I haz a refit of this that I've been working on for a while, haven't done the torpedo tubes properly yet but the rest of the ship is fully modern at this point. Repost?

if that were true, then 6,456 people would have complained about it by now. Try SE toolbox. after some SE updates, player positions in worlds get reset, and if the ship is not at the center of the world, they will not see it.

New missile designs, eh? Looking forward to any such revamp. The main drawback to this railgun version is that so-called 'gravity shields' will provide some protection, as will defensive turrets with the appropriate settings (though turrets will generally work to some extent against most missile/torpedo designs). This ship is too big to hide at 5+Km, so your targets have an opportunity to see it and respond; if they know what the primary weapons are, they could have plenty of time to prepare...or move...good luck hitting a maneuvering target with a decent punch at range...

Don't worry about the old version. I may wind up revamping this ship anyway since I have new missile designs. If you want to load a specific amount, you need to watch the cargo and cut it off when you've reached it.

So how does one go about loading only the recommended amount without emptying the relevant ammo box and filling it with only the specified amount?

I might have an old version of the Shrike with the torp bays if you want it, Dark Lord. Also having the jetpack spaz out and fire in random directions for no apparent reason...makes testing the newer version impossible. :/

No its from the moar ships pack which has added them as roaming ships. Which is however i stumbled accross the build.

keep in mind though that this is an artillery cruiser. if it's getting shot at you're doing it wrong :P

that being said, you found this in survival randomly or you put it there yourself? i cant imagine this was actually added by the devs due to mods...

Some feedback after encourtering it in survival. The ship was taken out and captured quite qucikly due to the location and lack of armor around the main reactor. I would recommend either an additional reactor or additional armor to protect it.

i wound up overwriting the old version, so i dont have it available for upload. the only difference between the two versions though is the content of the torpedo bays. if all you want is to convert it anyway, you need only to hollow it out

the rotor design is unreliable and glitchy. copy and paste doesnt always work for it either. i try to never publish a weapon design unless i know it works every time so i avoid mixing parts. if small ship warheads being stacked made a difference, that would be nice. the large ship ones just leave things too bulky or too vulnerable

I noted in my testing that Large Ship warheads have a decent punch. Just one did similar damage to what your torps did before the nerf (with recommended yield). Perhaps you couls simply redesign the torpedo. Perhaps use small ship rotor, large ship rotor head and large warhead...

tested it and unfortunately you are right. i will wait and see if they add something else deadly in (maybe stacking warheads will actually make a difference one day?). if so, i will update the design. on the other hand, i might try to find alternative uses for the ship and have a new version... i just don't want to retire this design so quickly

The torpedoes are now obsolete, as of 1.046as KSH nerfed the stacking explosives in crates thing it relies on. Additional testing has also shown that small warheads taking the place of the cargo container offer poor dmagae. I threw a 3x3x3 vlock of small warheads at a target and saw no appreciable damage, minor denting of light armor (Large Ship/Station armor). However, this denting was not any greater than a single small warhead alone can do. I'd also imagine that simply replacing the medium cargo container from your torpedo with a 3x3x3 block of small warheads would result in even less damage due to the presences of additional blocks to soak up damage.

@snellejelle99 - that is not at all intentional, forward thrust only uses 50.38% power. are you sure you have everything turned on?

grre. sorta hard to reinforce this thing. putting on the "spaced" armor and a few forward facing rocket lanchers is never a bad thing. hmm. this might take me a bit to upgrade on with things such as the armor itself. maybe a bit longer then the Phenix battleship you made, i posted on that one too. its still a bit slow for me, the battle ship. put on another titan... had to chew at the back again :/ now im side projecting a railgun based ship as well

it does not, however if you are using it as a police ship you could always take out some of the explosive storage (it's very excessive anyway) and put in assemblers there. refinery would mean some heavy armor would need to be removed in the same area as well

care to cite that accusation instead of jumping to assumptions? there are thousands of ship designs on the workshop, it's quite likely that there are more than two pairs that look similar. this ship was build from scratch by me.
