Well i mostly talked about vanilla chaos behavior, the only time i saw chaos with 13 fortresses was when i babysitted them. Thnx for the mod, i will use the shit out of it.

@Ooh-la-la, It's GAGA!! You're making the same mistake again. Chaos can confederate and have allies if you use mods to enable it. 13 dark fortresses or capitals is quite a lot; it's equivalent to 39-50 settlements for another normal faction.

Sure it's relative, but it's all depends on how fast can order confederate and ally each other, chaos can't do that, they don't even have it as a diplomatic option, they hate each other, they are scatterless and divided, 90% of the time surrounded by empires. 13 settlements is nothing compared to uuuuuuge empires that dwarfs, cathay, karl, elves, and lizardmen carve.

@Ooh-la-la, It's GAGA!! That's all relative. In my last game with the orcs, chaos was at my doorstep. They reached the Black Mountains, Bretonnia, and Akendorf. And they're in the top 20 factions with 13 settlements, and the Be'lakor faction is even stronger. Your games are just a reflection of the mods you use and chance.
I can make a version like that, maybe I'll post it tomorrow.

And maybe, if you dont mind, could you just turn every province capital into a dark fortress?
I like them fortresses whole system, i usually just grab 3-4 for myself, defend them at all cost, and give away the rest to vassals, but Ai chaos is rather weak, they are limited by what they can occupy, and that puts them waaaaaay back in the race against other factions.
Every other mod that turn everything to a fortress is veeeery outdated, and you are the only one that is still kicking, bless you.

Thnx for updating, and yeah gallions didn't work for years, not when i tried it. Maybe a conflict with mixu on my part, idk.

@Pudge is the main character Yes, when you play as Chaos, those are the markers that indicate which settlements will be transformed into fortresses.
What are the markers added to the map? Is it just the dark fortress symbol above the cities when zoomed out? I can't remember if those were there before.

Love your work by the way, I'm testing your MP mod set to see how it'll go!

@Elemental Israelite Since I don't use UFO and I don't know what it adds or how it works, I don't think I'm the best person to make a patch, but if someone wants to do it, they have my blessing.

Would you consider doing an SFO submod for this? Since this mod is not compatible with SFO, none of SFO's custom buildings show up in the new Dark Fortresses... only vanilla buildings. Same with Froeb's Chaos Ogres mod... without a patch, the new buildings aren't constructable in these new fortresses.

@888Umer I don't know which mod might be causing that, it's probably one that produces a final effect that unifies all the forces of chaos or something like that. If I knew which one it was, I would tell you, but I'm not going to read the descriptions of 350 mods to find out. Good luck with that.

Can someone pls help me with this:

i am playing as Wulfrik... and became a vassal of Azazel all of a sudden(along with all norscan factions) and he took mine and all the other norscan factions' capitals too. I cant declare war on him or anything.
I can use the console command mod to be at war with Azazel and gain my independence... but what could be causing this?

@King of the Hoots As I mentioned in the description, these are all the ones that can be added with this method without modifying Star Proof. I think there is some mod on the worksop that allows you to build fortresses in all the main cities.

Out of curiosity are you looking into updating this further? Also, is the possibility of more in Cathay or Naggarond in the future? A group I play with found this and thought it might be worth checking out for a campaign idea.

@Azrael I have tried expanding the dark fortresses for the IEE mod without success. It's probably because of the startpos. This mod takes advantage of a feature that CA implements in its "special" cities and that is why I can make it work as if they were the original ones in the game, there are other methods but they do not work as well as this one so you will probably have to talk to the Author of the IEE mod if you want more fortresses.

I imagine you cannot make Mordheim into a dark fortress if the list above is all you can add, this is sad given that it is one of the best suited cities lorewise given how linked to Be'lakor it is, and it would be a good incentive to go and grab it

This could use a patch for SFO. It adds the new Dark Fortresses but fails to put the new Chaos buildings SFO has INTO those fortresses.
