great mod mate! was watching Alexander and the battle of Gaugamela the other day, and these would fit right in.

You get the unit descriptions including the UPC mod (link in the mod description). I have the spanish UPC pack and it works fine for me...
I don´t like changing the appearance of the mod, because, for example, the are many people who want change the shields, but the are people than they like the mod without modifications...it´s a question of taste...

Thank you for your advices. Now I´m waiting for tomorrow 16th september (like most of the modders) to confirm the new DLC db is the same in structure like the patch 15... is the main reason, for example, because the UPC mod members don´t update his mod... after this day, probably UPC will be updated with my units descrptions in a few days... I´ll try to check my db stats, too.

This could be the best macedon roster expansion if you:
1. added names/descriptions.
2. added a little stat variation.. i.e. trade better attack for better defense and vice versa for 2 similar units like the archers.
3. maybe spread the units around to different barracks (move the multicultural units to the periokos camp etc.) but that isnt too important just a difficulty thing.

Hi, I use your link. And copy the downloaded file into Rome2/data ... but I can't use units on campaign ... :/ I can see it(and use it) in custom battle, but no in campaign ... Is it normal ?

names of units are not showing and it seems glitched, let us know when you fix it so we can use it again. Also, I'd love to see Macedon play like Rome where you can build an auxillia barracks and recruit auxillia troops from asia ect.

Why thank you kind sir, I'm a stickler for the details, and Alexander's army is the one that I like most of all. I'm glad that there is someone (aka. you) that will give the greatest soldiers the world has ever seen the representation they deserve. Ok enough of that, now get back to work on MY mod. ;-P

No. I just want some variety in the units stats not the looks or anything.Im not saying dont give them to you right away but make some of the units better and bump up their upkeep and then some lower and make them lower upkeep

Having access to a large number of units in the beginning is better. First of all, it´s no logical can create certain units just when the map is almost over, for example. You take the choice to create your army since the beginning, and this choice is the key for you to advance in the game, or not.

I meant that most of the stats are clones. The looks i get but there are a few units of pikes that have identical stats. Theres no reason to take one over another

Perhaps you think my units are clones of eachother, but my intention was in the unit soldiers were not clones between them, like ROME I, and I think I got it... between some units you can see the same type of clothing, but it was a deliberate thing, because in the antiquity, army soldiers took better clothings, armours and weapons for the capture or killed enemy, so in a specific momment you don´t recognized even native units for his specific clothing, and this is the sense I want to hand down...Is it better for the players that each unit soldiers have the same type of clothings, armours and weapons and identify them with a quick look? Perhaps, but I prefer my units looks like the real age.

I noticed since the beginning that the units name and descriptions will be include next in the future in the "Unit Pack Conpilation" mod; for everybody to know this, "UPC" is a modified file (localization.loc) that include the vanilla and many mods unit descrptions. I spected for the mod team update soon his mod and include my units. When it´s success I notice for everybody with the available link.

I'd really like to do a letsplay of this on youtube but the lack of names and the units basically being clones of eachother as well as them all being recruitable in the holosideros barracks really makes that immpossible to do. If you fix some of those things this will be a fantastic mod

well, really, I recognize the unit descripttion is not properly "prodromoi", because in the antitiquity There were a group of units in which one was a land unit called "hamippos" hold to the horse tail of the "prodoromoi" cavalry; "Thureos" teme is difficult to explain; Alexander did an authentic "revolution" in his father´s Army, modifing quality of armours and weapons in some units... even the type of shields, the "agrianian" hypaspist is my own "licence " for jugability, for the player to make a better choice between units, and the hetairoi, it´s only a visual effect for jugability showing with or without shields... anyway I am going to modify the hetairoi unit without shield, and the unit descriptions, and thank you for your comments, because your improve proposals are a demostration that this is YOUR mod, not mine.

I really like your mod but there are a few things that stand out to me. You have a good basic knowledge of Alexanders army but some of them are confused. Prodromoi are light cavalry not infantry, like your Paeonian cavalry should be Paeonian Prodromoi, a thureos is a shield the one that your Thracian javelinmen have so the macedonian thureos should have either different shield or a different name, the hypaspists are Macedonians only, the agrianians fought along side the hypaspists but weren't hypaspists themselves, also the Hetairoi didn't use shields. I think a few corrections and this mod will be perfect.

are all of the units supposed to become available with just the first main barracks upgrade? not that any of the units are extremely op (which is what i like about this mod. The game is easy enough even on legendary that you shouldnt need all powerful units.. but the variety is nice).. but its kind of weird to go from being able to recruit just leves and hoplites one turn then having 30 units available the next.. i mean its really convenient to have access to all low-mid tier units available within the first 5 turns allowing you to focus research elsewhere.. but im not sure if i like it or not considering the variety is probably strong enough to carry you through the rest of the game without ever touching your barracks again.. not complaining or asking for a change.. just my 2cents.. i really enjoy the units and im excited for the update..

Well, I explain in the beginning I was trying to include the units description in the mod UPC "Unit Pack Compilation"; I request it in his forum, and I expect in the future they include it in his mod.

ZEAL, I don´t know if you want icons like "Bullgod icons style" mod... sorry, but I don´t know to make this class of icons, but, in the future, if anyone knows this, my mod is open for modify...

Alexandros, the armour quality in these phalanxes is deliberate... I try to increase the options variety for the player to make a choice... armoured and strongest phalanxes are the vanilla ones, and mine are "less quality" for cost... I think the player will asume the risk, but he will be watchfull to defend these units with the others, above all the flanks... so the jugability improves...
