-uploaded. Thanks for catching! Unfortunately, I don't think it will fix in the save you are playing but if you have a save at the start of Bransleybane before talking to mayor, you can avoid the issue by not clicking on asking about the charitable donation with mayor, or alternatively you can go through with the charitable donation with Taxman Kyle. Both should still work. It was an issue with a variable on speaking first then backing out. Also not sure if you tried it on your first run-through, but I would highly recommend trying Act 3 Red Wizard path. Some really fun fights and it's quick so you don't have to replay Shadow ninjas quest since you just did it. And yes, ShireChild 3 is coming along very well, very excited to release hopefully in the next month or two. Thanks again as well! Happy you are enjoying!
randalljwatson1968 12 Apr, 2024 @ 5:52pm
Side note, while the current issue I am having is a little frustrating, I have absolutely loved both shire. The combat has been challenging, the humor/story good for a chuckle, and just overall very entertaining. I am looking forward to #3. The "Boys" need more hobos to murder.
randalljwatson1968 12 Apr, 2024 @ 5:48pm
I did start the mayor quest but backed out without making the donation to Kyle, mayor now says heard you backed out let's keep the conversation private. So changed my mind there. It was after this that I explored the sewers found the vampire and I believe some earth ninjas. Killed them all, looted only the good stuff, no key though. From there moved on to shadow ninja quest line, Did everything up to Lady Willow quest but the sewers are now completely empty. Even went back and checked all the loot bags to see if I missed and key, nope. The lower sewer grate behind the locked door is not activated and I can not unlock the door though I can get to the crate with spider climbing wizard.
playak0  [author] 12 Apr, 2024 @ 5:31pm
Hi @RandallJWatson, hey no judgement on murder-hoboing from me ^^ I just checked the variables in the sewer, and it looks good to me so I'm thinking it's possible Solasta glitched? I've seen random variables or exits get messed up by game sometimes when underlying code doesn't have any issue. Could you describe the steps you took in more detail prior to wiping them? Did you make a charitable donation to mayor? Lady Willow does have a vampire form but that shouldn't trigger until you complete other steps of ninja trials or "order 66" with Mayor. If you made a charitable donation, your next step would be to go back and talk to mayor after executing ninja clans. She doesn't drop a key in that scenario.
randalljwatson1968 12 Apr, 2024 @ 5:10pm
Sooooo, I think I may have broken another one and now can't progress the main quest. I just completed the shadow ninja quest up to the point where I have to meet Lady Willow in the sewers. Here's the issue, explored the sewers before starting the shadow ninja quest. Was attacked by some earth ninja's and what I thought at the time was a brood vampire character. Thinking that was Lady Willow. Obviously killed them all including the floating Lady, now no way to progress. Saw in a previous post that she is supposed to give a key, she didn't drop one when I killed the group, so it is looking like the main quest is completely jacked for me. Any thoughts? I swear I am not just a random murder hobo LOL
playak0  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 6:12pm
Hi @ RandallJWatson Ahhh interesting, I've never done it in that order, but yes it looks like that would alter the variables causing bandits to storm the keep. Although without their leader, I think it makes sense that they would be less inclined to break into the Keep and steal the diamonds/rescue him. The Storm Keep is the final quest of the Blue Delvers regardless so you didn't miss too much content. Just a couple thousand gold for completing the defense of the keep. Happy to hear you enjoyed the campaign and props on finding the Atlas Dagger, didn't know how many people would! ^^
randalljwatson1968 7 Apr, 2024 @ 2:12pm
So, doing a second play through of this campaign, and again every bit as good as the base game. Very cheesy and humorous dialogue and I am eagerly awaiting part 3. This said, I think I broke a quest. So I orginally sided with the clapback kid. I betrayed him with the dagger mission and whacked his ass keeping the dagger I raided from the blue delvers. I did all this prior to turning in the sun stone from wild childs quest. Turned in the sun stone, got the quest to protect the storm keep. Went to the keep but the bandits never showed up. The quest shows active, I ran all over the keep, no bandits. Hell I even looted some of the diamonds and still no bandits. I think that I might have scared them when I whacked the kid. They don't want any of the pain that I am bringing. Anyway can't seem to progress the blue delvers quest not, any thoughts?
playak0  [author] 20 Mar, 2024 @ 6:24pm
@RandallJWatson Glad to hear you're really enjoying this one as well, appreciate the high praise!

Regarding Honeycut Yes, there are about 4-5 ways Honeycut can be saved though I don't want to spoil the exact details for you as it is intended to be somewhat of a mystery to save within the 5 days before the demons are unleashed.

For the Storm Keep Thieves, yes they can be stopped though the timing is pretty tight. If any group of thieves survives around a gem for over a minute they steal the gems and escape. So one tactic I might recommend is to split the party into mini squads to fight off the thieves.

Also yes both ShireChilds are pretty non-linear by design, which is intended to give it more of a tabletop RPG feel. You actually can only experience a portion of the possible campaign content in any single play through. Both campaigns can diverge pretty heavily depending on your choices. SC1 has 6 possible endings and SC2 has 3-4.
randalljwatson1968 20 Mar, 2024 @ 4:28pm
Had to make a second post. There is only one critique I would have and this is for both campaigns. Quest markers would have been helpful. I noticed in Shire Child and Southern Belle seems to be the same that some quests appear to be conditional. I left Shire Child wondering if I had seen everything and have the same feeling with Southern Belle. I don't mind talking to everyone one or two times, but knowing I'd unlocked a quest would have been nice. I am one that doesn't want to miss something. These are so well done, it bothers me to wonder if i saw all the content. Otherwise both have been fantastic and IMHO every bit as good as the base game. I am definately looking forward to Shire Child 3!
randalljwatson1968 20 Mar, 2024 @ 4:21pm
So I am loving Southern Belle. Actually think I am going to play it again after I complete. I do have a couple of questions though, not wanting answers as to the how, more about the if.

1. Can Honeycut be saved? Failed that mission but not sure if I did or didn't do something that caused me to fail?

2. Is it possible to prevent the thieves from taking the storm gem at storm keep. Ended up failing that one as well but admit it could be that I didn't run it right. The timing there seems to be critical and I thought I was on the right track but ended up failing the quest on the second wave.

Otherwise I am really enjoying this campaign and will definately play it again trying to figure some of this out.
playak0  [author] 17 Mar, 2024 @ 1:54pm
Hi @randalljwatson glad to hear you loved it. ShireShild: Southern Belle is intended to be played starting level 1 with no extra equipment as a fresh party, so I think bringing in custom weapons from SC1 could potentially glitch as they don't exist is the Southern Belle campaign file. In my opinion, ShireChild 1 has an overall better story and more cohesive campaign path but Southern Belle goes level 1-16, has some great moments/fights and act IV in particular is really fun. Hope you enjoy this one just as much. Currently working on ShireChild 3 which I'm hoping will be the best of the 3 ^^
randalljwatson1968 17 Mar, 2024 @ 7:41am
Hey loved shire child and I am just starting southern belle carrying over the characters that I used in shire child. I uploaded characters and noticed a couple of things and was wondering if they were intended. I respecced a character using unfinished business mod and that character I was not able to import at the end of shire child. The other is that certain items didn't carry over to belle example red crow scimitar and a long sword I aquired in shire can't remember it's nme but think it was one you made. Was this kind of think intended? Otherwise loved shire child and getting into belle.
playak0  [author] 21 Nov, 2023 @ 8:48pm
Thanks for catching @AzureOrchidee I have corrected barrel placement and re-uploaded
AzureOrchidee 18 Nov, 2023 @ 6:51pm
Hello. At the Weston Manor in Cicero, there is a secret door in the west hallway that cannot be opened due to barrels blocking the spot the player needs to stand to open it. Just wanted to make you aware so other players don't get as frustrated as we did. Thanks!
Darf 5 Nov, 2023 @ 4:49pm
I never made the charitable donation. I did unwittingly join the red wizards but that wasn't the right fit for my party so I went back to a save point and chose the shadow ninjas. I am playing UB mod 6 characters. don't know why that would do anything but I've been getting instability errors. hasn't effected actual game functions though. I may have to back track before the ninja clans.
playak0  [author] 1 Nov, 2023 @ 9:00pm
Hi @ Matt_Mello I looked further into it. The only thing I could find other than the game maybe glitching is did you start the ninja quests then go back and make a charitable donation with the governor? There was a loophole that I just fixed if you did it in that order that could cause the error you are seeing. Otherwise perhaps the game just glitched. Does it let you talk to Lady Willow before fighting? If so, try joining her and go the evil path. You can backstab her later and return to good path if you want.
Darf 1 Nov, 2023 @ 8:01pm
Maybe I did something out of order? I have killed her 3 times and she doesn't drop a key and the grate doesn't activate. Tried a couple different save points.
playak0  [author] 1 Nov, 2023 @ 5:32pm
HI @matt_mello, interesting I just checked the triggers it seems okay to me. Have you gotten the key off lady willow's body? The water grate should be activated after killing her. It transports you to a lower sewer where you wipe out her demon companions
Darf 1 Nov, 2023 @ 11:36am
So I don't know if I found a bug or if I'm missing something. I have completed the Shadow Ninja quest in Rift of Time. I returned the item to Fairchild and he told me to see Lady Willow in the sewers. I cleared the sewers in a hella fun fight. I returned to Fairchild and he just told me I'm having a buys day. The quest tells me to head to the sewers and pay the House Crown a visit in the sewers. I cleared the sewers and searched the whole place. There is a locked door that a flew over and nothing on the other side.I can't progress the Main quest. Am I missing something?Your spoiler text here
playak0  [author] 8 Oct, 2023 @ 9:41am
Thanks for the catch @Sinnerman I have fixed that issue and re-uploaded
Sinnerman 7 Oct, 2023 @ 10:23am
So there is a but in the "A Rift in Time" Quest. I killed the Hag and reported back to the Mayor and he told me to kill the traitor. But the wrong person gets hostile and the quest doesnt progress
charles_watkins 29 Sep, 2023 @ 3:35pm
I will come back. The quality of this campaign is top notch.
playak0  [author] 29 Sep, 2023 @ 11:00am
Hi @Charles_Watkins Interesting, I'm not super familiar if it's possible to continue a save on an updated version of the campaign. I did make a ton of improvements to the main campaign early acts since launch so it's not the end of the world if you had to restart, but my apologies for the buggy initial release.
charles_watkins 29 Sep, 2023 @ 7:53am
Yes, I came back after a BG3 break. How do I apply the update? I tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, but I'm not getting the 'load from disk?' popup when I load a save.
playak0  [author] 28 Sep, 2023 @ 6:16pm
Thanks @Jah glad you enjoyed the campaign! I'm mostly updating possible bugs at this point but I highly recommend you try running it back making different choices as the branching paths are pretty distinct in this one so quite a bit of content to try out ^^
playak0  [author] 28 Sep, 2023 @ 6:09pm
Hi @ Charles_Watkins. Thanks, I believe that Gahbanna wand issue has been fixed in the current version that is on the workshop but this was an issue I ran into in the past as well and fixed. Is this an old save you are continuing?
charles_watkins 28 Sep, 2023 @ 1:51pm
I've hit another snag. When I see Lady GahBanna, she praises me and gives me a wand, but then she says go to Sal's Point. However, that does not appear on the map. Instead I get the tiefling hideout, which was a nice battle, but now I'm stuck. I suppose I can go see the thottties and their mob of dragons, but I don't think that's on the main path.

When I see Lady G again, she hands me another wand. And another, And another...
Jah 28 Sep, 2023 @ 11:52am
Just finished the campaign. WHAT A RIDE. Balance seems extremely hard to not get a little save scummy but hey as my lads say with great scum comes great slog. Loved the campaign it was really lit :steamhappy:, can't wait to see what updates come next.
playak0  [author] 24 Sep, 2023 @ 7:56pm
Hi @Atlasghost, you are right, my apologies, I forgot to update a variable enabling that exit as I was rebalancing some things. I have fixed now and reuploaded, thank you for pointing out! If you have a prior save at the high sage temple in Sal's point, say you've been a naughty boy and you can go seek the Reaper Blade in the underworld. My apologies mate
Atlasghost 24 Sep, 2023 @ 6:10pm
Is there a special exit to the hall of titans? leaving the hall and going back to the path to reach the world map has no exit, so can't reach the temple.
Hastar 4 Sep, 2023 @ 11:50am
Yeah I replayed the battle, it happened twice. On the 3rd time I killed the big ape before it hit anyone. Really enjoying the module so far. :brotherfist:
playak0  [author] 4 Sep, 2023 @ 10:58am
Hi @Hastar, that's odd, I just playtested that battle and it is working fine with my computer. Did you try restarting Solasta and if so was it still glitching?
Hastar 3 Sep, 2023 @ 12:30pm
The mutated plague ape causes the computer to freeze after it hits someone with that disease and then the next hit on the diseased character locks up the computer.
playak0  [author] 1 Sep, 2023 @ 11:28am
@dark8ofcamelot hahaha yea you can kill him with no major consequences. There's a little secret exp bonus if he survives to Sal's Point city but not really worth stressing for. Maybe just a friendly fireball accidentally hits him :p He just offers to travel with you. I always wanted to have a friendly Sorak in the party so I had to throw him in.

Regarding your other comment below, I just playtested Sweetwater and the Sorak quest was indeed working for me in the current version so I think it should be working now. Perhaps you could try unsubscribing and re-subscribing so it redownloads? Sweetwater exits and quests are working for me. Glad to hear you are enjoying the campaign otherwise though :)
dark8eofcamelot 1 Sep, 2023 @ 10:56am
Sorry it's me again.
One last question. I have to ask, what is it with the Sorak Guy? The one" McMichaels Hanzel".
I found him in the Prison . I don't know at this Moment i thougt he was part of a Mission . Then sudddenly he join my Party and i couldn't get rid of him.
Is there a Reason that he joins the party?

Because that Idiot of a Sorak nearly die in every Battle after i found him. He doesn't win any Combat. Doesn't matter what kind of Enemy, how wounded they are even when they nearly Dead.. you can bet.....HE.LOSES. Really, this Guy sometimes he makes me Mad. And i wouldn't let him die, because i thought i needed him for a Mission. But nothing...Besides the obviouse he increase the difficullty Level.
So why is he even there?
playak0  [author] 1 Sep, 2023 @ 10:14am
Hi @charles_watkins, yes the Lowlands is a side quest, you can play on without it. No major consequences on that one.
