- Volleyball and Basketball are cool block relics, but I often lose track of my last-played card. Reliquary's Spinner shows an icon on its relic--maybe the same can be done here?

After playing several runs, here are my takes on several of the relics:
- Football doesn't have a downside in 99.9% of turns. Unless my strat has heavy micro or a multi-card infinite, the 60 second timer is negligible. Maybe if it were 20 seconds, it would mean something.
- Eyeball working once per act as a Rare relic is terrible. If putting any card from draw to hand once per combat is too strong even for a Rare relic, then maybe it could instead Scry 5 and draw 1 card once per combat. That way, it's not too broken or useless.
- Handball crashes my game. I don't have the stacktrace on me.
- Mudball having a downside is really bad.
- Ballsack can create duplicate relics and also ignores relics filtered using Relic Filter. I got two Baseballs in a run due to this.
- Medicine Ball is OP. Girya is Rare and requires skipping other rest site actions. If this relic instead granted X Vigor at the start of your turn per times rested, it could be a better way to reward resting.

Guess what fun interaction I discovered between Kickball and cards that make you damage yourself!

Not a bug, it's just a weird interaction with another mod that was funny.

one of the projects i'm working on is a character mod, it's about 80% done but I don't want to give away more until I'm sure I can deliver

update should be out sometime today or tomorrow at the latest. i'm doing a quick round of regression testing before shipping

oh i see the issue with mudball, I did it when an attack happens, not when a card is played and it's an attack. i didn't catch because it works for the normal use case, but when you play something like Offering, the self-damage procs it on yourself, oof yeah thats pretty shite

Mudballs seems to damage the player. It gives the player damage at the start of next turn. It is really bad because you lose your block before it hits, so it is effectively unblockable.

to answer your question narcoleptic on how medicine ball works, the next 3 times you rest at a campfire it gain 1 charge, at the start of combat you gain strength equal to it's charge. think of it as a girya that has the same trigger condition as regal pillow. hope this helps your future runs when you find it.

on one hand I can agree kickball does seem op (tho 50-75% of mods that add relics has at least one that's considered op by vanilla standards) but on the other hand for certain enemies you either got to apply weakened and or strength down to trigger it (namely the modded enemies) and you gotta have the block/hp to survive the attacks to make effective use of kickballs damage.

Kickball is OP. Similar to having 10 thorns. Early game it will obliterate everything. Even late game, it's quite powerful against the heart. It probably shouldn't work on blocked damage, and it probably shouldn't deal more damage than the enemy hit.

after some time i've decided to move on to other projects and will just maintain this mod for bug fixes, i won't be adding any new relics for the time being, but the source code is now public

I figured the most straightforward solution to fix the issue of cricket ball not dealing double damage was to program it to also give the pen nib double damage buff at the start of the combat.

thanks for the bug reports, cricket ball also currently doesn't actually double the damage. i'm currently setting up a new workstation to mod with but once i do that i'll patch things up here. (only god knows when this will be)

Hairball claims to work at the start of combat, but actually triggers at the start of every player turn. This might be intended, because if it only triggered once in 50% of combats, it would probably be very underpowered. But, then, it is still a mistake in the text.

+1 to Nekomato, the same is true for the Eyeball relic. I assume this is an issue for all relics that are usable once per act.

If you exit the game and re-enter after using the rubber band ball, it is usable again.

Cricket Ball does not double the damage of the first card played. It does make the first damage card free.

I've encountered a small bug: the ping pong and pinball relics seem to be mixed up. Both do the opposite of what they are supposed to do, according to the tool tip. (Ping Pong goes up when hitting the SAME enemy, when tool tip says alternating enemies; Pinball goes up when hitting ALTERNATING enemies, when tool tip says hitting the same enemy)

Just got 2 more awesome ball relic idea's to share tho they may be a bit too op even by this mods standards.

Lotto Ball (boss relic). Upon pickup obtain a random ball relic of each rarity.start each combat with 1 copy of pride in your hand, draw and discard pile.

millennium eye-ball (shop relic). Draw 2 additional cards each turn, start each combat with 10 Foresight, negate the downside of runic dome.

MudBall = a brick made of mud, can be used to make a small wall, or can be thrown at something.

"Whenever you take damage from a source, gain 1 block at the start of your next turn per source.
+
"Whenever you deal damage to an enemy, deal 1 damage to it at the at the start of your next turn"

(basically its just a something to help defend when taking a beating, and something do help chip away at enemies when you are attacking them, but if an attack does multiple hits like an X spell, then it would trigger it per hit etc) :lunar2019piginablanket:

these relic are quite interesting and well balanced, my only suggestion is to add a cricket ball relic that could be either a rare or shop relic that makes the first attack each combat cost 0 and deal double damage.
