Oh yes hi i forgot to update the description. I recently updated the mod to include "Only units with a living commanding general may enter non shattred rout"

Which basically means if your general dies or routs, Your units wont come back from routing and will instead immidietly shatter.

the AI leadreships shatters (very hard battle difficulty), routing troops never come back fighting (bug or intended? If intended is it possible to disable it some way?)

I might've increased the morale penalty from early kills, and since state troop armour is so shit, they rout fast becouse of the early casualties they take.

very hard battle with no stat increases for the AI

I played as the wood elves, one line of glade archers routs a basic empire infantry units in about two volley or something
very quick at least

and they all collapse together, first the empire archers rout, and then the infantry follows
don't even have to flank them or often even shoot the melee infantry with the archers

try fighting the empire with a few ranged units
particularly the low armor early game units
if you do a single or two ranged volleys, their army often completely collapses in on itsself

in this case I'm not really using tactics, I just shoot the enemy with my ranged units, and when they get to half HP they completely break and everything around them also breaks

I am a big fan of the outflanking penalty however

I know its an odd question, but could you make a pocket version that only applies the heavy flanking and general death penalties?

I can maybe nerf it but that's sort of the point. You use tactics to beat the enemy through morale rather then damage. When low tiers see that a 3rd of the army is routing they loose hope and rout. That's how you can beat an army that's x5 your size early game. Something that's near impossible anymore because vanilla relies more on breaking units via damage rather then morale shock and chainrouts.

I know this sounds strange, but the AI armies absolutely fold in on themselves if they field low tier units
is there any chance you could revert the chain-rout morale impact? or nerf it a bit, as I have armies routing entirely with only 25% losses sometimes

fair, however all the units that chain routed also shattered instantly - removing from unit panel, and then army losses came quickly - that part was weird.

Chain routs tend to snowball if you have 2-3 units routing next to each other. That is indeed intended as that's the point of chain routing. You get the small fry units to rout which builds enough morale debuffs to start affecting higher tier units as well. Rather then vanilla game where it takes 3-4 routing peasants to start routing other peasants.

i dont think they took damage fast - also chain routs were unstoppable and i quickly lose. Something feels off - but if it's intended then this mod is simply not for me. Thanks for the reply

It should be able to come back at least 1 or 2 times before it compleately routs. If it broke that fast then it probably took like a lot of damage.

I was gonna post a screenshot of the original values in hindsight but since it's a select few specific values that you have to semi look for rather then having them all lined up means it requires a bit more work to do which i didn't feel like doing. Apologies.
