I have a question, i use this mod on my current run, and when reloaded one day the research tab disappeared
The gameplay is alright, and i can still research what i started, but the research tab is blank, full black.
I tried to change my mods and the tab reappear, but it can't just make it work with this, the original (i tried to move the order of the mod, begining, end, middle, nothing work)

Would you know a work around ?

whats the load order for this? I was using it just fine for most of my playthrough, and now it freezes and crashes the game when I try to load it. Is there an efficient load order to make it work best with a lot of mods?

@Razorblade - did you switch to the anomaly tree? I will check now, but I noticed that when I go to that tree, it reverts to the original tree. Will see if it gets stuck.

I loaded this mod, and it worked, then I loaded my save the next day and can't get it working. I changed nothing in the game. Any idea what would cause this? I can't even play the game with their abomination of a research tree.

Uncertain if its this mod or [JPT] Human Resources, but the research screen seems to completely break down recently when using both together.

I found a consistent source of the stuck completed researches: If you have a research that is in the queue, and use the Reverse Engineer psycast from Vanilla Psycasts Expanded's Technomancer tree on an item that grants that research, it results in the research getting stuck in the completed state.

I also think there is a case where if a research is finished by a Supercomputer from VFE Ancients it will get stuck, but that one is not consistent and I'm not sure if that was the actual cause of it getting stuck.

@Mlie I'll ask the Rimsort people what they think. In my experience it's a pretty mixed bag with mods including .dds or not.

I know the game handles it elegantly in any case - if a .dds texture is present and another mod that enables .dds is also present (Graphics+, Prepatcher etc.) , the .dds texture is loaded. Otherwise, the game loads the .png texture without issue.

If you are okay with including the .dds files in the mod, I am happy to send you the .dds files I have generated if this saves some work. I just want to research a bit more to make sure that's the best option.

@Gary I have no experience with dds textures so I cant really say what would be the best solution. If I should include any in the mod to resolve it I can do that of course.

When I use Rimsort's built in todds encoder on Research Tree it causes an issue where the line textures are displayed incorrectly.

I checked Rimsort's source code to see what parameters it uses when running todds (https://github.com/RimSort/RimSort/blob/main/app/utils/todds/wrapper.py) and a parameter called -fs or --fix-size stood out to me, which is described as "Set image width and height to the next multiple of 4".

When I run todds on the Research Tree textures manually without this parameter, the issue is resolved. I feel like this is not really a bug in either Rimsort or Research Tree but a kind of weird edge case. Nevertheless, I think it could be fixed easily by including pre-optimised .dds textures inside of Research Tree.

Please let me know your thoughts on this and whether you think I should raise an issue against the Rimsort repo.

Adjusting game window widget leads to infinite loading. Had to completely restart the game and already leads to lost of progression. Cant access logs until restart (and they're gone)

Yeah, no dice. With only the Research Tree mod loaded, the tree is already generated by the time I get into the game even using the dev quicktest. It's not a huge deal, at least it didn't freeze up the game permanently like it used to. It was just unexpected.

I can try, though with minimal mods the tree will generate way faster than it does with 650 mods loaded, likely before I can get into the game.

Might be a bug with shift-clicking on the research button while the tree is yellow and generating? I just did that, and the game froze for like ten minutes before opening the mod research tree. Is that expected?I would have expected shift-click to always give the vanilla tree.

I've got a particular issue with engine industries, the first tech in its tree is stuck in the queue even after being completed, I can't remove it from the queue, only move it further back in the queue.

like the game starts with nothing researched at all im using generations 2 collection, i use the without research mods but those dont work since some of the mods are not supported for the no research mods.

@eorenn Not sure I understand the question but you can just remove items from the queue if you do not want to research anything
