Drycha is way to powerful, she goes through the Skaven army and takes a level 3 outpost with 12 units when the darn outpost has a full stack, even if you ambush her it is a loss in the matchup, though you can beat her, good luck in the early game.

I suggest to give vlad Grave Guard (Halberds) as his starting army.

The mod doesn't work all the way.

The only other mod I had activated was a simple player cheat mod I made, which shouldn't conflict with this mod.

I loaded up a campaign with Gorbad, and he has is new units, but when I loaded up one with the DP, he didn't have any better units.

Better if you can simply choose each unit yourself, no prefabricated ones.

Changing the starting army for the Daemon Prince is more difficult because he can have different names. But I will try to implement this after the Omens of Destruction update is released.

The mod in the data works fine, but any edit still doesnt work for some reason, is there a secondary file, or "names_name_562999513" affecting it anyhow? sorry but I cant figure it out

Copy the file to the "data" folder of the game, change the name for example "Better_starting_army_MY". But before that, update the mod. Your new mod will appear in the game launcher

I edited your file and saved it, maybe thats the problem? the edit conflicts with the workshop saved file? if yes, how do I do the copy thing?

Maybe, but I dont think so, Ive been fighting with rewriting Elspeths starting army for an hour, maybe 15 tries so far and all fails, doubt its a spelling error...
Remove, copy and paste extra units, everything brakes the mod for me, advice?

Just FYI to people first using this mod: At least for Miao Ying, the starting army doesn't show up at the selection screen but the troops are there when the game starts.

was this balanced based on the ai's location and who their fighting and ect? because some of these enemies have very strong units that way outperform others just because of their utility. lol and gelt has like the perfect corner camp "F" off army. but this is definitely a killer mod, thanks for your hard work.

Awesome mod, breathes new life into the campaign. It can get old having to wait until t4-t5 to get the good stuff for most factions so its great you can have them right off the bat with this. Any chance this mod can get applied to RoC?

Katarin really shouldn't have a frost wyrm, they absolute trash. The leopard sucks but somehow they made a dragon type unit suck worse than that. It does far less consistent damage, moves slower, and loses to anything that isn't an archer unit and even then it takes 3 minutes to break it. It's actually beneficial to disband the wyrm after the first few turns because it simply isn't worth the upkeep. It loses to heavy cav, heavy infantry, spears, other single entities, monstrous infantry, and takes 5 minutes for a dual between two of them to finish because they can't hit each other with their terrible animations.

Otherwise I've enjoyed every other lord I've used and appreciate the work.

I used Rusted PackFile Manager (RPFM). Copy my mod from Steam\steamapps\workshop\content (name of the game and mod folders will consist of numbers, but inside will be the correct name of the mod "Better_starting_army") to the game folder "data". Rename the mod. It consists of a script in which you can change units.

Grabbed this for Malakai mostly, makes sense he'd have slayers up the gazzoo. DOes feel he could have even more shaved off due to the spirit but praise for how better this suits.

Of course, you can write your wishes. I am interested in your opinion and experience. I added the Thunderbarge more for people to try playing with it, because it's a new unit. But I still realized that it was unbalanced and planned to change it over time. So this will actually happen along with changes to some other lords.

Can I suggested switching out Malakai's starting army for maybe another doomseeker unit? I love the damn thing but he already has the spirit of grungni so, for the purposes of giving the player interesting starting armies, it's a bit unnecessary.
