Deathless Daji - updated
Farseer Fan - has issues with Odyssey, not sure
Jianghu Jin - mostly working but some weirdness due to 1.6 changes
Kaiyi Karmic - never did get updated, unlikely to
Cheers!
Kaiyi, I am coming for you ...
Zomuro, please let me know if and when you reincorporate these, you're welcome to use any of my changes (I added some Anomaly-related settings, etc.) and I will remove mine if you so request.
this mod was split from the original xenotype mod it was meant to be part of
additionally, irrc there are changes to how storytellers get incidents that came w/ 1.5- changes that more or less borked both Farseer Fan and Kaiyi the Karmic
... i still can't believe Jianghu Jin, of all the storytellers, wasn't that affected, but i digress
point being, i'm planning to incorporate these storytellers into an upcoming xenotype mod
that wasn't the first time this happened
Lmao Yooo....
if you know where to look in your workshop files (/Steam/steamapps/workshop/...) you should be able to find the storyteller portraits
i'm going to regret this aren't i
@Sera, tolaburke
yes
1.) these all seem great! Like amazing storytellers great work!
2.) is there somewhere that these pictures are posted, because they're very good, make me feel many things, and I would love to show them to some friends who don't play rimworld
Simple term both male and female
Here's the mod you're looking for.

hey
mod updated
tell me what broke
i live in fear of your power
Cool i will keep playing around with them a little bit. Mostly I've been sticking with jin and I should probably test out the others if I'm going to help out with that but it seems like the more I stick with one the more it stuff i find. So I'll let you know if I find anything else.
oh yeah, I know about the tree, working on that
i'll make sure to ensure the tile's passable
i'm moving heaven and earth to rework and update stuff- pretty significant update touching just about every storyteller
and some tutorial stuff
I would definitely approve if you use biotech genetics to make them. (I personally have way too many buggy problems with HAR) Also if it helps I think alphagenetics has a female only Gene that'll make anyone spawn with female body types and there is also a gene mod that adds a hermaphrodite gene. They might help out a bit in your creation.
If there's anything else you want me to look at I don't mind.
bet
@Sera
frankly, our conversation has convinced me I should buff the totems and array, and adjust the upkeep for the array- enough to cover a large enough portion to be worthwhile. i'm probably going to also look into introducing a new setting for the range.
the Yaoma are probably going to be biotech. HAR is pretty damn useful, but from both a lore and design perspective i prefer it as a xenotype.
honestly this was a pretty timely comment, guess I'm touching up all the storytellers after all
also fun fact, the word Hermaphrodite comes from Greek mythology as the name of the offspring of Hermes and Aphrodite, and who had both male and female features.
But other then this I am likeing the story tellers and can't wait for the race. Are they going to be biotech or HAR?

I assumed she would Someone doesn't get jiggly with the terrain without collateral damage. it just feels like there is so little you can do. You could spam down dinky totems that have the range so small even my pawn are willing to walk across it to eat at the table or find a better one with good enough range but wait power it with jade and if you can't keep enough of this extremely rare material or she gets you right before it's reloaded your base gets gets violated like I do the laws of the geneva convention. Preventing it seems less skill more RNG. And at least to me an RNG f* you is only fun if I can get better to fully counter it easy later.

i had a chance to chat with Hotseat's author; it should work properly
the reason i included the ability to "remember" aspects of their mechanics is because both rely on saved values. imagine having to redo the long process of getting back all your karma to buy incidents with for kaiyi- ugh!
@Sera
there are specific buildings you have to build to guarantee protection against Jin's terraforming incident: the stabilizer totem and array. both will protect a range around them and make for decent art pieces; additionally, arrays have a much larger range, and are reusable.
glad to see you found the setting for both terrain and indoor damage... but also, let the buyer beware! Jin will mess up your base without remorse by changing the map around it.
that said, i probably should have made that all more clear. whoops!
@Elgate
kaiyi rework and general update in progress; hopefully that should make him more worthwhile to play with
and I did find the setting after this. But my point is by default that should not be on. default should be 0% chance to change inside rooms.
also side note why is jin making me think of R.kelly's bump and grind.
loring is hard work
Oh, frack, Kaiyi AGAIN.
The long story short is that Kaiyi will *check* if he can fire an incident that you selected before firing it. If he can't fire it, it'll give you that message.
Kaiyi in general is a really complex storyteller, so yeah- there's probably some bugs even I haven't noticed after all my testing.
I'm leaning towards removing that check: frankly, you paid for the incident, you should get it.
@Tri-Enclave President CEO
That wasn't a typo :)
On a more serious note, glad to know you're enjoying these four storytellers! They are a labor of love and suffering.
