Yes in X games the benefit of beams has always been they hit 100% of the time but the ionic inhibitor does not hit very often if at all on a thresher which is a problem. the weapon is basically unusable.

So I have checked a bit closer and noticed those turrets are working perfectly fine on the Ray (event a bit OP)
It appeair to me that the problem is actually coming from the boron M class ship : the turrets are always aiming too low compaire to the target. it actually is the same for other turrets like the gatling but it is much more easy to notice with the beam. I have seen it clearly by looking at the target with F3 camera. Turrets will hit only when the target is coming very close or is above you.
I have check with a terran Jyan with laser turrets and this ship properly aim at the center of the target.
Guess I will need to post something on the official forum.

Yes, I mean the M turret callet Ion Beam . I have tested between a terran ship with beam turrets and boron with the Ion Beam Turret and the borron rarely ever hit the target while the terran hit akk the time.
Not sure about why as the giles look very similar. (maybe due to a targetting shift needed to be adjusted?)

He is talking about the m weapons listed above. The ionic weapon has horrid accuracy making it not viable vs small/medium ships.

Firstly im a bit confused as to what weapon do you mean by "M beam turret" cuz i didnt add any turrets with this mod for now. Do ypu maybe mean the Disruptor for S ships or?

Hello, I have noticed that M beam turrets on a thresher are missing S targets 80% of the time. I was expecting laser to be the best against S ships but currently it performs horribly.
Is it to be expected or is there a bug?

Oh yeah, i remember your guide and i also read it all if i remember correctly, can definitely say that its really good, but i didnt use it cuz i forgot it and cuz i do have a lot of experience with the game, especially combat but still, thanks for reminding me! :D

Thank you for this unexpectedly detailed examination of the weapon's damage, i would definitely have to buff the shield damage of the weapon, but with hull damage it is exactly what i want from it, a weapon that excells at ripping away shields, but not so much against hull (actually, now that i think about it... maybe give some extra hull damage as well)

Well, a Small Mk2 Muon Charger already does 528 damage per shot (technically 3x 176). So a four-gun fighter would do 2112 damage per shot, assuming none bounce.

Blast Mortar Mk2 does 1728 per shot. 6912 with four guns. With a similar roughly 1100 sustained dps at four guns.

The Ray's Ion Projector itself is also not very strong. Having only 1717 shield dps and 941 hull dps. 29200 shield damage and 16000 hull damage with a 17 second reload.

You need a high dps to break capital ship shield regen, or to grind down stations. Currently the Ion Cannon of yours would only do an effective 492 dps vs a Xenon K shield. 1592 dps minus 1100 shield regen. Depending on how you did set up the heat generation and cooldown, it might not even be able to defeat a K shield regen at all.
Meanwhile the hull dps is less than 3x S Mk1 Pulselaser.

If you would use the Ion Cannon against a Xenon Defence Platform, it would need over 11 hours of constant firing to destroy the station.

@Kajar you shouldnt really look at the DPS with the ion cannon, you should look at the damage per shot since the weapon doesnt fire as quickly as the Muon charger. Still, you do prove an important point and ill do some more tests with it and possibly buff it in the future

The Ion Cannon seems extremely weak with only 1592 shield dps and 389 hull dps. A single heavy fighter with 4x Muon Charger already has some 1100 dps.

Thank you for your kind words, it really amazes me that this mod has already started slowly skyrocketing and im very happy about that. Also i might start working on the VRO version either today or tomorrow so yeah :D

Hi for me I like a weapon to go BOOM I like flying a corvette to take down a destroyer class ship . I roleplay as a corvette pilot to save the day in my one of a kind ship and weapon that what I'm looking for. How about a bad ass weapon for the Astrid so I can play with it more instead having it set at a dock collecting dust thank hope you can help and NO I don't need weapon reblance I need weapon to kick butt this is a sole game.

@VaeVictus Thank you for your compliment,this mod only exists because i too am quite underwhelmed with the vanilla boron weaponry, and to answer your 2 questions:

1. I probably will now that you mention it, but its gonna be over on the Nexus site since it has picture and video support from both me and other people

2. 100% safe to install in a save game, but for uninstalling not so sure. You are free to try, but i do not recommend it

(This mod already has a higher sub count than my rebalance mod with 4 times as less views lol)

Hello, seems like a great mod, much needed considering the lack of variety in Boron Arsenal. Could you kindly upload some pictures or videos for better presentation though?

And as always, the obligatory question:
Safe to install mid-game or requires a new save? Can it be uninstalled safely etc. etc.
